Thanks for the look and video. Let us know what you think after using it for a while.

Will do! I'm testing a few new tools that I recently added to my tool bag. After that's done, I'll upload a video going over my whole bag setup, where I'll discuss my opinions on the drill in further detail. I'm excited because there's some really unique tools that I think a lot of people will find value in. Thank you for the comment and sub!!!!!

Just a question - why would you use an impact driver to drill a lock? Wouldn't a drill be a better choice? I would think that the impact driver would ruin your drill bits.

Hi thanks for the video! So the one stat in particular about this hidden gem of a tool that stood out to me more then any is its IPI @4900! Which is INSANELY high. Put it to you this way, Milwaukees's flagship Impact Driver which is the M18 gen 4 FUEL knocks out 4400. That's a pretty significant margain. As you mentioned, the RPM and Power (Torque) isn't too far off from the FUEL either. So I just bought it myself 2 days ago, along with the new Compact Drill/Driver in a kit but, I still haven't even opened the box. Reason being is, despite getting a really good deal on Sale at HD, I just feel like if Im gonna go for something like this I might as well get the one with the Speed Selector and a Hammer Drill instead of the non Hammer Drill/Driver. Lastly, I realize this is a very new product but the absence of any information is quite puzzling to say the least. Also, will Sub as soon as Im done posting here. Thanks 😃

I agree- even the big milwaukee tool review channels haven't seemed to take notice of it which I find bizarre. And its really a matter of preference as far as the speed selector goes. For me, I carry a Skil electric screwdriver for things that don't require much torque, so all I really need an impact for is for heavy duty tasks like drilling out locks or driving large screws so I don't mind just having the variable trigger. If you need a drill that can do light to medium tasks having selectable speeds is a necessity. Thanks for the comment and sub!

If you're going to be doing any drilling with a drill bet you need to be using something with a drill Chuck on it. A hex collet collar is not going to hold a drill. Bit true enough, if you put a hex-based drill bit and a hex collet collar and then put pressure on the tip of the bit you'll see all the wobble or what we call run out and a good drill. Chuck is not going to allow that to happen

@@jettschenker Learned this the hard way lol. They do make impact compatable 1/4" drill bits with the cut out, but you're correct in saying you should really have a chuck and a proper drill for drilling big holes in wood and for harder materials like metal. Just because it exists doesn't make it a good idea 😁

How is it holding up?

I've been using it as my main drill since this video and it's still like new. Personally I find I like having only one speed, but I do have one gripe. It doesn't have the quick connect like the fuel models do where bits slide in without pulling up on the collet, so interchanging bits can be a little slow. It has a ton of torque for its size

@@wookiescookies Ive had mine a month. I have the Gen 2 & 3 M12 Fuel and the Gen 4 M18 Fuel. The compact brushless is my favorite of them all. I prefer the single speed simplicity as well, and even the traditional collet hasnt really been enough to be a dealbreaker for me. You can get a quick insert/ejecting bit holder if it means a lot to you, btw. But only question left for me is how well it’ll hold up compared to the fuels. I’m not that tough on my tools (residential and commercial mover) but I don’t baby them either, sounds like yours is holding up well!

fuel is just brushless the compact is also a brushless lol

Yep, I recently learned that FUEL really just means it can squeeze out some extra power if you're using high output batteries. Which is cool, but if I'm ever using a power tool at its maximum power for an extended period I'm probably using the wrong tool hahahaha
