This is third time I got a unique tool and you make a video about it. Actually used it today installing a meter box because I don’t have a quarter inch extension. 👍🏼

The installation driver is a total game changer. I'm sure its form factor will become a segment of its own as all the competitor companies build competing models.
@EngineersPerspective701

Agreed. I appreciate Milwaukee was willing to take the tried and true festool formula and improve upon it in some areas while delivering it to the mass market better than Festool really can. I think a gen2 will be a tool for the ages

Glad you like it ! It’s evicted my various small angle drills , and angle M12 impact !
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
It's a daily user for sure. So much better than the dump right angle attachments. Never thought about using the right angle impact outside of automotive work. Sounds like I don't need it anyways with this guy though!
@chrisfyfe9212

@@EngineersPerspective701 I like the right angle M12 impact for assembly / disassembly and screw running in tight spots , I always get the Crap Details where my M18 using Co Workers Simply have no access !

Recently i noticed i couldnt remove the "bit" and once i got it off i noticed i cant get it back on. I think the tool is done. So sad only used it for 2 months. Realized it didnt have enough torque for what i needed anyway. But it is good to have at home. Hopefully homedepot will warranty it out.
@EngineersPerspective701

Interesting, haven’t heard of that attachment collar mechanism failing. It can get a lot done but it’s still a lighter duty tool
@ProxyFinal
@ProxyFinal Год назад
it needs to be updated. I own the Bosch as well and more than often I gravitate towards using that one. What makes the Bosch better is its attachment system where it locks in place. If the M12 catches on anything by accident, the head can come off.
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
Been very tempted by some of the Bosch sales recently but I don’t want to expand to yet another system! It’s happened just a few times where I pooped that head off. Mostly on top of ladders when I use the top step holes to hold it
@ProxyFinal
@ProxyFinal Год назад
@@EngineersPerspective701 i had to make choice and ultimately ended up with the bosch. I don't have much Bosch 12v stuff, but it was just better in almost every way. Not saying the M12 is bad, but I guess I was expecting more.
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
@@ProxyFinal no I got ya! Regardless Bosch has a pretty insane 12V lineup!
@ProxyFinal
@ProxyFinal Год назад
@@EngineersPerspective701 in all fairness, their line is not that big for 12v and they are due for a next Gen update. The 12v tools are a little out of date.

I use some Bosch tools, but the attachment system of the Bosch 12V sucks. Attachment comes lose often, when changing the torque setting. And they are much more plastiky.

I like mine lots ! That and my M12 Surge do the lion’s share of my actual work . Another of my “ go to” , is the M12 Fuel SDS hammer , it rides in my splice bucket , for working aloft !
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
This and the surge stay in my DIY/home repair bag and get used almost more than any others. Love the combo. I have a full sized rotary hammer so I haven't taken the plunge into the micro SDS hammers yet. Just don't have enough need for the smaller size with current projects.

Love the tool, hate the forward reverse button. Its location is awkward and not intuitive. I prefer the switch location found on just about any drill. I feel given enough time and usage, the plastic covering the switch will begin to wear off. Seen it on many appliances with membrane switches.
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 7 месяцев назад
They already copied Festool so I wish they would have just taken the forward/reverse switch while they were at it. Worth dealing with it but I do hope there’s a version 2 with a regular switch

Mine broke drilling a 2in hole with the angle party…I didn’t know it couldn’t handle it when I put it to speed 1
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 6 месяцев назад
Rough! A 2” hole saw? I used mine to drill 3” hole saws using the angle adapter and 3/8” chuck. Went through 3 floor joists. It was incredibly brutal and slow going but it made it through and no issues.
@DanDan3663
@DanDan3663 Год назад
With the push button reverse on this drill, can it be put into reverse while holding the trigger in? In other words, can you hold in the trigger and then switch back and forth between forward and reverse without releasing the trigger? Thanks
@EngineersPerspective701

You have to release the trigger for switching forward/reverse

Dunno if you are interested to know. But the -20 in the model means you bought this without battery. -22 Means you got the version with 2 batteries -21 one battery.
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 5 месяцев назад
I always knew the -20 was bare tool but didn’t know how the kit SKUs worked. I think the tools always just have the -20 regardless of kit vs. bare when you purchase though. Really it’s irrelevant in the video title then!

@@EngineersPerspective701I don't know about irrelevant. because anybody typing in just the model number will still find the video. What you've done is made it so a larger number of people are likely to find your video. Which is a good video by the way!

Do you think I could make 6 holes in drywall for recessed lights ?
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
Not with this. I’ve used the more powerful gen3 M12 Hammer drill for 6” lights and it was not ideal. My Dewalt DCD999 makes it a breeze. That was using the Milwaukee drywall hole saw

If you could only have 1 drill in the house, which would it be?
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
If I could only own a single drill it would definitely be the Dewalt DCD999. Really any good brands top hammer drill. The extra power is worth any inconvenience for bigger projects. If we’re talking an around the house drill and I already have the big boy then I really like these multihead installation drivers

@@EngineersPerspective701 if price didn’t matter, what would be the best power tool for all around use around the home or for DIY projects?
@EngineersPerspective701
@EngineersPerspective701 Год назад
@@arturv83 I’m still a believer in the drill over an impact as the most versatile tool. Either Dewalt, Milwaukee, Flex, or Makita’s top end hammer drills are what I’d recommend if you’re going to be doing any serious projects. If not then it doesn’t matter much but the Dewalt DCD800 is probably the best drill for it’s size and weight ever made. I don’t like recommending 12V tools for home owners to start on because the 18/20/24V systems make so much more sense in the long run. That said if you want 12V then Milwaukees gen 3 M12 hammer drill.
