-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This video is an update after 1-year of use with the Milwaukee Tool M18 Brushless String Trimmer model 2828-20. Still love this trimmer but the vibrations are getting more and more annoying. It is at the point that my hand will feel tingly or slightly numb after 20-minutes of use.
The MILWAUKEE Tool M18 Brushless String Trimmer is built specifically for trimming applications with up to 6,200 RPM. This is not compatible with Milwaukee Tool Quik Lok attachments. The motor in this string trimmer is located in the head of the string trimmer. The string trimmer has high and low-speed settings and also has one of the "closest to gas" variable speed triggers I have ever used.
The adjustable 14-16" cutting sweat combined with an Easy Load Trimmer Head with the ability to load up to 25' of trimmer line in .080" or .095" sizes.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ru-vid.comUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

I got this trimmer yesterday for commercial use I cut high thick grass just fine and I also realised it was on turtle speed the whole time. the only difference is I use the 12amp 50% more power battery they are kind of new. Infact I would say it performed better than my Stihl gas one but it is old.

Awesome vid thanks for all the info and all you do. I have been looking at getting a battery string trimmer for a while. As for the vibration, is it because of the motor is on the head? Does the 15"-17" flexvolt that you tested recently have less vibration? If so do you think it's because the motor is not on the head. As I have both dewalt and milwaukee batteries I am on the fence. The trigger is a non issue for me because I dont feather a string trimmer trigger when I use it. Thanks for the advice keep up the good work.

What no one ever mentions, is if you take off the guard and run the string only slightly longer than the guard allows, the unit will overload after a couple of mins and cut out repeatedly. IMO this is a poor design. My makita doesn't do this, but it doesn't have near the grunt. I hate the guards haven't used them in years and they interfere with everything around tree wires and things like that. It is a thermal component because once it does it it won't even turn back on without cutting out. All my gas ones and my one 36V makita electric do not have this issue. I'm returning, my second version of this, again. I gave them a year to fix their over sensitive electronics but I guess it will be a design issue forever. Maybe i'll try again in 5 years..but otherwise love the torque!

I just returned mine. Battery string trimmer aren’t worth it right now. Stick to gas 👍🏼

Better off with a gas weed eater. I know I'll never go electric.

Tried all the Milwaukee string trimmers, and hate them for their vibration! They cut well, but your arm health should be worth more then these stupid things. poorly designed when it comes to vibration. Ego, Dewalt, Toro, and Echo so far light years better then the Milwaukee's.
