I was super close to buying Milwaukee multi screwdrivers, but went with a Picquic for my multi screwdriver for pretty much all the reasons Vince talks about. No moving parts, simple design with push through bits, and the bits themselves are impact ready. But additionally, Picquic uses standard sized bits. Break one of the Milwaukee's 1.5" bits in your impact or lose it? Gotta go buy a new set of Milwaukee 1.5" bits instead of just pulling a new one out of any of those snazzy kits Vince would have a dozen of in his truck or bag, and getting back to work. Picquic has a stubby model that uses a standard 1" bit, a medium size that uses 2" bits (my choice), and a standard size that uses 3" bits. All are impact ready and easily replaced from standard kits with corresponding length bits. They also have an even tinier stubby that uses tiny 3/16" bits for more precision work.

For those of you who have problems taking out the bits... just use the loose bit to pry out the bit you want from the top end (the small opening near the forward/reverse wheel)... tata no more finger problems!

For those of you that have this little gem do this - remove all the bits, spray some furniture polish on one of the bits and push it through each hole. Your fingers will thank me for this!

Have the full size version of this tool, it works great. I used it to install stainless steel covering over the conveyor in the ticket lobby at Phila International Airport and it never let me down. Only complaint I have is getting the bits out of the storage handle is a pain but they do stay put. I wouldnt change a thing.

For me the best stubby is the Wera 811/1 super short and simple stubby. Has a small handle so just what you need in tight places. I’ve always got hex bits in my screw gun anyway. Great channel, I like your reviews.

One of the main things I use mine for is loosening the screws on the inside of a recessed can light to drop it down flush with finished ceiling. Take the bit out and it works as a 1/4in nut driver. Works great

I like the more secure storage of the bits. Ive lost sooo many bits from my klein and lenox multis and as you can imagine, its infuriating when you grab it only to notice the one you need is gone. Im also quite a fan of ratcheting screwdrivers.

I bought a similar ratcheting screwdriver at the dollar store and I use it all of the time. It's about half the length of the Milwaukee and uses standard hex bits. The bit storage is in the head under a cap.

Never had good luck with ratcheting screwdrivers eh? Well brother you really outta try to snap on stubby ratcheting screwdriver! It’s the best out there. You can’t over torque it, never slips. Super strong. Very good mechanism, finer teeth than most ratchets! I absolutely love mine and I didn’t think I would! Bought it purely off recommendation, and I’m glad I did!!

Vince, as far as ratcheting screwdrivers go, my family has always loved the old Snap-On SSDMR4B in orange. My grandfather had one, my dad has one, my uncle has one, and I have one. It’s one of the only Snap-On products that we own and it is the most valuable in my tool box. It’s about 55 bucks on eBay but it is worth every single penny. Give one a shot, you’ll be glad you did.

i actually use it with my 2505-20 because the shave groove on the end allow the 1/4 hex to fit into the 2505's attachable chuck for putting on drills-bit much easier without have to put on the 2505 drill it self. also something just use it with the 2505's angle attachable to get that odd reach sometimes. but it works for me.

Cooi, It works great with any 1/4 inch drive tool attachments you might have lying around. There are also plenty of Milwaukee Brand 1/4 inch Accessory Kits available if you want to keep it all Milwaukee Brand. Example convert it to a full size Screwdriver by switching to a longer 1/4 inch hex Screwdriver bit or convert it to a Mini Socket Ratchet you get the idea - it's versatile.

I own this screw driver, I keep it in my handyman go toolbox. I pretty much had all the same concerns. Its not that bad, you get used to it. You have to keep in mind its a specialty screw driver you only pull it out once in awhile anyways. Bought it for the exact reason you mentioned, about loosing stubby drivers in the bottom of your toolbox. lol

I wanted since first time i saw it cause i hate having one screwdriver for each bit and i already had a mexican trupper stubby ratchet screwdriver but an accident happened to it.I loved the concept since it is not bulky, you have several bits at hand and have a good grip. So when i saw the milwaukee a couple of years ago, i wanted it, made it mine and loved it; there would be better (here in Mexico there are not many options) but it is the manual screwdriver i use the most. I already knew about using the bits with my impact, the only problem is that it is not magnetic and bits fall off, anyway, loved it.

Reasons I don't use ratcheting screwdrivers: 1) I carry a 12v driver for things like outlet covers. 2) I carry a 20v driver for anything the 12v doesn't have enough ass for. 3) Klein multi bit power driver. It uses regular 1/4" hex bits and the double sided bits from there 11in1. (I'm really glad I got one before they quit making them.)

I had both the stubby and regular length Milwaukee's. They both broke within a year. No luck with a warranty so I chucked them both and bought a snap on ratcheting screwdriver with a soft grip. Way nicer and haven't broken it yet. Even if I do it's lifetime warranty.

Vin you're so right on this. Not only are you right but you're dead on. To a T at everything you said. I as well have no patience for a ratcheting screwdriver and I have a stubby set and normally when I'm looking for the Phillips I find the slotted and when I'm looking for the slotted I find the Phillips and it gets lost in the bag and end up just having to either buy another one because I'm too impatient or I got to dig everything out and then reorganized it's really annoying. My only beef about the stubby is it size but I guess you could always pop in the Dewalt or Milwaukee extended Phillips for extended slotted Etc in there if need be. Excellent video as always

Liked the vid Vince, & have these screwdrivers. If have the ratcheting version, you gotta use thumb to press down to get bits out. The non-ratcheting does have the pass through bits, where you can push bits through; & this is also a tad bit smaller than ratcheting version. The nice thing about these, can buy the extra bits & use on this(so if don’t like bits came w/, or need different sizes, can create any loadout you like)....along w/ any other 1/4” hex bit👍🏻 Must say though, the Milwaukee ratcheting drivers are better than a Klein ratcheting b/c of the Milwaukee’s selector switch...the Klein’s just more annoying to use (if ya have both of these....you know what I mean😉😆). All in all, I really do like the Milwaukee multi bit screwdrivers b/c they come in handy & allow me to use any 1/4” hex bit, which I really like. Thanks for sharing✌🏼

Only problem I have is there's no slot for a caribeiner...in case I'm in a pinch or sets of security bits in the same style.....of rust resistance marine grade....nor an onboard rechargeable led lite. Or signaling lite...if dropped. Or an obvious break up colour stripe for quick search. Or a kit set zip bag. Other than that ....pretty decent. I'd use the heck out of it... If they can figure out how to put it on my fast back id buy 3. With an 8 in 1 prep tool companion.

@vcg go to hobby lobby or any crafts store (wal-mart may carry it) ask for a stick of "zipper ez" or standard bee's wax rub it on any zipper that is sticking or breaking open and its like magic (i was a parachute rigger in the Marine Corps for a long time and it is the only thing i ever trusted on my packs)
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA 3 года назад
It'll fit inside a large plastic presciption pill container...the ones you get at the pharmacy. And leaves you room for other bits. The bits are marine grade... Except minus Popular Security or Allen heads...to go with it. Like a 6/8/10... It does match my Swiss Army Knife Fieldmaster/Hunter. I have to switch back and forth because of the phillips. So I can put this inside the modified container...construct a neck cord or key chain attachment to compliment my army knife and fast back and 6 inch Milwaukee caribeiner ready vice grips with demolition blade...
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA 3 года назад
They should sell these in kit options. Stubby with... Common bits... Security bits... Allen bits... Mini socket bits / Metric. Marine grade ...impact ready. Which is what these state they are. Even a caribeiner kit ... I'd buy one for each kit.

The first one I seen like this was Craftsman though bits were reguarding steel. The Milwaukee bits are better material. I am not sure about the size of the Craftsman if it was smaller or not. I know a lot of brands of came out since then. I also left my Craftsman in the locked position.
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA
@VRCM_Skywarn_XUSA 3 года назад
I might be able to fasten a loop to this for a caribeiner....or wrist or neck cord....If dropped or lost. If it came with a knife bit...even exacto and a light or sparker bit. That would be the bomb. You could sharpen one of the slotted drivers to be a cutting blade. Or even a removable accessory that doubles as a lever for more torque? To help u get on it. If need be. Push with one, ratchet with the other.
