Seen way too many people focusing solely on Minato's feats within this chapter, rather than the actual meat of the chapter which was the bond and chemistry between these two characters, both in battle and out of it. I definitely agree with a lot of your points. I think the nine tails mind battles are like Dragon Ball image training where it's more of a battle of will than a battle of strength, and the physical battle is just mental representation to help process that. Half of chakra is spiritual energy, so I think Minato's Rasengan clashing with the bijou bomb is not those actual attacks, but Minato connecting his spiritual energy with Kushina to give her the motivation to reign the nine tails under control. The rasengan representing the chakra control Minato has developed to help him counter the power of tailed beasts in a more abstract sense rather than a showing of attack potency.

I think that any time they fight the 9 tails within someone is meant to be a battle of will and not a physical actual battle.

The Hashirama and Minato thing could have also meant that Minato was not necessarily stronger than Hashirama, but was in the same tier of Shinobi as Hashirama power wise, which are two different things. It's like how Madara is in the same tier of Shinobi as Hshirama power wise, but Hashirama was still way stronger.

About the seal weakening, that was established in Naruto it is why Naruto was able to get more and more 9 tails chakra as the story went on. It was heavily implied Karama gave Naruto chakra in an attempt to weaken the seal and eventually to break the seal. Which he tries to get him to do in Naruto's fight with Pain.

At 10:00 you can see Kurama still gathering the energy for the Tailed Beast Bomb and later when they clash you can see the energy particles that gather into Tailed Beast Bombs still around it, so I think that implies that it's not actually complete.

I believe, If you read it in terms of using chakra to calm down the tailed beast/ taming them, with the medium of either wood style or fuinjutsu. It could mean that Minato has the same calming/ taming type of chakra as Hashirama. That what I think the statement means.

I strongly think you're mistaken in saying the Rasengan is incomplete for another 3 years. Minato had already been developing the Rasengan for 3 years at the start of this OneShot. The evidence is in the current state of Minato and Kushina's relationship and how close they are already. He was making the jutsu for her in secret for their protection and because he loved her. Also there's proof in how Minato and Jiraiya got back to training for it as if it wasn't the first time. When Jiraiya taught Naruto the Rasengan, he explained there were 3 stages to technique. Spin, Power, and Retention. All we saw Minato & Jiraiya do is perfect the Retention steps as a result of years of "practicing" the steps. The battle with the 2 Jinchuriki at the start just gave Minato more inspiration to practice again. Jiraiya's popsicle gave Minato the final "light bulb" moment to perfect the technique. Basic level Rasengan is perfected already by the battle with the 9 tails.

I like the idea of Minato being in a similar tier to Hashirama, it straightens the earlier notion of him being the strongest earlier in the story, like what if in terms of power he could be a blonder, less experienced, more poised, more adroit Hashirama without wood style or asura reincarnate hax, with a comparable aptitude for Sealing jutsu

I will say this, Minato going from running away from 2 jinchuriki to being able to match complete Kurama could be attributed to Minato getting a power up from his feelings towards Kishina, we know characters can get permanent boosts in power due to their emotions like how Sasuke became almost unrecognizable by getting a hatred boost after finding out the truth about Itachi. This makes more sense considering half of Kurama just straight up overpowers 6 tailed beasts at once while Minato who’s poisoned, impaled, tired, and heavily nerfed by being an astral projection can match a full Kurama, Kushina being involved should at the very most only make up for how the previously mentioned ailments are affecting Minato’s performance. This can be further backed by Kakashi mistaking KCM2 Naruto for Minato implying he believed Minato could achieve a similar feat of strength. Now to get to the translation, I translated it and it basically comes down to “to think a shinobi of this level exists since the time of the first generation of the leaf” so it seems to imply that Minato is the strongest since Madara and Hashirama, not equal nor does it actually seem to be only talk about sealing Jutsu, more so speaks to Minato’s potential which I do believe as Hokage was comparable if not stronger than Hashirama due to numerous part 1 statements. That Kurama statement just means skill level he is on par with Hashi. That doesn't mean he has his power or total strengrh but his skill is up there with the best of the best.

TG, do wanna note that Kushina has already been a jinchuriki for at least a couple of years. We know she was a jinchuriki since the time Kumo tried to kidnap her which would've been around her time as a genin probably anywhere from 3-5 years prior. Could've been even longer before around the time she was brought to the village as an academy student at like age 6-8. Essentially, she was having a nightmare of probably what Kurama first told her as a new jinchuriki

I'm taking a crack at the translation, gonna break it down piece by piece. Unfortunately, most of the times translations especially from Japanese to English where the sentence structures and grammar is very different causes there to be multiple interpretations, so I'll give my best (for context, I've formally studied Japanese for about 3 years now and although my conversation skills are rusty, I still keep up with the language reading and writing). The first sentence 四封印を自己流で増強して やがる! is not difficult to break down. 四封印 is the tetragram or four symbol seal that is used for the kyuubi jinchuriki (Kushina & Naruto both have this seal). を is simply a direct object that comes immediately before the verb with the noun before (in English it's typically the opposite. An example is "I buy flowers" being はなを買います = flowersはな = flowers and 買い = to buy and ます = present/future tense) Bit of a tangent but to continue, 自己流で増強して can be broken into 自己流 (meaning own way/own style with the main kanji 自 meaning one's self). で at least in this sentence as a particle just means and 増強して with the て (-te) form being an extremely useful form of conjugation that has a ton of uses. Simply here, combined with the 増強し it's basically saying he's enhancing or any synonym to enhance or increase. やがる - Not gonna lie, haven't ran into this but doing research it's a verb ending kinda similar to the あげる/くれる /もらう but here's the translation off a Japanese grammar website: "verb stem + やがる is used to express contempt for something or hatred for something / someone. It is a strong form, with a vulgar sound, and would not be used in normal conversation. It is more frequently encountered in rough language in manga or movies etc." So, to combine it all, this sentence can be translated to and this is Kurama speaking about Minato (based off the やがる it's in disdain or hatred that this happened): "He enhanced the tetragram seal in his own style/ability/way! Incredible!" Now to the next sentence, 初代柱間以来の忍か・・・こんなやつがまだ・・・！To start off, the 初代柱間 means First Hashirama with 初代 (shodai) is what is used to signalize first generation and is used when talking about the 1st generation Kage. Translator didn't make it up cause typically just having this can easily translate to Lord First and in this case Lord First Hashirama. Still, not a big deal but it is meant to give title to Hashirama as the 1st Hokage. 以来の忍か is a bit tricky especially since the 3 dots after typically means that one is still talking as a run-on sentence or a pause in a sentence. Anytime a sentence ends with か it's like a question mark (well, there's some cases sentences can combine and there still be a か at the end of the first sentence which this seems to be one of those cases). Like your translator friend said TG, the 来 is the verb stem for 来る = to come but means - "ever since" Given the dots, we can infer this sentence: "A shinobi since the Lord First Hashirama" Then, こんなやつがまだ is pretty much a phrase that is showing how surprised Kurama is. So to be honest the Viz and OPscans translations aren't too far off. You kinda have to say it in your own words the second sentence involving Hashirama since there's no direct translation. But for the most part, Kurama states Minato enhanced the seal in his own way and no one since Hashirama has been able to do that which Kurama is amazed at. So for me, this just means that even as a teen, Minato's sealing jutsu and more in particular his bijuu suppression jutsu (by way of seals opposed to Madara by genjutsu and Hashirama wood style sealing/brute force) hasn't been seen since Hashirama. This is EXCLUDING Uzumaki clan members given the context of the panel before with Kurama stating this brat isn't even an Uzumaki. So outside of the Uzumaki, only Hashirama compared to suppressing a bijuu using sealing jutsu in their own way (again, Madara used either brute force or genjutsu and while Hashi could use brute force, he had sealing too). So yes, this is in regards to his skill in sealing jutsu

I don't know if he mentioned this later in the video but her chains get stronger by the year so the chains she used to help Naruto with half of the nine tails are stronger than the chains she used to help Minato with the full nine tails. I don't know much about translation but the version I've seen has the nine tails state Minato as being of the same caliber as the first, likely saying Minato is a genius on similar levels with the first, not that he is as strong because you have to take in account that Minato is around 16 years give or take, also to all that saying that Minato got nerfed, just look at every time Naruto went tail beast mode then remember that he only has half of the nine tails, also to all who are complaining that Minato is weaker than Kushina Wow, he's weaker than a full-blooded Uzumaki who is said to as a child have a special chakra so powerful even among other Uzumaki that she was selected to be the nine-tail vessel as a child. Nice vid. I've personally never taken the astral or mindspace stuff as directly factual for Scaling purposes at least. If i did, then start of shippuden sasuke could backhand 3 tails naruto like he did in naruto's mindspace. Or sage naruto would be comparable to 1/2 the 9 tails but naruto would later imply that kcm was a significant upgrade on sage mode despite it basically being the 1/2 9 tails power. Nonetheless, if you took the mindspaxe stuff as factual you'd run into some scaling plot holes. If minatos rasengan was 9 tails biju bomb lvl and when he hit obito with it obito was hurt but not life threatening. Then konan with a fraction of her paper bombs from an attack blows off obito (who should be stronger) arm so konan has > 9 tails biju bomb lvl. Jiraiya matches konan in base so he has 9 tails lvl attacks. He then uses sage mode and pain completely outclasses him. Then pain who is fatigued but is still struggling to combat 1/2 the 9 tails. This doesn't make any sense since base jiraiya would be supposedly 9 tails lvl and sage mode is a minimum 10x amp and pain is notably stronger than jiraiya. All in all great vid

Just remember that Kurama was being suppressed by Kushina and just because this is full Kurama it doesn't mean he is putting a 100% of his chakra into the tailed beast bomb. This has been explained multiple times in the series that depending on how much chakra you put into the jutsu it will change the power and scale of it.
