Tbh I don't think Madara really cares about defeating Hashirama, just him reliving the good old day's. Even in the final valley fight Madara had no intention of killing Hashirama instead he wanted a pound of flesh to awaken the rinnegan.

Clearly minato could have healed from the wounds, after splitting the fox in two, he technically had a soul available. If anything that part of the fox had no one to fight with internally, which would allow that fox to obtain the body and roam freely in minato's body. and likely that minato fox possessed body would destroy the village for funzies. (What if)
Hashirama was always holding back when fighting madara I think. He never really wanted to kill him and he always had moves that could have stopped him but he always tried to convinced madara to change his ways. To think he had deity gates even before the valley of death fight is insane.

I think u guys fail to realize technique is key ! How would hashirama ever touch minato his speed counters hashirama healing those huge trees and golem and statue would not be able to touch minato ! And I don’t know for sure if hashirama can heal from a Kunai n the head ! Also it would be down to close quarters hashirama fighting style plays into minato hands ! While minato fighting style doesn’t play into hashirama hands ! Also n kcm2 they powers are the same shit loads of chakra minato would have similar healing abilities! And about the same attack power !
I think you're definitely downplaying Hashirama's sealing feats He has the highest feat of the deity gates surpressing the Juubi briefly If anything the Minato oneshot implies Hashirama had sealing jutsu as well when Kurama compared Minato to him That's one interpretation at least.
Its crazy how they say kushina teached minato sealing justsu... she was a child when going tyo the village at max she learned most of them from mit... the wife of hashirama, said to master all jutsu he attempted.... he was way stronger than madara.
To be fair Pain was basically exhausted from using the village destroying almighty push. It literally took a toll on his lifespan, and he had to fight Naruto who was freshly ready for battle, had nagato been at full strength from the start he would have easily beat naruto, especially if hinata did not intervene.
Naruto was not fully ready for battle he had been training in nature chakra or sage mode which kills 9/10 users in training and was training 24/7 sage during the day and rasenshuriken at night they both were worn out but their also both uzamaki's so they still at 50% have 5 times the chakra as any jonin

Tendo could have pulled naruto as he later did, make him unable to move by stabbing him as he did later and have the female pain transport them to akatsuki's base. Tendo not being at full power gave naruto a shot at fighting, making sage mode insanely overrated.
@@mariowarion yea i agree, he did ultimately end up piecing naruto though. you could argue he won against the 6 tails too because kurama had to draw out more power in order to avoid being crushed by planetary devastation.
But you can argue Naruto not being at full strength and training using a technique that kills and exhausts most users, and a justu that uses more chakra than characters like ten ten even have, could possibly be the reason that pain was able to beat him until he got assistance from the 9 tails, you forget Hinata didn’t help she just got her hind end handed to her, ripped away and given back again. Which caused Naruto to go into a 9 tailed rage, also talkin bout help when pains while MO is literally jumping with 6 people

Just wanna point out that Minato didn't just teleport the entire 9 tails after whipping Obito, he actually teleported Kurama along with a second bijuu dama which detonated at the new battlefield.
Oh I think they’re still relevant even in the new era for sure. I think folks sleep on a lot of characters from Shippuden just because conventional wisdom says power creep should’ve left them behind, but that’s not always so. Hashirama should be behind Naruto at this point but not that far behind. Boruto is out here now using Minato’s signature technique which tells you right there Minato could still get some work done. There are lots of characters people don’t realize would probably still be able to kick plenty of ass. One of my go to examples is Nagato/Pain. Bro wasn’t beaten, he was talked down. He still had it in him to stay relevant to the power scales well into the War Arc and probably in a more minor way into the Boruto era.
Shin at best for villains chronologically. It's difficult to say for the others, but Minato may be able to scrape out a win against Ao. Ao is as far as either of them get though
my headcanon theory of hashirama's instant use sage mode is from his freakish chakra reserve and the nature of his chakra. his chakra forms life with wood release. sage mode is the world's natural energy. the fact 1st can use all 5 natures and blossom life. i think he can just focus all of his chakra together and infuse it throughout his entire body. his pupils don't change just his facial features. he just pulls and condenses all of his natural chakra together to be one with his chakra. this would explain why he doesn't need to pull from nature because 1st is a force of nature himself in his own chakra pool.
Both of them are true warriors. Wnere minato has a bijuu and is fast flying raijin, hashirama has wood style and his own sage art. Hashirama at full strength went up against madara back in the Days. But in Shippuden a whole shinobi army was needed. I hoped we got a extended fight hashirama versus madara like in the OVA.
kcm1 minato has a chance if it's alive hashirama, because of the stamina and neeeding to wear him down long enough to use reaper death god, assuming he'd even be able to use it as an edo tensei.

I think if Minato was born earlier and was taught under Hashirama and trained and fought against stronger opponents a lived until he was over 30 he could of mastered sage mode very early and more jutsu’s where he could of surpassed Hashirama. He just didn’t have any opponents to make him push himself to get stronger since he was the strongest in his time period
yep, and Hashirama had Madara, Minato wasn't a reincarnation of Ashura or Indra which automatically gives them not only power but a VERY strong rival, noone in Minato's time really gave him much of a challange compared to that.
If you take them in their strongest forms so give Minato access to Toad Sage Mode and KCM, I think Minato wins simply off a speed blitz in my opinion. Hashirama is a durability monster but no amount of healing factor prevents you from being decapitated. A human body is still a body, a neck is still just as easy to slice as ever. Hashirama is a monster in that all of his stats are basically topped out, but he is not the fastest Shinobi or the hardest hitter, he's just a crazy beefy all-rounder, but he has certain flaws, like not having the speed to keep up with Minato, or not having a dojutsu to resist a Tsukuyomi from Itachi, and so on. There are Shinobi who have viable win-conditions vs. Hashirama.

You forgot to mention the fact that sage mode amps the sensory abilities and perception of hashirama which permits him to sense attacks without the need to see them. Madara while having hashirama's sage mode dodged a téléportation attack from tobirama. So hashirama should be able to react to minato's flying raijin on top of fact that he knows and used to how it operates
No, that was never stated as a general ability for all sage mode. This is an ability, as far as we know, exclusive to toad sage users. Like he said in the video, we don’t know anything about hashiramas sage mode or the amps that it gives him. We don’t even know the degree of strength hashirama comes to when he uses it.

That proves that all sage modes can save from deadly attacks. That was the only chance of Minato defeating Hashirama. And he can't use his only chance against Hashirama. Hashirama low diff him.

You have to realize that Madara is going against a much weaker opponent as ems sasuke is nothing compared to ems Madara. Also Madara wasn’t blind fighting sasuke, he has one rinnegan. As for tobirama it can easily be said that Madara is used to flying raijin attacks, as that’s not tobiramas first time using it in a fight. Also tobiramas flying raijin is slower than minatos while the madara who dodged it was amped by the rinnegan as well as hashirama cells. Theres absolutely nothing that concretely reveals the attributes of Senju sage mode. There’s more evidence leaning to other reasons rather than senju sage mode. No, all sage mode is absolutely 100% not the same. Simply go compare toad sage Naruto to snake sage kabuto. They have completely different abilities. Minatos only chance of beating hashirama doesn’t exist unless you mean base hashirama vs edo kcm2 minato. Senju sage mode hashirama scales far higher than all forms of minato. Even though it makes hashirama stronger, we don’t exactly know how.

On top of that, Hashirama's base speed is no pushover. Minato's base speed was compared to KCM1 Naruto. Edo Rinnegan Madara reacted and blizt KCM2 Naruto who should scale higher than base Minato in speed. Yet rinnegan Madara is slower than alive blind Madara. The same alive Madara that alive Hashirama had no problem with keeping up with in taijutsu. So if KCM1 Naruto=Minato's base speed
Okay hear me out. Tobirama created that justu at 16 years old. And Hashirama helped not only that he's able to counter it like Madara he's got to tag him. And then hit him. And a Rasangan isn't one tapping Hashirama. And I don't see how Minato is gonna deal with deep forest bloom or emergence, or wood Golum. Or any other crazy crap Hashirama can do. Like heal arms instantly close all his wounds instantly. Without trying. He's on a different plain of power.

I don't think they were close to full power as edo tensei. When Madara came to life he bodied everyone in base. I think that a fight between Minato and Hashi would like a boruto fight. Wide scale attacks wouldn't work on either person. It would be all close quarters

I love the way you go over the facts, with each ninja's jutsu's, abilities, strengths, & weaknesses... I would love to see who would win between Sasuke Sarutobi & the old leader of the Uzumaki clan I forgot his name, since they were both stated to be stronger than Hashirama & Madara at the time. I would love to know how Hashirama learned Sage Mode, he needs more screen time..
I agree with you it’s not as close as people would want and it’s heavily in Hashirama’s favor. I tend to interpret the times people say “Minato was the greatest” or “Hiruzen was the greatest” with that same qualifier you basically applied, “in their day/of their generations.” But Hashirama and Madara remain at the pinnacle of ninjatude until Naruto and Sasuke. Would still probably be a hell of a fight though.
The Flying Thunder God Second Step/Level technique isn't faster than the normal FTG Technique; it's just a two-stage technique (that Obito was unable to react to in time).
Name one fight minato won with his overwhelming body flicker? But yet in the war arc he out sped the other hokages 🤔. Does that make sense. His body flicker never gave him victory against any of his known opponents ( not obito, not raikage, not bee, not madara, & not the 50 ninjas).
I believe that you are right especially about how unlikely it would be for the two of them to fight in the first place it would ve interest to see how much more minato could grown had he has been able to learn directly from hashimara.
Also we don't actually get to see Minato grow as much as hashirama pretty much because he died way younger then hashirama did. I think it would be a better match up if Minato had more growth.
A dope comment I saw on Quora a while back stated this : *His chakra levels will never reach hashirama's level, but his skills will make him an unmatched threat to anyone* *Minato Namikaze was not the god of shinobi, he was their death reaper* Both of these Hokage are dope and unmatched in their retrospective attributes. Storywise we know generally The Ashura/Indra incarnates will be the strongest seemingly. So you really gotta give it up to ninja who names reach that level of renown like Minato did💯

Even with kakashi hax his stamina hasn't been shown to be able to substain against someone like hashirama. We already know kakashi can't kamui large things.. I love this approach! Finally a video on the subject which actually treats a fight like a fight, and not like a spreadsheet. Let me explain, but i am bad at being concise: 100% of the existing videos look in the data books and then to manga evidence and say oh of this dude beats this dude but the first dude beat the third dude, then the second dude who beat the first dude must clearly beat the third dude... no? Its like saying Rock paper scissors that scissors beat rock because they beat paper which beats rock, but this is false because you are looking at circular balanced matchups. Now let me explain what i mean by a fight like a fight. In a fight you might be the best swords man in the world but if you bring your sword skills into a dogfight with fighter planes they mean nothing! If you try to engage in melee combat vs the worlds greatest swordsman in your F35 or SU-52 in the ardenne forrest or inside osaka castle, you wont even get the jet inside the mission perimiter. bUt pEd3AR yOU ArE nOT gONA mElEE wITh aN f35! Correct that is the point! You wouldn't fight on the enemies premise if you can avoid it! This is why Hokage pick their teams for each mission with consideration and deliberation! This is why Hokage is a lot of governing and paperwork alone in due to the number of C-Rank missions with simple yet important tasks. In Fact its one of the main Reasons why in my Opinion the UCHIHA SHOULD have had a constant pressence within the Hokage Office as Head of Police, the Hokage leadership model is actually quite dumb. Having a so called "minimal-state" is an extreme liability both for justice and for the people in charge. In Naruto and Boruto it looks like the Assistant is a wonder fix, but then you are ignoring the facts, one of the reasons why things are better under Naruto post 4th war, is because the villages share the burden of governance, and help each other out through diplomacy. The Funato war in the mists, is mitigated because the Leaf just happens to be able to help on their own accord, while the leafs research mission is assisted by the mist as well. they are essentially 5 Ministers to deal with problems and can load distribute the governance by manpower-resources in the executing power branch. Before this time the individual villages were prone to coup detat and when international subjects came up they were solved with wars usually they came together, it is as they say: 1 misfortune usually doesn't come alone. Okay but what does this have to do with the fighting matchups? So glad you asked! First of all being able to assign the best ninja for the job, not a new concept it predates villages, but was systematized and increased survival rates when it did get implented and since improved with the emergence of the shinobi village system. The very point is that this has existed for so many generations because its pretty smart! Minato loses to Hashirama because he is weak vs. Hashirama not because Hashirama is broken AF. Powerscaling isn't that simple. In fact if that was the case Naruto and Sasuke would have STOMPED Jigen even with his little juubi temporary power buff. Jigen might have just about matched Naruto but his body took an insane toll hence why he had to undergo this special sleep Amado helped him with. That and the fact that this concept is ancient and still borderline top-shelf inspiration from Dragonball which Kishimoto and his team are greatly respectful of and Akira Toriyama's style in general. Anyway i nearly digressed here, the point is that Jigen was the worst possible Match up for Naruto and Sasuke, but they had no other people in their arsenal to help with this. Naruto's and Sasukes biggest character flaw post chapter 699 is that they believe they have to do everything by themselves, because they told themselves that is how it was going to be when they made it. In fact Ashura must be in agonizing pain within Naruto, Naruto prior to being hokage never considered himself as pivotal for sucess, this was Indras philosophy; success weakened Narutos greatest strength i.e. his abilty to mobilize support from other people. Again nearly side-tracked but i have a point with this, Naruto and Sasuke decided to take on Jigen just the two of them, but Jigen had abilities tha basically nullified their combined strength even with their teamwork. The very reason why Shikamaru was promoted to chunin during the first exam arch was because he beyond any of the others not only understood this, he was able to demonstrate it. Despite him not winning his fight and he gave up, he demonstrated Tobiramas original intention of the rank, know when not to fight and save yourself rather than losing your own and your teams lives as well as the mission objective, lose the objective save your lives is the optimal outcome, a philosophy he even died for. Just as Rock Lee would be decimated in a Genjutsu or Ninjutsu only fight, Madara nearly died vs Might Guy 8Gates Midnight Elephant. Just like Boruto with no flying ability would be absolutely f'd vs the Juubikasuki even if he matched that scenario in power, and if you don't know because you are an Anime Only Fan, don't look it up, and you will likely forget the mention of it before anything is spoiled anyway, so all good. Point is yeah power scaling is a start but it doesn't mean anything, you need to look at not just your afinity for a branch of shinobi styles, but the individual abilities you can use as a tool. Sasuke kind of preaches this. A ninja makes do with the tools he has. His point is that you shouldn't rely on the same party trick, you don't know which situation you will end up in, your true skill is identifying your win condition; do it fast, make a decision if its feasible, and if it is make a plan and then try executing it with skill, speed, element of surprise, and resource management in the window of opportunity while keeping an escape plan. All that while constantly being aware of resources on both sides of the fight, and not being caught off guard by enemy deception. This is what control means. Boruto being such a resource for Sasuke vs Momoshiki is what caused momoshiki, an otherwise overpowering adversary, to be defeated. Ocular powers mean nothing if they can't see the threat. Your eyes mean nothing if there's no light. Finally we have a video who opens with: Minato's skillset is like a bishop in front of a king, the bishop cant take the king, but the king can take the bishop, circumstances matter! It doesnt matter that the King can only move 1 tile, if the bishop is in range and has no legal moves. It doesn't matter if you have Water release if your adversary can perform lightning release, the strongest water dragon is worthless the moment it becomes a lightning rod. Flying Raijin L2 is worthless if you can't place a mark, or throw it anywhere. KCM is useless if your sealing wood techniques can suppress it. Byakugan is uselss if you get bloking smoke, or suffer sensory overload. As Itatchi puts it, ALL techniques have at least 1 weakness. Just pray you don't end up in a situation where you have nothing in your arsenal to utilize it. Or simply so few that you need a miracle. And that is why Hashirama wins. Also a Kage should hire ministers/secretaries.
A wood dragon that absorbs chakra is useless if it can't get hold of its enemy... Please explain how Hashirama will be able to tag Minato... Next to impossible. Even if he does Minato can just teleport away again. Even Ay who is most certainly faster than Hashirama couldn't tag him...
This is mostly a hard fight of 2 vastly different styles of combat with minato being all about speed and single target attacks which usally gives him a massive advantage in 1v1 but hashirama is just so powerful with his ninjutsu and regen i dont see minato having a way to put hashirama down permanently barring a jutsu that seals him away. That said hashirama also would have huge trouble tagging minato given his speed and teleportation so killing minato would be nigh impossible outside a scenario that prevents him from just leaving the battlefield to recover. In such a scenario though hashiramas insane aoe and stamina would give him the overall edge.
I think it would be interesting to see Hashirama using his wood style to pull in all of the life force energy around him, including Minato’s, thus making Minato tired.
No matter what happens, at least we know that Minato will always be the coolest Hokage, for me the coolest character in the whole anime. If Minato hadn't died so soon, he would have surpassed Hashirama for sure. But I don't understand one thing and I'm a little angry about how they made Hashirama's mokuton OP. They want too much from the wood, when the mokuton can deter and stop the "bijuu dama". Even wood should have weaknesses like flammability not to mention something that creates something like an atomic explosion. They also never explained to us how Hashirama came to such a unique sage mode. The fact that Minato does not control sage mode fully is only the reason that Kishimoto realized at a certain time that he wanted Hashirama to be stronger than Minato, so he had to make him weaker in some way. I see no reason why a genius like Minato should have a problem mastering a full-fledged sage mod.

I feel like minato wins at any point if he can sneak a seal on hashirama (which from what ive seen manga & anime that's exactly how he fights 🤔) now when kcm1 & sage mode comes in like a prolonged battle he wins in certain ways (i.e. what he was finna do to killer bee) but i will say throughout all fights between him & hashirama its basically a fly & fly swatter once he get lucky its over 1000🫸's =GG if one lands Pollen Field=GG KCM RasenTailed Beast Bomb + 2nd Stage Flying Ryjinn = GG Speed + hand placed sneaky seals= Win in all ways Hashirama didnt know minato upgraded the flying Ryjinn twice times technically he only learns about the upgrades during the 4th war and if they had a normal meeting on the battlefield, barley knowing anything about eachother, like he did with obito he wins but if they know what eachother is capable of its a hard win for minato except my specific conditions above
Sage Hashirama allows him to dodge most of minato’s attacks and with his woodstyle jutsu KCM is literally almost out of the picture since his woodstyle allows him to suppress the nine tails cloak. Not to mention Minato’s sage mode is not that good, after one teleportation and one rasengan from sage minato, dude lost sage mode as fast as he got it.
Minato and Kushina were likely closer to twenty in Minato Gaiden, not twenty. Minato is not using Kyūbi Mode, he is using the full Kurama Mode. which is much stronger than Kyūbi Mode. Hashirama's Wood Release automatically gave him both Water and Earth Release, so he did have a slight advantage in learning all five.
Minato is a genius and probably has better technique and iq but he also died young at 24 so he never got to his potential. Hashirama is a cheat code, his charkra levels are similar to Naruto’s, he’s completely mastered sage mode, he has far better healing than Tsunade with not even have to weave any hand signs plus he’s got his overpowered wood release that can summon whole forests and poison with also being able to summon his overpowered massive wood golems. I can’t see anyway of Minato winning this fight besides using a sealing technique but that even probably wouldn’t work
Theory, what if his sage mode is intrinsic to his wood style.Wood style is the only ninjutsu that is "alive" what if the trees he grows gather sage energy for him and he then absorbs it.
Hashirama may be stronger, but how does he hit Minato? Wouldn’t the battle just end in a draw if Minato can’t kill Hashirama and Hashirama can’t touch Minato?
Hashirama has big aoe attacks that Minato wouldn't be fast enough to get out of the way of, and if he teleports to another are with FTG then he just BFR's himself.

Realistically, Minato should be able to one shot blitz because he literally teleports especially if there’s no prep involved. Hashirama also has no knowledge of Minato while Minato has some knowledge of hashi assuming it’s in characters. People always make the excuse that Hashirama is super hard to kill but he was literally going to kill himself with a Kunai. And for all the hype we had, we’ve seen he’s not a comparable healer to Tsunade. Yeah he instaheals cuts and scratches, but Tsunade survives bisection, heart stabs, internal organs being destroyed, shinra Tensei, basically anything short of decapitation. Minato should win because speed is usually the deciding factor in Naruto battles
Kill himself with a kunai? That version of him has no feat or statements. Not comparable to Tsunadi? Madara literally said she's inferior 😂 Minato was born after Hashirama and yet despite all his speed and jutsus...he never stole the title of "god of shinobi," despite being famous

Minato speed blitzes hashirama. He tags him then teleports behind him and rasengans his head off 7/10 times. And that’s a hill I’m willing to die on lol
Yeah but even though his sealing jutsu isn't "that good" according to himself, he's damn doof with it and could definitely do something like sealing him
The dome for Hashirama as a point is not necessarily that powerful. It would be similar to Unchange versus Undead Unluck. Andy needed Fuko to deliver the power that killed Gena, but Minato would have the ability to deliver the attack on his own. This is not to say that other jutsu might be able to finish Minato, but the dome is too big to be an effective shield against Minato. The point is that I think you overvalued that dome in your argument. I do not believe that it could stop the rasengan at all as a mark inside the dome would allow the attack. It doesn't matter how much energy it can stop if it cannot be deployed between the user and the energy.
Raikage is faster than Minato he doesnt react as fast as minato but the raikage faster. I can use this argument raikage almost blutz teleportation and ftg
The Raikage is not faster than Minato. There's a very good reason the databooks call Minato the greatest in godlike speed. And there's a very good reason full powered KCM1 Naruto gets compared to Minato after he blitzed past the Raikage with body flicker

If Minato Tagged 1st Hokage,while stationary blocking a teleported- biju strike.An Odama Rasengan , while enclosed in Hoshirama block dome . Or the 1st Death Seal contract Block, in history .Or an Orichamaru partial seal _hand or feet can lead 2 defeat, 4 Hoshirama. An evil Hoshirama would summon the Gedo Maza with his Biju counters & make Minato ,leave the destroyed battlefield injured ,... but 4 & 2 do what, when he returned. Minato has a song in real life of the Life & Death of the 3rd Hokage. Hoshirama always admit to being out of practice when not in his time. Minato planned 4 time travel battles.
Minato with the fastest reaction speed and instant teleportation spam kills everything. Ninjas are glass cannons, add the fastest ninja alive with a kunai and he kills everyone. If a kunai to harishama jugular doesn't do anything, just go for all his other vital points like he did to those thousand ninjas in just one of his battles.
Hashirama would crush Minato easily, This man took on Madara Uchiha who had the EMS, perfect susanoo, and kurama at his disposal, and crushed the susanoo and kurama i with relative ease, Minato could never

I mean his healing kinda screams "katsuyu". but again, just speculation. Although at the same time, who says he has to be a specific type of sage? Maybe just him being you know "him" allows him to pull in nature energy and the marks are just his own design. he is a god
