This man pain fought the entire leaf village by himself and then proceeded to nuke it literal moments before Naruto showed up and people sit there like Pain was at 100% fighting sage naruto when he clearly isn't. On top of this Naruto came into that fight with FULL INTEL OF ALL OF PAINS ABILITIES, like bruh why do people genuinely think that Pain was just fighting naruto like he was fighting any other opponent.

I always saw Pain and Obito as a partnership. A Principal and Superintendent, Pain was indeed the real leader of the Akatsuki and Obito was there to supervise just like how Principals are in charge of a school while Superintendents check to see if the school is functioning as intended, a school's goal is to produce exceptional students while the Akatsuki's goal was to collect the tailed beasts. Obito didn't really shoot up in the powerscaling department until the following arcs because he was the hot new thing.

The things is, if Shikamaru is Able to bind the paths, other people from the Village could come in to Support, even though I don't know if anyone would even be able to help out in a meaningful way considering the Pain Durability. Choza and Tsunade are like the best bet in terms of power, but they are both already chakra drained/beaten up and Guy and Lee are both not available. But even if anyone would be able to injure them, Momoshiki was able to absorb the Jutsu while being restricted by it, so the Preta Path probably could do as well, which would mean it could attack Shikamaru and disrupt him from binding the other paths. All in all, just happy Tobirama got a pretty confident W out of this one lmao

Keep in mind Tsunade already had Katsuyu on the field with her chakra split to heal and attach to ALL of the fighting ninja in the village including the civilians. Also she didn’t use Byakugou probably because of Katsuyu being on the field. TL;DR: I think at full strength she would take out Naraka, Animal, and probably Asura Path before she gets smashed.

Another strategy for the Second and Fourth is to take out the Animal Path and then teleport the other Paths to separate location so they can't help each other.

Since Shikamaru was the last one you addressed, I'll offer a long shot argument. First of all, if we are putting the Hokage in Naruto's place, then they should only have to deal with what Naruto had to deal with, and we should assume that Leaf events happened pretty much in the same way, leading up to the designated Hokage's entrance. Aside from Tsunade, I suspect that none of our candidates will choose a direct confrontation as their first move. They will likely gather as much intelligence as they can, before taking any of the paths on. Shikamaru would probably have some intelligence advantages that Naruto didn't initially have. Here's my longshot scenario: Shikamaru finds out the abilities of Most of the paths. He then works out a way to strategically posses various paths, to take out the other paths. He enters the battle late, and figures out some master strategy to take them all out. He also figures out the purposes of the rods, and finds Nagato, the same way Naruto does, and dispatches him. Pain is gone, but so is the Leaf - forever. On the other hand, he might not be prepared for Konan & might be stopped there... Or maybe, Nagato could attempt to talk to Shikamaru, and they could find some common ground. Shika actually winning is a pretty big longshot. He would need MC armor. I think this is how the best battles will go, for the rest of the candidates, because they don't possess Naruto's strongest genjutsu: Talk No Jutsu. I think most have a good chance, except for Tsunade. Aside from her summoning ability, she is basically a close range melee character. The most important aspect, though, is how she was trained. Naruto's story is all about being the hyperactive knuckleheaded ninja. In other words, he has trouble focusing and paying attention, and he was very lacking in having someone that would take the time to invest in him. Even to the end, I think he had even more potential than was ever shown, because a lot of his journey was self taught. Imagine, if Naruto had been raised by the Uchia clan, and had the support of prodigies of prodigies? He could have entered the academy with all the basics down, like his son had. On the other hand, all the other predecessor Hokage have had the benefit of wartime experience and they came from a generation, that trained in more than just a handful of techniques. Pain was trained by Jiraiya, and though he had war experience of his own, it wasn't as a soldier. Perhaps, it was more like militia experience. So, Naruto had a lot of power, but his experience was low, compared to Pain's. That's why he still struggled - even with a big advantage. I think the predecessor Hokage would have an easier time, because of their experience and better use of strategy. Hiruzen might have trouble, simply because (as previously shown) he would be the most likely to directly confront Pain first thing, with the understanding that he's buying time for the village. He'd probably be able to counter most of the stuff, but I don't see him escaping becoming a rock ball. (Unless he had some powerful ranged attacks, like Itachi did)

Tobirama puts Pain in a pack; if FTG is the argument for Minato then it could be used for Tobirama too(albeit Minato's is more advanced), but also dude created a shit ton of jutsu and was battle hardened in that he played no games when it came to fighting; he didn't try to save dudes or look for the good in them, just looked for his kill lmao I can see arguments against him, but I think at least 7/10x Tobirama wins 3. Hiruzen gets packed up 4. Minato packs him up; his FTG prowess is enough to separate the paths and blitz them 5. Tsunade gets packed up 5.5. Danzo gets packed up hastily, especially with how stupidly he uses Izanagi lol 6. Kakashi gets packed (unless he's 6 paths DMS, this Kakashi puts Pain in a pack) 7. Hokage Naruto packs up every Rinnegan user 8. I don’t think you can say Madara “let himself” get blitzed against Tsunade mainly because he never “let himself” get hit by someone like Raikage or the other kage he would always try to block, parry or dodge, if he genuinely let himself get hit or held back he made it clear and said so like when Ohnoki landed a hit. No such thing is said when Tsunade hit him and he genuinely looked surprised

i feel like whenever minato is mentioned in a 1 v1 scenario everyone always forgets how flying raijin can be countered. pain is essentially the perfect counter minato for one has limited kunai and 2 can't pain just almighty push or universal pull the kunai away or to him. he can control the pace of the battle by litterally controling where minato can land. or he could just send the chameleon to one of the kunai and its gg from there.

Tsunade beats pain... Katsuyu alone negates pains abilities and idk why she isn't being brought up when tsunade's nickname is slug princess/queen. Like the pains, katsuyu has shared vision but even better. Tsunade has offensive medical ninjutsu that she can use against the pains. They cannot disrupt her chakra or do no soul pulling because she will just break out of any hold they try to do. They cannot sneak up on her thanks to katsuyu and her linked vision. Katsuyu is a sensor so she can tell where the chameleon is. None of them can block an attack from Tsunade, Katsuyu deals with the summons pretty easily as her acid 1 hit ko's all of them as they cannot harm katsuyu but she can harm them. Tsunade is relative in speed to aye not faster but she can keep up with his speed. Master combatant and taijutsu master. She does not need to hit any of the pains directly to kill them as the impact from her attacks from the aoe can kill once within the aoe. She is also a master tactician and strategist, she will figure out pain's abilities and pinpoint that one of them can revive and deal with him 1st. With katsuyu being present, she can even trap pain in her body and suffocate them, use offensive medical ninjutsu, etc.

To be fair to Tsunade, if she was coming fresh to the Pain fight, then she would be able to summon a larger portion than what she summoned in the OG Sannin battle, meaning she her summon might readily deal with the Animal Path's summons.

Before watching, here's my take on this Hashirama: 💀 Tobirama: This will be difficult because Preta Path can absorb any ninjutsu but I think Tobirama can win high difficulty with Flying Raijin slashes. Chibaku Tensei will not work because Tobirama can just teleport away Hiruzen: Old Hiruzen should be around Orochimaru level, the same Orochimaru that got no diffed by a 13 years old Itachi. Pain low diffs Minato: IMO base Minato will take this one probably low to medium difficulty. As I said, ninjutsu won't work so he has to rely on Flying Raijin and sealing jutsus. He can use Senjutsu but I don't think it's as good as Naruto's Senjutsu when he fought Pain because Minato claimed that Senjutsu is not his best aspect Tsunade: Come on Kakashi: Kakashi low diffs. I think it's stated somewhere that Hokage Kakashi is superior to War Arc no DMS Kakashi Naruto: 💀

The Hiruzen downplay is crazy.

If Jiraya went on the pain fight prepared, like Naruto did, he would'e beaten pain much easier than Naruto did. Everybody underestimates Jiraya. Even when Itachi and Kisame were together, Itachi said that one of them will die if they fought against Jiraya - that is how strong Jiraya is. If Kisame and Itachi faought Jiraya TOGETHER, one of them (Kisame or Itachi) will die - not Jiraya. This is also why Jigen uses Jiraya's cells to make Kashin Koji - bbecause Jiraya is OP AF.

Pain is terrifying, the man lost the body of his summoning path and had to replace him with a child corpse, that was one nerf he got before the fight. Then he faught and killed everybody that matters in the leaf village only to level the entire village afterwards. That was the point when he started his fight with sage mode Naruto and he won that fight. Then fought the Kyuubi and won only for Naruto to get a buff from his dead super OP dad and go back with fully charged sage mode. Pain is totally broken it's not even close. The people who can defeat pain are literal Shinobi gods like Minato, Might Guy, Obito, Hashirama, and Madara no other Shinobi even stands a chance.

18:48 Actually, Danzo having Izanagi would give him the best chance out of the first 3 on this list of winning against Pain. You gotta remember that Izanagi isn't just a "respawn", while active you can quite literally just bend reality to your will. If Danzo wanted too, he could have made Sasuke trade places with him and kinda one shot Sasuke. When we hear the story of how Izanagi works in those filler episodes, we learn that the Uchiha were abusing this reality warping genjutsu so much that Izunami had to be created to stop Izanagi spammers, and punish them. Sacrificing a Sharingan to get like 1 minute of reality warping powers per sacrificed Sharingan is really OP.

I think Minato has 3 acceptable tiers of Ap 1. Rasenshuriken Naruto lvl (it’s a mistranslation but if you wanna use it fine) 2. Sage Mode Naruto lvl (based on the statement that says Naruto surpassed his predecessors) 3. KCM1/2 lvl based on the numerous comparisons between the forms and Minato

the Naruto/Jiraiya "who has the stronger sage mode" bit, during Naruto's training, Fukasaku did actually state that Naruto's sage mode was perfect with no "toad like" changes to his form and that he also could draw in more nature chakra than Jiraiya could. so on that i would say that Naruto hands down had the stronger form between the two

Tsunade can use Chakra Scalpels and Ranshinsou to disable her opponents without killing them. Ranshinsou alone is a pain in the ass, but what are you going to do when your muscles are cut and can't move? You need healing or regen; I don't recall Pain having those. Dunno if it's enough for her to win, but would make it easier for her to deal with summons, if not the Paths. 🤷‍♂️

We’re going to ignore Tsunade’s superior summon and its ability to be multiple in psych summons, ignore her madara blitz that given or not is still not something that the Raikage accomplished, her ability to change the terrain, and her higher intelligence and knowledge of how to neutralize some of his techniques. Now add in her ability to disable bodies as a medic and access to more nuanced techniques like meddling with the nerve systems even when she was rusty. Pain felt he would have lost had the toad known his secret from the get go. I see no reason the slug couldn’t do the same with that knowledge and against a nurfed pain.

Hey I am just here for a quick question and i think i am on the right channel for this one. Since Naruto in his seven tails rage form vs pain resisted the almighty push ( when they had their quick little swimming lession ) i was wondering, how he resisted it... I mean is this naruto immune to it, is it determined by physical strength, or did he grab the floor with 10-20 of those red arms he keeps spawning and just held against it....? any ideas why this was the only time ( since i know ) someone resisted the almighty push ?

This is just my personal theory, but I think that visual Genjutsu might affect all the Paths of Pain. Frog song only worked on 3 of the paths of pains because it’s not like they share a sense of hearing. They share vision. Therefore, if they all get hit with something like Kotoamatsukami or Tsukyomi which require visual contact, it could catch all of them, including Nagato. Again though, that’s just a theory. I’m sure this logic has some holes in it somewhere.

I really truly feel like prime Hiruzen would be able to win. He's a genius, can use all natures and just knows sooooo many jutsus. I've also come to believe that as the professor he probably has more esoteric knowlege then like 99 percent of others in the universe. I really wish we could've seen a real prime hiruzen vs 6 paths of pain.

Ive always seen Nagato as the strongest character in naruto until Juubito. No one alive at the time is stronger than him until OBITO gets the rinn and starts the transformation. Id argue he beats Tobirama but loses to minato and hashirama.

I am pretty biased towards Minato, but putting that aside I’m pretty sure he stomps Pain. If he’s given the same information Naruto is given he can dismantle the path that heals the others pretty fast and Minato has the reaction to not get hit by universal pull. The summons aren’t shown to be extremely fast and Minato would likely receive the same frogs help that Naruto received. The path that absorbs Justus would only be able to absorb his Rasengan but Minato can just warp behind him. The Diva path is the only one that he wouldn’t be able to one shot but Minato is definitely fast enough to attack during his 5 second cool down for almighty push.

I know this isnt really about Naruto but my thoughts were always if Kurama would have allowed ma & pa to fuse with Naruto removing the time limit on sage then Naruto wins the fight without going kurama rage mode

Givin the same information about pains abilities, most hokages would do really well. One of the biggest problems would be pains summoning jutsu.
