This video is part of a electronic project for a contest that I will be entering the for annual 2012 APA PT@CC Student Presentation Contest. This was a video presented for a research project for a class I took at my college. More recently, this is an electronic project for the annual 2012 APA PT@CC Student Presentation Contest that I dedicated to submit. I choose to talk about schizophrenia and motherhood. A single mother has a vast list of responsibilities! She must do nearly everything there is to being a parent: love, tend to her daughter, and provide for her all on her own. However, the mother and family quickly learn how difficult this task will be for her, due to her illness.
The main point of this video was to show how impacting it is to not only the person with the illness, but to the whole family. I focused in on the mother-daughther relationship as well, to show the difficulties and reconnections between a mother and daughter standpoint, because it is hard enough being a single parent, as it is being a young (daughter) girl. How much harder is it with a mother with schizophrenia?
