Important information for anyone that is having withers escape from the kill chamber. It seems from a little testing, that if you place the skulls on the soul sand standing on the obsidian between the spawn spots and the kill chamber, the wither will escape every time. The fix for this is to put an extra block for you to stand on to the side so that the wither has a clear path to the kill chamber. Somehow the player's hitbox seems to interfere with where the wither spawns. I stood south of the spawning platform and it has work 10 times in a row. Please let me know if this helps you or if you have additional information that will help make this farm more reliable.
Thank you so much. Wither kept escaping, and killing him legit in survival is stressful. This worked! I've killed him twice, hard mode. Proved I can do it. Don't mind cheesing it from now on. Thanks again.
For all who are having issues with this read below for a simple fix When spawning the wither in do not stand on the obsidian platform at all put the soul sand down and put 2 of the 3 wither skulls down and then make a small platform to the side far enough not to be in the spawn pathway for the wither but close enough to place the last skull to spawn the wither in. If you stand on the platform your hitbox messes with the spawn pathway the wither takes therefore bumping the wither OUT OF THE TRAP so as long as you stand to the side of the obsidian spawn platform for the wither it will never break out of the trap. I tried many times on creative and survival and learned this issues first hand. PS. Hopefully if @Silentwisperer reads this comment maybe he can add an extra note to his pinned comment to help all the people having this specific issue.

Why does Mojang keep making it harder to kill the wither in bedrock? It’s like they really do not care about bedrock even though more people play bedrock than java
Yes Mojang are removing features from bedrock but not from java for ex after 1.18.3 they removed shaders and night vision texture.they want people to buy java because it is more expensive and they just want more money
This does work with some minor tweaks to the set-up situation. From the test I have tried, I can say that 2 changes need to be done to the video for it to work. 1) in the video you see 4:45 the cross that is '3 out with this little T shape'. However, you only need to go one block out and that block will have the tail of the wither on it. 2) mushroom to break the end gate does for me I tried for around 20 minutes and had no success. However, Crimson Fungus on Crimson Nylium you will need 9 blocks of air between the centre of the gate (the bit we want to get rid of) and the Crimson Nylium. with these little chances you can know trap and kill the wither. i hope this helps
This needs to be bumped to the top. I wasted half a shulker box of bones just trying to get a red mushroom to grow and it never did. I tried this and it took 3 trees and worked perfectly.
Thanks for the tips. The Crimson Fungus/Crimson Nylium worked much better than the red mushroom. It only took 2 pieces of bone meal to grow while the Red mushroom on mycelium never grew for me even after 4.5 stacks of bone meal. Placing the Nylium 9 blocks directly below the center (that means only a 6 block air gap) worked for me. Also putting the obsidian T directly touching the bedrock without any extra distance works for me (I don't use the extra 3 blocks like in the video). Any extra blocks allow the wither to escape on my game. So following all your tips worked in my SPS world.
This works in my realm as of Feb 23, 2023 version 1.19.6. Just don't stand between the wither and the cage when placing skulls and reset obsidian after every use. This is a great farm as anytime we try to fight wither, the realm is so laggy it's unplayable. Thanks Silent!

Yo silent, I have a redstone build I made recently that utilizes a ghast cannon desgined by myself, and I thought is was kinda cool. Later I looked on youtube and saw that I had made something that wasn’t on youtube yet, and I was wondering if you would like to use it for a video? I also designed a ghast blaster that is very simple and doesn’t break that requires much less red stone than your design. If you want to see these I would be mote than happy to show you!
There's a method that uses the main end portal that you get after killing the dragon, it's basically the same as the old method, but you place some water buckets with a soul sand at the bottom so it keeps suffocating the Wither Boss as long as you don't hit it with a Knockback Sword.
To anyone having trouble getting the mushrooms to grow, don't be like me and remember to remove all the top blocks except the one directly above the mycelium. 🥴
Still works in 1.19. To those that say it doesn't. Don't stand in the path of the wither. I've had no issues making it work. The only time it doesn't is when I stand in its path. 10/10 as always Silent.
I just built this on a Switch running bedrock 1.19. This definitely worked like a charm. I just stayed directly under the wither killer and only got hit by ender men. Thank you for another awesome tutorial again Silent.

For those who have two teleport things leading to the end city and find out that the nearest one is thousands of blocks away, you can surround the wither with water logged stars and they won't be destroyed just make sure the back of the stairs are facing the wither and there's blocks blocking the water from going everywhere, then you can add slabs at the bottom and water log them. Just be careful because the wither can break a few blocks if you do it correctly I'd say around three to four blocks blocking the water logged stairs
For everyone om here that's worried about it breaking out. Save and exit the game. Go into your worlds settings from the world select screen, go to the bottom of the game settings, copy world. If it works, delete the old world and rename the new one. If not, delete the copied world, rinse, repeat. That way you're not wasting resources or causing unnecessary damage to the area you're working.
It's definitely not weird how mojang has yet to give tnt full drop rate for useful farms and instead gives the wither just that.. Maybe players will farm bedrock maybe they'll create cages for farms! Fighting wither legit would've been so amazing and fun on bedrock if just they change a few numbers in the code but..
Removing the end gateway block was a pain. I tried Silent's method and then tried with the crimson tree and neither worked for me. I had to make a separate creative world to find out that the red mushroom does work pretty reliably, but the few blocks above the gateway to limit the mushroom height was blocking its growth completely. Removed these and it worked after 2 bonemeal. I wasted >7 stacks of bonemeal previously. Hope this helps someone else save some time and headache.
Waking up and it’s out! Now I don’t have to fight the Wither in hard mode when I’m in my PS4 instead of my pc beacouse my ps4 lags so much when I fight it on hard mode! Thank you so much!
Bedrock 1.20.1 can confirm this does work. the only issue i had was the mushroom being stubborn but removing all but the block directly over the mushroom fixed that.

Just a reminder: If the Wither escapes you can just set your game difficulty to Peaceful and it will despawn. Or you can fight it in the End dimension...whatever works for you!
As of anyone playing in 1.20.13, the wither will spawn down one block and not suffocate. The way I found to fix this is to do the obsidian pattern that is on the top on the bottom too.
I always appreciate videos about cheesing the Wither. I don’t know if it works in bedrock, but I know using a End Gateway as a wither cage can be used to make a Wither Rose farm in Java.
Oh my God, you Sir, are a GODSEND. On bedrock, the Wither is virtually impossible to kill by normal means. I've broken a world I've spent almost 400 hours on because the Wither drops my framerate to like 5, with all the destruction on his second phase. I almost gave up on the achievement for this. 🤯 THANK YOU!!!
If you don't want skulls flying infinitely through your world the golem methods don't work anymore. Build an obsidian wall and floor around the cage lined with water on the inside. Like in the video it doesn't break the obsidian but only if there's one Wither in it. Anymore and their combined explosion damage will break thru (multiple withers don't seem to push eachother out in my testing). Hope this helps
Has anyone ever tried fighting wither in an ocean with frost walker2 boots?.. it can be a bit easier with Riptide trident to get out of water and best part about it is that dolphis do also come along to deal with that :D Edit: it's way easier specially for controlling the lag. Did use one totem,regen and strength potion and standard prot4 diamond armour. Nd I'm not particularly a skilled minecraft player

Thanks for the tutorial and congrats on reaching 500k! Quick question, since the comment you made that obsidian wont break if it is in water, can you combine the wither cage strat with water to (somehow) prevent rebuilding the cross and the other broken blocks every time? Seems like having to rebuild the cage every 2 min is a small price, but not having to rebuild at all would be priceless.
I mentioned on the previous wither cage that it was broken and the next day this gets uploaded. Amazing response time, even if this method has existed for a while.
my preferred method is to grow the crimson nether tree through the bottom of the gateway, works the same as mushroom. except you start directly under the gateway by a couple of blocks.
this method is no longer a choice because i tried to do it in 1.19.73 and the weather just fall down and destroy everything i checked so many times to see if i did something wrong but i did every step right and it didnt work
I was going to skip this one because I thought that it was the same one that I've been using the past couple of years. BUT...... instead of spawning the wither 1 block higher to suffocate it. the sacrificial blocks underneath seem to push it that half block higher so that it's fully trapped inside the bedrock. AND is safe to manually attack. Only trick yet to work out is a platform to stand on that won't get blown up. (When I attempted the 1 block higher spawn it would escape immedately once I hit it while in survival. I'd not suggest the cage method though. you have to kill it before leaving the area. but as soon as you attack it breaks the block below it and escapes. I did a little testing and it is possible to attack the wither and not loose your floor, as long as it's flooded obsidian. so thank you for rescuing the ability to attack the wither. now I just need to remember to put the sacrificial blocks under it every time.
Didn't work for me on switch. Built it exactly in all 4 directions in case I did it wrong, but it didn't work. Maybe this got patched in the recent bedrock update from a few days ago. Edit: read some other comments and I found that you can't be standing on the obsidian when the wither spawns. Worked for me.
i did it twice in creative, first on a default creative world then i made a copy of my survival world and i did it there too but i can’t do it in my actual world, everytime the wither spawns outside of it i just load a backup save file
Hey silent thanks for the quick tutorial, i was worried about the main gateway method after reading on some changes in the last update patchnotes, btw about the never stopping wither skulls flying everywhere, i may sound silly but, could building an obsidian big box around him stop the skulls? Congrats on 500k! I’ve watched a few of your vids over the past year or so, and I love your farms! You deserve more subs than what you really have, and I’m sure you’ll make it to 1 mil in no time!
As of 1.21.21 it still works perfectly fine just remove the 3 blocks above the bedrock and you should be Ok for the Mushroom. For the wither cage it works 101%
