I'm really enjoying your videos, I think the devs wanted to lock basalt and quartz to the nether, especially cause quartz is crucial to a lot of redstone, to balance it. Though I do wonder what a geologically accurate minecraft would look like
Yeah, I agree, they have to balance realism with fun gameplay and progression. They do a pretty good job overall, especially with a game that is continually getting things added to it.
@@Crashlikag6 Yea but the smooth basalt is like smooth stone you can't reverse the process its now & will be forever smooth. Kinda like real life you could turn a column into a regular looking basalt but you'd lose what makes them look cool so why bother.
Just to point out that a small mistake. The iron in the amethyst is between the atoms that form the cristalline structure. The material if formed by ionic bonds, not covalent bonds, so it doesn't have molecules.
