If it's the penguin, would the polar bear hunt them? Becuase if they do, it doesn't make a lot of sense geographically. If they don't, it doesn't make a lot of sense biologically.

Probably having a Pinguin with you in a boat on an ice highway would make it go even faster, which already makes them incredibly useful. Still, for me the crab seems like the best choice, because boats on ice are fast enough, and dog armor is just an incredibly unnecessary thing with little to no practical applications, especially in endgame. But oh well, seems like we're getting the armadillo because the community doesn't seem to have any common sense, and prefers cosmetic things rather than literally improving one of the core aspects of the game... Which is building.
I’ve used the create mod, and I definitely used the extendo grip all the time, it’s a game changer. But it’s probably worth mentioning that it gives you a very big range, waaay bigger than they’d ever give us in vanilla. I think it’s about a 9-10 block reach
I like how the penguin is the only mob in the vote where you don't need to "remove" a part of it for it to be useful. This comment was made after the real penguin video.
I've been playing with the create mod lately, and I personally keep the extendo grip on me pretty much at all times. I find it very convenient when building machines to be able to reach further.
When I played create, I also had a mod that made my character small, and also have pathetic reach (like 3 blocks or smth) so the extendo grip was amazing,

The crab is most likely going to be disappointing when people realize you can only place blocks further away I say this because they said it allows you to place blocks further away there was nothing said about increasing reach
The decision is a trick, because Mojang will make the winner terrible either way, and everyone will believe that the other two would have been awesome...
Honestly let’s do armadillo. Crab, helps a bit but just use scaffolding or something. Penguin (actual mob vote) just allows boats to go faster, which we can already do with dolphins. Pet armor has been wanted for a while, and there is always a slight chance that the Savannah could be updated (no guarantees)
I agree with the armadillo as savannas are far too empty in comparison to other biomes. Crabs only appear in mangrove swamps according to the blog post, which will bottleneck them a little as opposed to having a beach spawn. Dolphins don't speed up boats, though. Only player swim speed.
Also armadillos look adorable, or is that just me? Honestly if armadillos do get added I hope Mojave further expands on the pet armor concept later down the line
@20tigerpaw20 ah yes, like the sniffer mod that was really just a reskin of a cow. I think appreciating the tiny details that minecraft adds to their mobs makes it worth the wait. Notice how the sniffer sways when it walks? Really feels heavy.
Why stop at vertebrates? Make those anatomically incorrect spider skeletons you see on the halloween isle! Give the endermite far, far too many bones! Get wild with it!
1:42 actually, as a create mod player, I find the extendo grip very useful and I use all the time, especially while building. although since the extendo grip usually requires both the left hand slot and the chaste plate slot, so it is rare to find players using it regularly...
Penguin fin is Worthless. Boats are already really good. If you want a faster boat, put on depth strider and find a dolphin. Unless I'm climbing over ice blocks like the april fools update, this is the mid-tier option. I'm voting for *Crab*. The claws still aren't much, but giving more reach would be relevant in all phases of the game, even after you've got an elytra for transportation or fire-resist for your dogs. They have PVP implications: you can place hazards on shielding players more safely. Skilled players can block-tech better. It's possible they'll also give more attack reach. Wolf armor from armadillos wouldn't do anything either. Hazards and traps are what kill dogs 90% of the time, and those pierce armor. It would need to be very enchantable, but hopes are low considering horse armor.
My mind is set on voting for the crab, I am a builder and being able to place blocks further or even higher with the crab claw is much more efficient than having to constantly build a tower to my roof or waste bamboo on scaffolding, especially with how rare it is to find a jungle.
i think the reason why people don't use the extendo grip in the Create mod is because of the schematic cannon. coz you can just build something in creative mode and save it to a schematic/blueprint and transfer it between worlds with ease and have the cannon build it for you in survival mode. so in VANILLA i think the crab would be the best option to vote for

Next april fools, they should make a snapshot that includes all the mobs that failed the mob vote, and lie about it saying this is a part of the update

@@starplatinumzahand8174 So You're saying that their HP _is_ a problem? Then the armor is just the first step to fixing them. It's not the _only_ step, but it's a good one. Also, saying it's "useless" when it gives defense (which, by definition, is a use) is just plain incorrect. Bats, for example, are _actually_ useless; they don't even drop _EXP,_ and on Java, they can't even interact with redstone components!
@@MattTOB618 they'll probably tank an extra hit or two at best, might as well be useless considering the other issues. i personally don't think a mob vote is worth using up just to sidestep an issue that should be fixed elsewhere. it's fine if people just want the armadillo itself, but it shouldn't be with the assumption that wolves will be better.
That moment when Minecraft doesn't make a new mob vote video yet that Phoenix himself decided to do one, it honestly turned out to be actually pretty well done.
Penguins just seem to aid boat travel. I can imagine either a Dolphin's Grace for boats or coating the boat in penguin down. Either way, boat travel is already good as it currently stands, maybe even broken with packed/blue ice boating. Wolf armor might actually make companion exploration viable. Plus, everyone seems to love cosmetic customization, which feels likely for it. Vote for Armadillo!
Plus I feel like savannas need more unique character to them - they currently just feel like retextured plains, armadillo's might be a nice addition because of it too
I was originally about that armadillo... but who cares about wolf armor when you can have FASTER BOATS!! Oh, and combine this with a boat on ice, that will be SO OP!
being the utility for the penguin is just "make boat go fast" and doesn't really add anything significant, I'd rather go for the armadillo, at least then I can armor my wolves to make them actually useful in combat, penguin seems like a cool option, they're lacking overall, to be blunt about it none of the options are very compelling, should be able to make wolf armor out of leather instead, make bigger boats (like the one shown in the mob vote videos) that go faster, and while the crab claw sounds kinda neat, I doubt it will be widely used for more than a couple weeks after it's added, also didn't Mojang say something about not adding more real animals to Minecraft? could've been said to get people to stop asking about sharks, or I could be remembering that wrong.
