Welcome to the Real Life SMP season 6 of the Life Series - episode 1! This twist of the life series SMP is in virtual reality Minecraft! We have VR goggles and try to survive in VR Minecraft with only a Green life, yellow life and the infamous red life and after we are out of the series. @@kaylen661 yeah. Posey straps help, but not 100% as seen with scar, here. Also, if I've just transferred from bed to chair to go to the bathroom, a strap would be counterproductive. (I typically only use a strap if I'm going to be in my chair for my than a couple hours or when out and about and will be moving around a lot). But yeah, the cause came be different for for different folks, but it can be a regular occurrence- often questions at reception or nurses at doc appointments is if/how many falls since previous apt. Fall fallout, as it were, can range from annoying to painful to worse, as you can imagine. I'm grateful to also be blessed with a parent here who can help me back up. And my older brother got be a service dog a couple years ago with can help stabilize and sometimes prevent falls. (He also prevents falling by picking things up when I drop them, rather than me through to get it without thinking, and goes for help in I do and so on ). TL;DR it does get annoying, but I can usually move on mentally and keep my focus on the blessings in my life in spite of the troubles.

@catsandcrafts171 ...In all seriousness, I have seen and utilized a published set of protocols wherein the distances were measured in meters (sides of a grid 300m), but the area was measured in square yards (area of said grid square is 90,000 sq yds). ...I just unilaterally decided to use meters throughout, since that made the most sense for the data. US of _Americans_ eh? We're _nuts._

if you ever feel a need to use vr again- I recommend putting a box at your feet to prevent slipping, that’s what I did when I was gaming in my wheelchair- locked brakes and a tallish big heavy box to put my feet on

@@disguisedcat1750 A lot of them (at least the ones that I have seen) have levers on each wheel that lock them in case you don't want your chair rolling around while you're in it (or you don't want someone stealing it from your desk or something, lol). I know because my sister has to lock a couple of her chair's wheels because our floor is slanted and she'll drift backward otherwise 😂

I could have used a chair with locking breaks at my old job. Luckily, I had a cubicle right next to a wall so when I stood up, I made sure to put it against the wall. I made the mistake one time of facing it back and ended up on the floor when I went to sit because it shot away from me.

@@ellie-angel9254 I guess… I study dentistry and we constantly swap offices and chairs and I have honestly never seen dentist chairs with breaks. Weird, considering how accurate your hands are supposed to be. The only breaks on a chair I have seen were in op room chairs (like surgeon chairs) but these chairs have much weirder contraptions so a break is not really out of place for a 1 meter high chair with adjustable foot rest and a saddle-like seat.

@@disguisedcat1750 I'd post a link, but youtube hates it when people do that 😅 if you image search "office chair casters with breaks" you'll see what I'm talking about - it's not a brake lever, so much as it is a small lever on each wheel that can be locked. The simpler ones (simple flat circle wheel with a cheap looking switch on it) are the ones I've seen most often, including on my sister's gaming chair, as well as rolling stools in my local doctor's office. Weird to hear about the dentistry chairs - maybe they replaced them with nicer wheels for durability purposes? I'd imagine constantly locking and unlocking the wheels would wear down that mechanism over time. Now I'm curious as to why some chairs have them and some chairs don't, I'll be headed down a google rabbit hole it seems 😂😂😂

i am so so happy scar shows disability and the problems and funny moments that come with it as just a normal part of life to include in his dialogue and vlogs. i became disabled around the same time i found hermitcraft and it seriously helped me in accepting my new reality... thank you scar, and this episode was hilarious

Dear Scar, you're a hero for giving anything a go, but I think it was conclusively proved that VR in its current form has not been designed with wheelchair users in mind. Please could you feed this back to the manufacturers? It's an emerging tech so imo that is exactly the kind of info they need to improve access going forward. PS agreed your folks are the best!

A lap belt to keep you from sliding might be in order, this could possibly make ScarSafe VR. Otherwise VR is not ScarSafe without some additional preparation.

22:40 VR is no one safe, i dont recommend 😂😂 I dislocated my wrist slightly (i have a balance disorder). VR is no one safe. I always make sure someone is at home because of accidents or other stuff! Ps. Glad your ok, Scar. It was all going so well! Amd then landed into choas❤💥

Wow, I never before thought how badly VR could go for someone in a wheelchair. Looks like you need a safety harness for your lower half if you want to partake safely. Your sense of humour in the face of that was impressive, I would have been so upset. Much love to your parents helping you get back up. I like how expressive the player models are when they're using the VR controllers. Maybe that could be incorporated into Hermitcraft - like not the full VR setup but head tracking and hand tracking for when you talk to each other and stuff... Complicates things I'm sure but I think it'd be cool.
