You can make witch farm for many resources

They've been nerfed, sure, but still a good source of spider eyes and redstone. And glowstone dust. And gunpowder. It just takes a bit of engineering to set up a 3 story farm within the witch hut boundary. Oh, and the original witch that spawn in that hut is permanent, it'll never despawn, which is kind of cool. Might be useful in some other farms to trap that special witch, but by the time you need that, you probably already have name tags.

Ok. You say they're useless. But tonight i'll be making a 4 choice button panel. The witch will get -lit on fire (lava blade) -drowned (water blade) -player prox to target (via rail) -damaged (via figure out later) All timed to kill (easy yt guide). The button panel will deploy a trigger that gets the witch to drink a particular potion and on death while drinking that potion type there is a chance to drop it. So i'll be pumping out decent amounts of -fire resistance - water breathing - swiftness and health potions. I am a noob and i hope that i'm not wrong about all of this :P

You forgot to mention that there is potion's inside the cauldron sometimes ranging from poison to Instant health that you can extract with water bottles. Like if you were to extract water from a cauldron

Witches now have a guaranteed redstone drop, meaning witch huts can be decent redstone farms.

You can use a witch to make a weakness. Potion that splashes so you can turn zombie villagers into villagers. That's why you would use them right away

so part of my witch hut spawned in a plains biome and i tried building a farm around it, cleared and spawnproofed the area 30 blocks in each direction and built up 110-114 blocks up from the top of the farm and im getting 0 spawns. does the entire witch hut need to be in a swamp biome to get spawns?

They’ve added witch hut maps now. Pretty useful if you want a witch farm, otherwise not really…

Mojang should make the cauldron fuild with potions on java like bedrock. That way will add a little use to witch hut😢
