Im still not impressed on its dry land performance yet , But in the water . This machine hits hard on the low tones ... Had my first best gold day this fresh drop season , Hope you enjoy...
You do a hell of a job Mr. I always enjoy your videos. Chicago has been quite a populated area for so many years. I kinda wish I was near an old city. Good job and happy hunting. Thanks for the video
gday from oz,glad to see you sorted the core out try different tones,i like the enhanced and rich for the land good for cherry picking the deeper targets i am happy with it now iam leaving my ctx at home now, got my heavyest gold ring with it 15g 18ct came up 61 at 6 inches, half paid for it.cheers.
I been using beach low in enhanced. But seems like in enhanced, the targets are either hard hitting surface sounds or weak deep sounds with no in between. Hopefully in rich it might make the in between signals more defined. I’m still learning but on land I still can’t get over the falsing. I always go to the ctx.
@@hiluxyota7200 I still prefer the ctx with the 6 Inch coil in the trash ridden parks here but i am trying to get used to the core for when the 8x5 coil is released should make a difference. My shoulder is loving the core after the 3030
I been using beach low. With air tests it seems to hit harder than beach general. I’m going to start using rich for the audio tones to see if that makes a difference in the sounds. It seems like when enhanced is used , I’m having a difficult time with hearing the in between depths. It’s either a hard hitting surface hit sound or deep weak sound.
@hiluxyota7200 I water detect on the beaches, settings I use are, beach surf and seawater, recovery 4, auto tracking, sensitivity 22-23, ferrous limits upper8, lower3, all metal mode, and tones I use prospecting only because it really hits good on those deeper targets. Prospecting theme isn't for everyone but I love it.
Awesome hunt guys! I love this channel. One of the best "no bs" metal detecting channels on RU-vid. I'm buying you all a full round of Bud Light!...hey the price was right. 😉
I’m still not impressed with it on land yet but hopefully I can get it dialed in without all the hi tone falsing. But it’s doing great in the water with minimal adjustments.
Wow! Congrats, looks like you are warming up to the Manticore. My Equinox 800 got drowned after 6.5 years, got the 900. Seems to be also better on small targets and separates extremely well. Got a 2 gold ring day yesterday with it. Good luck!
@hiluxyota7200 Thanks brother. I only hunted dry land for couple hours with my water headphones as my OEM have very buzzy rattly sound to them. I think they are lemons. Will send them back to Minelab for replacement. Will do more dirt hunting with 900 in the fall and will hit some pounded spots. Right now have to hit the beaches as the competition here is fierce for fresh drops at the busiest spots. All the best and HH, Sebastian
If I take a hammer to my 1916 -D Merc dime , will that make it a hammered coin? My coins are cleaning up real good with an ice pick. Still waiting on my UPS delivery on the NEW Garrett Platinum. Chicago gold. Looks like the water is the only safe place there. Go CUBS!
Awsome guys! I knew you would eventually hit the gold with the Manticore! It’s nice to see you having such good success with it now. If you don’t mind me asking, what settings are you running in the water on the Manticore bro?
I’m using beach low in the water. Seems like it hits harder on gold than beach general. I been using enhanced and been double checking with rich for the audio themes. And using the stock ferrus presets in 5 tone
I’m still pretty green with it. I noticed with air testing beach low seems to hit harder on gold. I been using that mode in enhanced running all metal in 5 tone recovery at 5 and sensitivities at 19 to 20 with stock upper and lower limits.
Never used either but hunt with people who do. I’m still learning the manticore and actually I hate the way the gold sounds on it compared to the ctx. It does hit harder on the lower tones then the ctx. But I would say in my opinion if you like either machine you have, I wouldn’t recommend the manticore.
The 900 is a great upgrade from the 800 I had one which I sold to a friend and got a manticore save the money buy a 900 check with Rich at backwoods great deal and no tax free ship
Not sure Dan. I’m still having issues with the falsing on dry land. I can’t seem to get it figured out. Even in a beach cut I have some issues where it’s iron infested. But for fresh dropping the manticore seems to hit a little harder on the gold than the ctx.
What; I heard you crying about that machine, now you like it in the water? I am still on the fence about that machine, now you're making the fence Wable. Which is it buy or don't buy?
I can attest to its land ability - dug over 300 silver coins this year alone with it in NY state. It is a beast. I had the Equinox 800 prior and did very well with it but this exceeds that machine.
@@sandman4224NOX that's what I got now and it's hard to give up on dirt, but I use my Excalibur for water. and take lot gold in and out of the water. Retired gold ring hunter. cherry picker
I’m still having issues with the falsing on land. I know a majority of it is myself but it for sure has a false issue way more than my ctx. I’m trying to give this thing a chance and take you guys with me to see all the struggles and learning curve along with the frustration unlike most of the biased ass suckers that are given the machine only to say how great it is. Fresh dropping takes no skill and is mostly luck. But I still change back to the ctx on land hunting. I can say is that this manticore does hit a bit harder on the gold than the ctx. I have around 50 hours on it so far and next video I will explain my thoughts on it in water and on land.
