Manticore is very impressive indeed Mike. Superb machine. A winner for sure...Worth every penny if one has the sites to really bring out it's obvious potential. In my dreams, I have multiple sole permissions on fields close to Iron Age tribal centres! In reality.......I guess the gold staters will not be mine!
Great video. Thanks. Can you show how Manticore responds to open gold earrings and small chains without the iron. That is where Equinox had issues with.
Looking to upgrade from an old White's Spectrum XLT. A lot has changed over the years. I finally narrowed it down to a Minelab, just not sure on the model yet. I'm leaning heavily towards the Manticore because I really like the 2D screen for helping me judge dig/no dig. Wish I knew what the optional coils were going to run for it, but I can't find them priced anywhere. Truthfully, I think the Manticore might be worth the stretch for me; as you can tell, I will run a machine forever!
Thanks for all the great tests. Wonder if pull tab in btwn the nails would read different than the gold at least to a good degree , and consistently.🤔 I know there are other factors but I am just being hopeful the Manticore could give us some edge when comes to those buggers .
That is beautiful the way Debbie explains in the video: MINELAB MANTICORE REVIEW - What does Advanced 2D Target Identification look like? The iron is simply displayed in 2D? The dimension of the targets collectively? I do not even believe it is 'responding' audibly to the iron? ? ? However, it is 'simply' displaying on the screen it is 'operating' in 2D as it is supposed to do?
@@IffySignals In that video I linked to it here all I hear is: No iron sound! Listening to that video and you with the Manticore you should be able to provide the final review. Please I do not believe any have attempted to say I want any glory; therefore, allow me to state unequivocally: I do not want any glory!
Hi Iffy, I really appreciate your videos's on the manticore. Thank you! Would you be able to do the same kind of test on a half Reales or half dime sized silver coin for us mate?
Thanks Silver Hunters. I don’t have any of those. I did a test on a silver dime. Im willing to bet you will get close to the same results depending on the size of the Reale.
Good video. The 2D screen helps to show multiple targets, which will help in trashy suburban areas and hint there might be good. The Deus II is not too shabby either. Gold between a crumpled aluminum can and an aluminum bottle cap would probably break the bank on all the detectors.
Hi,very interesting.do you have possibility to do test with small gold chain?air test like in this video. And on both machines to use beach modes, thank you👍
Great video. Question: Have you done the ground balance? Finding the best frequency on D2, or both metals detector for the moment I don’t know the Manticore. These are really important settings before using a metal detector. For the moment I definitely prefer the deus 2. It has the XY function, which you did not use. The Manticore graph is useless if you use the metal detector in water and at night, surely you won’t be able to see it. I prefer a net sound, like Excalibur2, that a sound like the Manticore ( tin tun tan tin tan) ... that you don’t understand anything. I speak for my kind of research. Greetings and thanks.
Hi, sure have. GB Will definitely impact. The new manticore screen provides allot of data even more than you can hear. I would definitely give it a try. Also there is allot of new tone options that offer allot of great feedback to your ears.
Really wanted to show wide open programs and focus on fast. Nothing i can do will help pull the targets through over a 7-9 vdi. I am open to recommendations and will give them a try. Thx
I’m just curious and doubt I’ll own one anytime soon, but would you say the Deus 2 or Manticore is easier to learn? I love being able to tinker with the machines & feel like I could learn any machine with time. I’m really curious about the new Nox 700 & 900. If there is going to much of a difference between the 2. I did notice the 900 has 8 levels of recovery speed compared to the 700 with only 3. Also the 900 has 3 more levels of sensitivity. I’m swinging the Legend and love it! But there is always bigger and better machines released every year…lol.
I would maybe get one if they came down on the price....... $1600 is just a lot of money for most people and yes I know they usually end up paying for them selves but it still seems like they are over priced in my opinion. Looks cool though and look forward to seeing some real world hunting with the manticore.
I know allot of people do but at old homesites if you do that you can miss targets because allot of them are buried in nail beds and when you turn on them they turn to an iron tone. A good one way is enough for me to investigate 👍
Not sure I’ve only found a few rings at the beach in all my years. I dont hunt the beach often but its a good identifier of how each machine will act near iron in any situation. This is best case being above ground
In my opinion the Minelab Manticore done far better than the XP Deus II in separation. The fact the V3i shows 'simultaneous' scan in freq./kHz has much to desire together with the fact the VDI is normalized. I wonder what the Legend and the Equinox 800 would reveal in the ability to separate? I own the V3i and the 800. With all that I have seen in numerous videos I will never sell my V3i. That was a good video! Thanks!
@@SandBoy408 Thanks! Iffy signals has a good list on his channel. I am watching a video he done on Nokta Makro Legend & Minelab Equinox Deep Iron and Separation Demo.
I´ve recently purchased a Manticore for this reason too, among others. I´m basically a beach hunter and i´ve found tons of gold with my equinox...but i know that in some situations i´ve missed a lot. Hope for the game changing :)
Wow You are so close on letting me know at least that this detector is going to be a break me all Detector. Very Interested in wanting one. I will still be keeping my ears and eyes open. But so far What I am seeing I like. Thanks Buddy You are doing an amazing job.
These tests on the manticore were performed in all metal (horseshoe) mode…..in all metal, iron will produce a VDI number with a horizontal red line under it, and will have an audible volume/pitch based on the ferrous tones settings……If you disable all metal mode, iron signals (based on your Ferrous limits setting) will produce no VDI and be silent audibly.
@@captnse i honestly did not understand anything .... does the manticore have the classic mode where the iron is audible with a ferrous tone and is displayed with low vdi? like 0 to 10?
@@brillero2356 To answer your question in one word: No. You cannot limit all ferrous targets to a predefined set of VDI numbers….you have no control of what vdi # the Manticore will assign a ferrous object. The Manticore will automatically assign a conductive ID on ferrous targets based on the ferrous properties of the target (size, shape, orientation, metal content, etc). Collocated targets next to iron can affect the VDI of both the iron and non-ferrous targets too. You can have the ferrous targets be audible (in all metal mode) or silent with no VDI. To mask out iron (silent audio), you can go into a hunting mode (with multi-IQ+ frequency enabled) and create a user defined or predefined Ferrous Limits setting.
I liked the way you ran thru all the Manticore programs including all the beach programs but only a half dozen deus ll programs and no beach programs. A little biased towards the Manticore I think. Thanks for the video.
Definitely not. I did not even realize it. You will get the same low vdi. I am also pulling for the Deus, i really like it and hoping for a great update. If you see different results please let me know.
Until the new update arrives from XP, drop the disc to 6 or 7. The VDI will still show low number but you will get a non ferrous tone. Dont notch. Obviously not ideal but hopefully the new firmware will be out soon.
I think it’s quite obvious that someone running either of these machines will have the chance to do really well compared to machines of the past. Faster hardware and more intricate programming makes our overall experience more productive in terrible places.
So most detectors will find what I pull up. Maybe 4% of my finds are because the machine is just that much better. What really interest me, is a water test. How deep can these machines go before failing?
Looks good mate just wish xp would get there new update out and then you will have to do all these tests again lol still thinking it will be in January before wee see it
Glad to see the Deus holding its own, yes the VDI suffers but it’s all about the tones ( quote from other utuber if you know you know 😎) the Maticore is looking like it will work well in trashy environments using the new target screen, be interesting to see if it can handle large iron targets with a good target next to it like a coin, ohhh dam it, looks like this is going to be the next bucket list must have to buy item in the future😬😬😬 I’ll never be rich 🤣🤣 Ps. Dear Santa Claus ( or minelab ) be happy to test this out for free of charge And report on findings in UK soils 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
I think this is a problem but for me and i never use this mashine i just watch your video.Ferrocheck for nokta work well on surfice test but in ground is useless.I think minelab must fix this with nimbers on iron becouse in ancient sites with more iron this is problem.Deus numbers is issues but i work more on tones and i know this problem with numbers.Sorry for my not good english.I watch every of yours video, good channel, buddy!I wish you luck 🍀
@@jarkov4914 if you say you detect more on the tones, then no problem….you can set the ferrous tone/pitch to a very low audio….ferrous signals will be very obvious from non ferrous signals….all these tests in this video for the manticore were done in all metal mode (horseshoe mode). If you disabled all metal mode, the iron would be silent audibly and produce no VDI number.
@@captnse hello my friend.I dont know how this be in other mode…i write,i dont have this detectors but i interest of it!This resul is in this mode i dont know in other if this result is the same…This detector is 1850e deus 2 is 1500e and deus is no cable, and more compact…I just watch and coment here because im interest to buy this manticore if he is more good in separation and deep
The only detector in the world who can beat those two hands down, is the Gladiator Black Dog. It does things that no other detector can do. It's a spanish beast. It can detect a gold coin with its surface totally covered by iron nails. Never seen this in any detector. Much better machine, much lower price. 40% of the price on the Deus or the Manticore is due to brand value.
Maintain the concept that the Manticore is to not be compared to any other. No other metal detector is 2D! You have now entered into the twilight zone! lol The Manticore is 2D Dimensional. Debbie does a good job explaining this in the video I will link to here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lI3yJapSzfw.html Once you fully grasp the concept this metal detector is in a world of its' own. Technology is beautiful! Grasp the concept and . . . then . move forward from there.
@@IffySignals Often we meet a challenge head on and overlook the obvious. It often (as with me, and I am sure many others do the same) becomes an obsession to overcome the challenge and until you take a break from it and allow the totality to be absorbed it can really be a challenge. Hopefully this will help.
@@IffySignals humm 🤔? How about combined ferrous and non ferrous objects? So not two separate items? In Europe we find metal combined with copper or metal combined with silver.
I didn't see how the Minelab sounded with just the nails, only the XP. It would have been interesting for people who like to use aural signals rather than screen watching
Both will hit the target, they just act differently. Targets near iron will really drop the ID to 7,8,9 on the D2 and moves them closer to the top ferrous limits on the manticore.
The legend is very comp to the deus 2.... Will you please no matter the result.... Put the legend up against the manticore in the same gold test PLEASE.... I bet it'll shock everyone.... When a $400 detector runs close to all the high dollar detectors...I could be wrong but would love to see PLEASE!!!
Hey UFO, my Legend is setup for diving now, I chopped the shaft because i wasn’t going to use it for land anymore. The Legend does a good job but still calls iron a good target which these machines have the ability to discriminate. I have let friends use it in the past and it is a very frustrating machine to use even for a beginner when a site is loaded with large iron. I still like it for diving but will not be relic hunting with it. If they come out with an update that helps this i will definitely show it.
@Tyler Cohen hey Tyler, yea i agree. I have dug many large pieces of iron that show minimal iron on the FerroCheck. I relic hunt mostly and try to avoid large iron. I got spoiled having a machine that identifies those targets as non ferrous so I probably wont be using it much for relic homesites. Still a great machine and well worth the money. My is setup for diving now and works great. Pretty sure with the build quality of the Legend it will never leak on me 👍
In the real World when on a beach or in land and in the soil. Neither machine would get either target. You were struggling with both in my opinion in most programs to get a clear target and numbers and they were on the surface. On beaches i do there are nails all over the place and although the target trace of the Manticore looks good i doubt it would find the ring. And most of the time the ring would be deep and nails and other trash at different depths all all around. Which ever machine you have you need to have an element of luck. I think Detectors are getting close to the point that they cannot be made any better. But just do it differently. I might well buy the Manticore late next year when i can get a discount or an add on that i can chuck out. I wont be selling my Deus 11 , E.Trac nor my new Nox 900 to change to the Manticore. Even my Legend and Nox 800 will be kept. Its up to the Manticore to prove itself to me that it has a place in my Detecting armoury. Right now its the poor battery life and long charge time and lack of the Deus 11 5 year warranty that worries me. After 3 years its still another Minelab throwaway machine that cannot be fixed. If i get it. It has to last for a fairly long time.
@@IffySignals I saw TnSharpShooter's video last week of a bottle cap next to gold ring- manticore vs deus 2 and manticore blasted the gold ring where the deus struggled. I wanted to see how high in elevation the bottle cap could be and either machine still hit the gold ring? Deus could be in trouble apples to apples performance and the higher price tag?
la casa costruttrice del deus 2 sconsiglia di fare test in aria il deus 2 ha ottime prestazioni con targhet sotterrati, ho trovato due medagliette d'oro tra il metallo ad una profondita' di 40 centimetri
Was not intentional. Really wanted to open the machine up to see how it would hit the gold. If you have any recommendations please let me know and i will try them.
