We did cool shit in the '80s, like park our cars on piers so we could call our friends and shout at them over the pounding surf. I guess you had to be there.
You just summed up being cool in a nutshell. Doing something horribly inconvenient and taxing just to get one nice snap shot or have 20 mins of feeling like you're on top of the world. The best feeling ever.
@@Malmoriousnot in the objective or pejorative sense no, but in the subjective and colloquial sense doing cool shit is perfectly fine; it's like how a neat skateboard trick doesn't invoke the glory of the Christian God, but it's still awesome.
The album is an almost perfect pomodoro timer. Set it to play, start your work, once the album is done, you know youve done 25 mins. Take a 5 mins break, and then restart the album. Win.
i’m a minute into listening to this, and right off the rip i can tell you the first song is an edit of the dub version of cybernetic love by casco - an italo classic. not that there’s anything wrong with that, a lot of vaporwave are basically chopped and screwed edits of italo or city pop, etc. but credit is due the artists that made the og music 30-40 years ago.
Mom said she feels weird that I love to listen to 80s tune like this. She never thought that an algorithm can make her son love 80s music and make her feels nostalgia. She even tell me stories about her daily life when she was 20 years old in 1984. I feel jealous, I wanna be there, I don't like these social media and internet era. Thank God I found this channel
I was born in 1985 and I clearly remember being a kid in the late 80s and early 90s, and YES, the Western world looked and felt differently, exactly how you imagine it felt. I grew up near San Francisco (I even made a video about it on my channel) and back then everything was neon, every girl smelled like Aqua Net hairspray, clothes were fun and colored, and restaurants still had smoking and non-smoking areas. My mom wore blouses with shoulder pads and my dad wore basketball socks up to his knees. Paula Abdul, New Kids On The Block, and Madonna ruled the world back then. I remember when my dad got a cell phone that looked and felt like a brick. You'd have to pull the antenna out before dialing. My friends and I used to dance and battle like MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. Ninja Turtles and Super Soaker squirt guns were the greatest toys on the planet. I remember vividly around 1995 when our local library got the internet on a computer for the public to try. People were allowed 10 minutes and you'd have to wait in a long line, and this was only when Geocities and Internet Explorer was available and each web page took a minute to slowly appear on screen. I can go on and on. The nostalgia is real.
I was born in ‘90 and the main things I remember were the cafe in k-mart, ninja turtles, karate kid, BIG and a slew of Full House. With love from Louisiana
Track #4 - ELENA is virtually authentic ITALO DISCO music of the early 80's like SAVAGE from Italy! It's amazing how they captured the feel and beats and made new music!
Yep, so amazing how they took music from the 80's and made it feel like it's from... The 80's. Lmao the airheads in the comments of vaporwave never cease to amaze me
Genuinely thought at first this was an archivist upload of some obscure 80s album until I realized this was created just recently! I love the album cover for helping make it seem like a genuine 80s album. The camera quality and the late 80s/early 90s sport sedan is a great effect :) it sounds like it is a bit difficult to have sourced that automobile and park it for the picture
Here I am, an 80s baby who just clicked the link because my daughter's name is Elena. And I look up the band and they are from my home town. This is beautifully well crafted x
Cool, small world, I'm here because this is a take on my middle name, but your twist of connections is beyond a chance coincidence, hahaha, like it was made for you. I got it on repeat, play on.
@@allenwilliams7210 the internet says leeds uk, Europe is about 10 yrs ahead of the us in cultural development and ai music comes from many places, but should be about right its formed in 2016 and is ai. I would say the Uk, but ai is public owned intelectual property, this is my opinion and is not legally binding.
@@bsherman8236that's the base of the cell phone. The really old school corded ones like that had that satchel sized base with the battery and antenna. Back then that Michael Douglas from Wall Street brick cell phone was considered ultra sleek
As someone born in 1978: The album cover and music are absolutely something I'd expect to find in the late 80s or 1990/91... there was a certain corporate/ mall culture/ everything coated in brass/"high tech"/yuppy aesthetic you've captured perfectly.
Mergers and Acquisitions, what a fantastic track. I love it. I’m buying a Mazda MX-5 RF soon and I will definitely play this album with the targa roof open at sunset
"The thing about reaching the top is its a long way down" (Wide shot of protagonist standing in front on his penthouse floor to celing windows early in the monrning cloudy day overlooking Kowloon bay)
Petition to reset human population back to 80's number. Bet we can still have all the good stuff without compromising on global warming or sea level or some apocalyptic bs
As a Metalhead, i think this is one of the best album covers I've ever seen Yeah, yeah, cool Cthulu-esque Cosmic horrors, who cares? BROS GOT A TOYOTA ON A PIER, WHILE THE OCEAN STRIKES CREATING A DOPE ASS IMAGE
I loved this album! Even though I'm partially deaf it still spoke to me what I could hear! Thank you for uploading greatness! Perfect music to play games to or job search!
*On the phone* : The 80's were rad. You had to be there 😎 *Other line* : Meta prophecy, my dude. Some day we'll both understand what you mean. *On the phone* : See you then, bro. --click--
Bro caught the insider alpha and moved first... Brilliantly executed. Bro went and copped a fresh Toyota Soarer and brick celly to congratulate himself to the next level. Power moves my nigga.
Takes me back to the 80s. Kids these days will never understand the stakes of a ski off against the main jock that stole your girlfriend. Do kids even do karate tournaments to avenge their sensai's bonsai shop anymore?
"Hey it's me. I SAID IT'S ME. No, I'm on the pier, so the waves are kinda loud. Yeah, with the car phone, I got it right here on the hood of my 1987 Toyota Soarer. Yes, my pants are still too big."
