I think keeping the Fullcure is better - since it's the only one you get in the game, and in Minerva's fight, it only heals a max of 50k HP for some reason, so using it with Dualcast is guaranteed to fully recover your HP. I used the same armor as you, so since I didn't have the Genji shield equipped, I had Wall equipped (with +100 Vit). I also maxed out my Mug materia to +100 Spr. My Costly Punch had the HP bonus, and that along with Fullcure plus an extra HP Plus materia got me to 99999 HP. This way, with the Genji Helm, I don't have to worry about MP or AP usage, especially after a Judgment Bolt, and Fullcure+Dualcast is much quicker and guaranteed full recovery (vs Curaga which only heals about 40k HP with Dualcast so has to be used multiple times). At the start of the fight, I just cast Wall and remember to recast it every so often before it runs out, and then use Fullcure to heal every couple of hits. So my loadout was Fullcure, Costly Punch, Mug, Wall, Dualcast, HP Plus, with Genji Armor/Helm/Glove and Ziedrich.
Relying on costly punch had me fail too many attempts. Tanking a hit in Battle Stance guard and using Aerial Drain kept me healthy without sacrificing damage.
Thank you for this. I was very closely prepped aside from the mug materia and costly punch to get the VIT and SPR all the way up. Took Minerva down first try using this guide
Hard Mode of this fight is ridiculous. I cleared everything on Hard up until this but she is a monster with 77777777 HP and can instantly kill you and remove Phoenix Down with Flash Slash even with 99k health. Even with cheese strats she can take up to 45 minutes.
I started the game in hardmode didn't expect to fight a monster like that, does the New game + carry over the missions progress? I kinda don't wanna start another playthrough to get my 100%..
Here a better one power stance + aerial drains = 50000 damage + 50000 life between them costly punch and when she dose her limit go far a way and take elixer before and after the limit as soon as possible. And for the stuts 255 vit 255 spi 255 attack 200 luck and 75001 and above life. Bc of the limit. Use pd for back up life the same as the video. And make sure that you have proficnce 40 and above. And btw you don't need genji armor that way you can use the chip options.
i like where you said about materia fusion that you hav'nt touched since like 35 hours ago lol that's me, i'm on 1st playthrough and seeing many of your videos i've missed so much stuff and side quests. i always prefer where you can have a party of 3 or 4 characters like in other ff games, it just seems like it's 1 character all the way through on this game. i got so many items and like 2 or 3 of most equipment and materia and i was hoping more characters would join so i could equip them up but it looks like i might just sell off everything now that i'm not using.
She kept killing me with freaking Flash Slash. At around 1/4 health she starts spamming attacks back-to-back. The warm up on the spells gives you enough time to block/dodge, but when she throws out Flash Slash after a revive, you don’t have enough time to use another Phoenix Down. Eventually I just said fuck it and grinded proficiency to 100%. You completely guard all damage when you switch stances. And I also threw on a few Rebirth Flames, since it’s quicker to activate the summon for Phoenix- than it is to use a Phoenix Down. Doing that and just spamming High Jump, made the fight almost too easy. I ended up using only about 5 Phoenix Downs.
Can you please tell me your gill toss setup? I spend half of last night with this stupit fight. One time i legit died one attack before i killed her because i pressed the wrong button
Gil Toss is NOT better. It deals more damage IN THE END but you need to actively get the Gil. And before anybody says "you just need to do this ...", that is not the point. The point is what is more efficient. Costly Punch is more efficient. You can always use it. You can beat Minerva with Costly Punch as often as you want. With Gil Toss once your broke you need to get the Gil again. And healing HP is done in a second. And Assault Twister and those others are also not better for one reason apart of Costly Punch's base power: Costly Punch breaks through both immunities. Assault Twister, etc. are physical.
I do the Gil throw it's not super effective like costly punch but at least I don't have to get too close to her ... I got her down to 25 mil but ran out of money so I died lol
You can see emerald weapon in the cave that you fight her in. Easier to get a look when you're here normally. Look at the cave wall in the distance and you can see emerald.
I have mug at master but it still won't let me steal Phoenix downs. Plus I may need another goblin punch or so to get the spirit ability since I don't have it on my main one. How do I do it and why is my mug ability not stealing Phoenix downs?
I feel like im looking at my old psp save data, this is exactly the same thing i did back then except i have 99999 hp 999mp and a, and i think i have a life steal mechanic on my punch, cant remember if its costly punch or magical punch and i pretty much dont have to heal lol
The downside to the full cure materia is that you cant seem to merge it with any other materia to increase its stat bonus. Itll just turn into a different materia Whereas curaga can be merged with many other materia, and still remain a curaga So my curaga has a +999% hp for its stat buff And I believe full cure is stuck at +200% hp
@@koheikyouji This is correct. @Elwin royale the Full Cure materia is great, but it's better off being downgraded to Curaga with a massive HP boost, as it's mostly useless when using Dualcast. The HP bonus is too good to pass up. But you can always use another combination if you'd rather. Up to you!
I went with a much more passive strategy (it was too scary to get close lol). Instead of costly punch and Full Cure, I used battle stance paired with Darkness to get that 99,999 damage without getting too close and used Ariel Drain when my health was getting low. Also used battle stance for blocking as well. At this point in the game, I had a boat load of gil for elixirs so AP was no issue. I found that using healing magic was too slow.
@@SweetJohnnyCage Arial drain + power stance = 50000 damage +health and just use elixir before and after her limit to make sure you have above 75000 health and once in a while use the costly punch. stuts the same as yours. but you don't need magick at all just luck hp (above 75k) attack vit sip all 255. you don't need mp at all and for the ap soma will do the job just fine once in a while. it can also work on hard btw but you need to be very careful with the male attack that will cancel your PD.
@@SweetJohnnyCage Forget about those people. Costly Punch has always been the best one. It does not matter what is faster. It matters what is more efficient.
I gotta make notes for myself when uploading videos at 5am. That's my bad! Here's the guide - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MevXvIPNHBI.html
The full cure from Goliath drops with +1 spr I'm disappointed to hear you say you want the platinum and "want to get this over with" We play a lot of the same games I noticed overtime and I play for the love of the game I just got this mission today and had this video on my watch list for 2 weeks as I got closer, this can take me another week for all I care, same with River City Girls 2 no rush, enjoy. this does not seem as hard as the 5 boss battle before the pride & joy proto so I'm not too worried Thanks a million for the tip I was wondering how to damage him.
Totally understand the disappointment. I do my best to reserve opinions for longer walkthrough videos, and just keep the small guides as fact-based as possible. That said, I was very ready to be done with Crisis Core. The gameplay is WAY better than the PSP version, but to see the remaster still have all 300 missions was disappointing to me. You could easily trim half of them, or more, and nothing of value would be lost. I was so tired of doing them that I would avoid combat encounters by hugging the walls, find the chests, then kill the boss of each mission. They stop being fun after a while, to me. That said, I'm extremely glad Crisis Core is finally out of the PSP prison it's been in for almost 15 years. More people should play this game, and having it on all consoles and PC makes that possible now. Just wish the quality of life changes that the gameplay and graphics received also trickled into the mission system haha.
