Mingo Falls located on the Cherokee Reservation just out side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is close to the town of Cherokee, NC. This 120 foot waterfall, is one of the most majestic in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Comparing this to other Smoky Mountain waterfalls, this beautiful waterfall ranks right at the top with Rainbow Falls, Ramsey Cascades, Laurel Falls, and Spruce Flats Falls, just to name a few. One of the most beautiful waterfalls in North Carolina this is a must see waterfall, even a bucket list waterfall. This short hike is not easy, 160 steps greet you to begin your journey. Then roughly 0.2 of a mile of some rocky terrain and you will arrive at the falls.

Thanks it is a great waterfall, especially after a rain. A lot of steps, but not as many as we did at Amicalola Falls in GA. This waterfall sort of reminded me of Amicalola in a smaller scale.
