Ian has always wanted to build a Ed "Big Daddy" Roth inspired mini bike trike. He pays homage to "The Mailbox" build done by Big Daddy Roth built in 1965.

Ian worked and studied at a bronze casting foundry as a young man, where he learned to create models, armatures, molds and finished sculptural artwork in all mediums and finishes. Ian is fascinated by the artistic process of sculpture. He brings this knowledge to his car customizations, to his Full Custom Garage TV show audience, and now he brings it to you, his growing RU-vid audience.

Ian, the style of the front rim is perfect. But the size of the spokes of the rim doesn't fit the style of the rest of the bike. Need thicker spokes.

@@fullcustomIan my father was a surgeon and family doctor in Bellflower Ca. So I grew up around a lot of RN’s that I found to be some of the greatest people I ever knew. Hard working with the greatest care for people and really big hearts. Had lots of fun with them when I’d go to the hospital with dad when he made rounds.

Folks who have complained about the number of episodes, or “lack of videos” forget the days of Full Custom Garage where a “season” would end, and we had to wait MONTHS for a new “season”! Ian, I build retro motorcycles . Even have one in a museum. I just want you to know is the biggest thing you have taught me is to fabricate my ideals and not to worry about others comments. When I was kid 50 years ago me and my buddy had mini bikes I had a 5 horse buddy had 3 and a half got this brite ideal took carb off mine put on his it would over ride governor ran like hell till it blew up...good ole days

This thing should be a blast when finished! Looking great! As far as the 100 degree temps I feel ya, I'm up in WA State and most only think of Seattle and rain but in Eastern WA where I live (Not to far from Yakima WA) It's been between 100 and 110 for most of July and into Aug It's so hard to stay working in the shop at those temps without A/C. Keep up the great work you two!

Love that you're on RU-vid these days, didn't get many episodes of Full Custom Garage in Australia. Jamie is doing a great job on the camera! Loving the way the forks are coming along and that was great that you mentioned Sugar Bear, made for some interesting reading on their history. Love the headlight choice! Wanted to support the channel more by buying a tshirt but you are not shipping internationally so I hope that will change soon... fingers crossed.

Ian too many people don't seem to realise that weight distribution front to rear is as important on a motorcycle and bicycle as it is in a 4 or more wheeled vehicle. I build most of my bicycles with more weight on the rear wheel/wheels. I have one bike that has 4ft long front forks at about a 45 degree angle and they don't bend because 90% of the weight is on the rear wheel and I don't have a problem turning on it. Other forks I build range from 20 inches long to 40 inches long and at various angles.
