@ niall Don't think I've ever commented on your channel before. Just wanted to say how much this video series is appreciated. When I get around to building something I'll definitely be watching this series again. Thanks for the content mang.
I don't see if your walls lean back as it's usual in other earthships. They say that each row of tires has to be 1 inch to the back. If so it gives to the walls a stability to hold that soil which is behind of the walls. Or do you use something else for stability of the walls?
Thanks, I got it from a local supplier in bozeman. They had a couple of options on size. The 1700 gallon tank was the best bang for buck. I think I paid $2400.
383 tires total. That's counting the half tires. Just curious, how many tires did you guys end up with? Also, I checked out crestone last week. Seems like a cool place. Wasn't expecting the epic views from town as I was driving in. I was driving up from Texas and stopped by on my way.
@@nialldivers Nice! I(Pete) probably had about that... maybe 350ish... then I think Matt and Goldie had about 600. And very cool! You should have hit us up! lol Next time! Glad you liked Crestone.
@@nialldivers I ended up using 345 tires in 9 courses for the garage, I haven't started the actual Earthship home yet. going to get the garage dried in before I start the Earthship home... I'll be pouring buttresses this week, after that I need to pour the ceiling / roof of the storm shelter, then the bond beam. I still have a lot to do, but I'm hoping to have the garage dried in by the end of next month.
