Can someone help me I’m looking at a 2018 cooper s uk jcw pack though it has akropovic exhaust tips but ones fell off so I don’t know if it’s the tips or it’s a actual akropovic system is akropovic factory that comes with the jcw pack thanks
Have this on my F55… bluetooth… open the switch, and unplug it to keep is ‘open’ all the time. I have the JCW tune, and added the big brakes too… worth it!
Hey really nice video. I am thinking of getting this exhaust for my 2016 mini cooper s. Does it need any coding? Bc the guys at the local bmw store claimed so. Also, which exact exhaust set did you buy? I see a couple ones on the market at different prices!:) thanks in advance!
Thanks so much for watching and sorry for the late response. You don’t have to code the car for the exhaust to work… however if you have a cooper s and want the pro tune that comes with the system, you will need to get the car coded. I got the system under the f55 link in the description
Hi! I have a JCW F56 LCI2 from 2022 with OPF (particule filter) from Europe, where I do live. At BMW dealerships they say I cannot use this exhaust on the latest JCW as the VIN number of my car doesn't show this item as an accessory. Are you sure that it could be fitted? Thanks
Hello, I live in North America so unfortunately can’t really speak for the laws there. In the links I have there is an exhaust for 2020+ years but that may be for North America only. I know some people have found ways of getting rid of and coding out the gpf but I don’t know much about it. May be good looking into that and then getting the exhaust after.
Im from Portugal, and I have too a JCW from 2022, I asked at a Mini dealership about this topic, and they said its not legal to put this exhaust on our cars because of the rules related to the OPF emissions. This exhaust can fit on our cars (our cars are the same as the pre-facelift ones structurally) but I think is not possible to legalize it. They said to me that I can buy it though
From your sales link: "Activation code in envelope will need to be flashed at MINI dealership for flap system to work and engine remap." Your flaps work without flashing at the dealer, so does the flashing actually only refer to the tune (which I know you said you didnt install)? Concisely put: is any coding or flashing required for only the exhaust flaps to work? (Without the tune)?
Hello! Thanks for watching! I am unsure if you live in Europe, but if you live in North America, there is a 2020+ specific exhaust! I have a link to the system in the video description
I live in Europe, but the systems should be the same. I have tried pressing all the links and typing in my cars information, but it says “do NOT fit” can you please send the link? 🙏🏼
@@mikkellauesen3125 Oh ok, so in europe you would have a gpf on your car... That's why they say it does not fit. You can still install the exhaust, but its not 'supported' and you have to only install half the exhaust portion (after the gpf) or get the gpf error coded away.
I had the Pro exhaust on my last Cooper S. It sounded fantastic but I found myself getting tired of the pops after a while. Would have been nice if you could turn that off through settings without having to get out of sport mode completely. My current car (21 mcs) doesn't seem to pop much at all which I'm glad about so I may put a pro exhaust on this one at some point. Love the sound of the pro exhaust. Love the "fart" on upshifts, but the popping got really old after a while to me.
Yeah I can totally see that perspective. I always quickly turn it off when I’m in my neighborhood. I also don’t always drive with it on because it’s a bit much. However I do still appreciate the pops.
When you grounded it where exactly did you put it? Following the instructions it says to back it to the bracket but that’s not such a good ground. Actually it doesn’t ground at all.
@@carcreationsyt I admit to liking the deeper exhaust note but not the pops n bangs. I asked one of our members at South Lincolnshire Mini Owners what the 'big thing' is with pops n bangs (as his R52 Cooper S does) and his reply was "they put a big smile on my face. It costs me enough to run the car so anything extra I get from it is a good thing" He's only 22 so I can imagine running a supercharged Mini is expensive. I don't know whether I'd have liked pops n bangs when I was his age though.
Great video. I bought a 2017 Cooper S Works second hand recently in UK with this JCW Exhaust installed already and get no pops or bangs in Sports Mode at all. When I open the valve with the remote I get maybe one muffled pop here and there but its' very limited. I'm convinced previous owner has turned something off on the car via ECU or exhaust but I don't know how or how to fix. Car performs great otherwise and low mileage. I asked local Mini dealership but don't seem to want to know when it comes to exhausts and look at you funny when you ask where have the pops and bangs gone lol. Like you I bought the car totally for the pops and bangs where it should be sounding exactly like yours. The 2017 models were the last in the UK to make great noise and then 2018 laws started to change to tone it down. Not sure if you identified anything when fitting system where you could turn off/adjust such noises. Appreciate any help or advice to check
Thanks for watching! When you open it, did you turn it to race mode with two clicks of the exhaust remote? That’s frustrating that it doesn’t work. Also sometimes the remote disconnects so it doesn’t actually turn on the exhaust, you hold down the button for 10 seconds, then try the two clicks again to see if it opens. You also said you do it in sports mode so that can’t be the issue. Some people try it in mid, and that doesn’t work lol.
Hi, your videos are great for Mini enthusiasts. I own a 2022 Mini JCW F56 LCI 2, I want to install a JCW pro system. But I can't find the compatible model. Can you help me ?
I ended up working on an aftermarket tune, not done yet, but I did not do the jcw tune as it would have messed with the aftermarket one. They dont charge that much apparently though
Hi mate, lovely video. Im kinda new with the mini mods Does your jcw pro exhaust comes with the downpipes? Or yours is just the catback only? Although it sounds amazing already just wondering can i change to a different downpipes with this jcw pro exhaust?
Very specific question that i can’t seem to find an answer to… I bought this system used for my wife’s mini and it does not have the connectors for the positive and negative wire that go into the fuse box (previous owner cut them off thinking they couldn’t be removed) Would it be possible to do a simple add a fuse and connect the wires to the fuse rather than plug into the back?
Good question! I would say to maybe try to do it properly. I think they do sell just the harness. However if you don’t mind, you could test it and see if it works.
@@carcreationsyt yeah for anyone else that has the same issue as me simply use an Add-a-fuse adaptor into the same exact fuse slots and it works exactly the same. I was able to get it to function that way.
Hello, from my experience it does not. However you may find you use much more fuel with the valves open as you want to hear the pops and that is literally throwing money in the fire.
Hey mate quick and kind of boring question. How loud is it when the valves are closed? I was thinking of getting it for my cooper s 24’ but I have a pretty long and early commute and I can see myself getting sick of it after a while.
So is this what it sounds like on the JCW or just the s? I have an F56 and am wanting to know if the tune and exhaust kit will make it sound like this or if it will be different before I spend all the money.
This car is a Cooper S so the sound you hear in this video will be true for the cooper s with the exhaust. From experience, the sound is very similar to the jcw with the exhaust
@@MohammedAlKaabi-p9i I would suggest reaching out to the company to ask, but I believe this one will work, just dont install the tuning portion of it. 2020+: bit.ly/3oxuyhq However make sure you dont have a gpf on your car.
Question - the ECS site says the 2020+ JCW Exhaust is only compatible up to 2021 model year cars. Do you think it would still be able to work on a 2022+ model? Thank you!
Hi! Do you code the car to do the engine remap? or it's necesary take the car to the dealership? I want to buy this system on your link But I'm in Mexico.
Thanks for watching! They may ship to Mexico, not sure. You can code it yourself with ista+ I believe but don’t know what’s involved. I would just take it to the dealer
Hi, I have a 3 dr JCW 2023 and live in Canada. I went to the dealer and they told me that it is not fit with my car. They search with the Vin and told me that not fit. Is it any chance for me purchase the 2020+ and it fit my car?
I had a Canadian dealer tell me that too, however it does fit. They simply stopped selling the exhaust for those years so the vin wont match in their system. The 2020+ link I have in the description will work perfectly for you.
I have a 2015 JCW, I have the sports factory exhaust, but it doesn't have a remote or the valve flap. Can I just buy the remote, flap, wires, or components, or do I have to purchase the whole exhaust kit? Also, what is the difference between JCW and JCW Pro? As in, is it performance or just looks. My guess is I got the JCW and not the JCW Pro, but im unsure
Unfortunately it’s just the jcw exhaust, not the pro jcw exhaust. The pro one when compared to the jcw one you have is slightly more quite when flap is closed, but louder with snappier pops when the flap is open. If you wanted to upgrade you would need a full upgrade
9:10 I don't quite understand that you meant with this oral instructions. What corner the wire goes around? I tried to focus on it afterwards throughout the video and I don't see how you benifitted from removing that heat shield. Am I wrong or am I missing something?
Hello, thanks for watching! We had to remove it as where the wire exits through the floor is directly under the heat shield. We then routed the wire around the heat shield
Actually thank you for responding and making this very helpful video. So, at 8:26 you said after removing the heat shield that the the "hole" 🕳 is actually directly under that plastic piece. I'm confused... Also, for the wiring diagram in the video. I understand where the 2 fuses plug into. But what about the cables themselves where do they connect to? And are they also "plug and play" or do I need to modify them of some sort? And what about the ground wire. Where does that attach to? I know my questions might sound ridiculous, but please bear with me. I'm a rockies and I don't want to mess this up
It's also visible at 10:04 that the cable just hangs down right from the base of that plastic top meets the chassis (not from between the heat shield and the chassis). Correct if I'm wrong
Hmm that shouldn’t happen. I wonder if the valve is loosing power somehow. Maybe check connections? Worst case, open the valve, then disconnect the wire to it and it will stay open 😆
@@carcreationsyt dealer say was the battery, so, changed the battery and stay open a bit longer... but still sometimes it shut by itself... its happening to several people with the JCW Tuning Kit, what I did, is i unplugged...
It absolutely an be done however you will need to swap out your diffuser for one with a center exhaust. Depending on your year, it could be super cheap to do.
Was the ecu tuned and is this an lci2 jcw? I’m looking to get an idea of sound for a resonator delete and sport muffler but every video I see for the lci2 is a UK car that was tuned due to the opf delete. I can’t for the life of me find a sport exhaust on a US car that is not tuned due to the bench unlock requirement for the ECUs
My car is pre lci, and I just face lifted it however if you want to hear sound, the miniac put it in his lci2 jcw so you could hear the sound there. If you’re looking to purchase the exhaust, make sure you use the newer car exhaust link in the description as I believe they changed it slightly for the lci2 models.
@@8uMayed On the cooper s it brings your hp levels up to 205 hp and you get a certification from MINI for you car that classifies it as a MINI Cooper S - JCW lol
@@claudetheruler its not in stock however it costs the same price with or without the tune addon. It’s fine to get the tuning kit and just not install the tune. You could ask their support if you are worried.
@@carcreationsyt oh okay, in belgium it apperently isnt possible to tune it the normal way yet, they have to send the ECU to somewhere to open it and you wont have your car for a week and its 2k just to open the ecu
Could be a battery issue but sometimes you just have to repair it. Hold down the button for 10 seconds then try again, if that doesn’t work, hold down the button till it stops flashing and AS SOON as it stops flashing let go. Then try again. Both methods have worked for me in the past as I have had to do it a number of times due to disconnecting the car battery for retrofits.
😭😭😭😭😭its fixed man, I just removed that fuse you put in F74 and put it back. I have my pops and bangs back, after a whole fucken year😭😭😭 thank god i bumped into this video today, would never have had the courage to fiddle around and press shit
Can someone help me I’m looking at a 2018 cooper s uk jcw pack though it has akropovic exhaust tips but ones fell off so I don’t know if it’s the tips or it’s a actual akropovic system is akropovic factory that comes with the jcw pack thanks
If you are in North America, make sure you get the latest system that I have linked in the description. If you are in Europe, you will need to get the gpf filter coded out unfortunately
Hey dear, maybe someone could help me here. I have a 2017 Cooper S F54 and just want to swap the S Exhaust with a Jcw Exhaust , but the JCW Exhaust have a Valve but idk how to wire it so that i can open that valve on my Cooper S
This car is actually older than the opf days, I just face lifted it in some of the other videos to look like a brand new mini. I wanted to do this exhaust upgrade and some tuning without opf issues sometimes a nice compromise
Hello, yes if you are from North America! The cooper s 2020+ tuning kit I linked in the description will work. You just don’t install the tuning portion of it. If you are in Europe, sadly you are out of luck
