@@GuyTownsend-gy1ip If you can fly an Aeronca Champ you can fly the miniMAX. I fell it is easy to fly but I strongly suggest some dual instruction in a Champ or similar tail dragger before hand.
@@cupidcupps21 I'm curious where you got the engine and the specs I made a foot pedal gear ratio that might be able to match the power of that engine honestly 😅
@@alfredfabulous3640 you are right ! I am a private Pilot of Cessna aircraft now for more than a decade. And due to my airshow displays I know a lot of people. The problem is most of the time that UL Pilots do everything themselv! Maintainace of the engine, repair cracks from hard landings. And those guys often can’t put a nail into a wall with an hammer but when it’s about Ultra light aircraft they all become qualified craftsman….. I saw so many crashes myself…. Sadly !!! Also as a certified mountain pilot I can only say…. All those crashes that happens at our Austrian mountain pilots meeting have always been Ultralight aircraft. Best example if you want to land a Cessna at mountain fields in france or Italy you need to make a course that costs you about 6-7000 euro. You get trained by a super skilled instructor and to a lot training with different landing techniques. As an UL pilot with your plane you can go to the same landing spots without any qualification!!!! We saw gravestones at those fields!!!! All from Ultralight pilots….. I hope this answers your questions and explains my thoughts and experiences! Happy landings
Yea these are safe as anything else well maintained. In fact safer as the stall speeds are lower and they are much more forgiving. Thr Cessnas I flew in for my flight lessons were older and probably in worse condition than this bird is.
@@jedimindtrix2142 yep. You could make a perfectly fine and safe plane, with stall speeds so low even a certified idiot like me could fly it! However, you could also make a s*icide machine. All depends on how thorough you are, how skilled you are and your materials! I'm positive i could probably make something that flew okay if given enough time, and I'm even more sure I could make something that DIDN'T fly at all, no matter what 😂😅
What state is this in. I bought a Mini Max a few years ago that I couldn’t go get. It was on the eastern state line of South Dakota. I think of it sometimes.
We’re are Oklahoma. My husband helped build this minimax over 20 years ago. We bought it off the widow of his dear friend who passed away a few years ago.
There are different engines with different power outputs possible : The lowest, I believe is the single pistone Hirth F33 with some 28 PS ......over to half VW Beetle engine with over 50 PS.
Hi! Have you heard about the new AEROKIT app for small aviation pilots? The application was really good as I thought. Too bad it's only on android... What do you think of it? There are: Interactive aeronautical worldwide map Detailed airports information TAF & METAR weather AIP/ AIS links Most popular airplanes checklists PDF Reader E6B Calculators Al Assistant
