This is a video I was supposed to post many months ago but at least I finally got it done. Its a slightly different format to my usual content so I hope you guys like it.
Here is the first fish tank that I've officially setup at my new house. Its a 6ft x 1.5ft x 2.8ft glass aquarium that I've done my best to try and aquascape and then I've gone ahead and dumped over $11,000 worth of rare aquarium fish.
So what better time to make a video on it than when I'm adding even more rare fish. But first I had to go an do a pretty significant water change since I had been slacking off with the maintenance.
Would love to hear any feedback on the video and let me know if I should make more videos like it.

Use some carbon pads/carbon bags or even setup a purigen reactor. The tannins will vanish and the clarity will be top notch. I know you would know this but just saying it anyway (Reactor for purigen is insanely good on my tank) I like the scape, may not be an olvier knott etc. but i can see the fish enjoying the space and the structure. To me the health and enjoyment of the fish are far more important.

Thanks mate! I initially had a few carbon pads and some packs of purigen in there but the driftwood piece is pretty big so can't seem to remove it quick enough. So now I'm just letting it slowly depleat over time with each water change. And yeah you definitely won't be seeing me at any Aquascape competitions anytime soon 😂

@@ObsidianExotics Ah mate the tank scape is great I really do like it. Maybe try some bolbitus mine thrived when I had tannins seemed to love it. I really recommend purigen or something like that (Macropore) it seems to go a lot further and actively pull a lot more out. I had the same issue as you when I put an entire weathered Gumtree stump in my tank, but with purigen/Macropore etc. it quickly sucked it all up and I haven't had issues since. This was a big 1x0.8m piece too.
@ObsidianExotics
@ObsidianExotics 7 месяцев назад
@jonathankool1997 Yeah was actually thinking of doing Bolbitus if the Java fern didn't work out. Definitely might give the Macropore a try. Heard a few people say good things about it.

If you use a shorter hose you'll get better suction but if you must use a long hose go to bunnings and buy a 30mm hose you pay per meter but really helps the job along also cheers for the content the l114 are my favorite plec what do you guys pay for datnoid over there
@ObsidianExotics
@ObsidianExotics 7 месяцев назад
Thanks mate! I do actually use a 30mm hose when I want to dump alot of water quickly. But with the gravel syphon I use a standard garden hose so I can run the water out to the back garden. Yeah L114 are actually slightly rarer here compared to L600. As for datnoids they can he anywhere from $350 for a tiny juvie to almost $2000 to a high quality adult.
