Nice video dude. I've started with the Mini SE and it's still my favourite drone. It's the one with the smallest controller and when travelling it's all about size. Love the RC controller too but it's just too big.
Yeah, I can completely understand that. It is a great starting point 👌 If you would like to get more out of your drone then check out my drone course: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀
Bought the Mini 2SE purely because of price and i can use batteries controller etc with my Mini 2, plus the OcuSync controller. All in all the Mini 3 is the best, boils down to what one can afford. Dan please do a Mini 2SE gimbal settings video, as it is completely different to the Mini 2.👍
Mini SE range. At one of my favorite places to fly here in Melbourne I get a max range of 213 metres before RTH kicks in. Stumbled on a fix, manual channel select. Got 452 metres this morning still bad but much better. I will do more experiments with this.
Hmmm, that is weird. Maybe you are flying close to an airport or military base. I would suggest downloading the app: ok2fly. You can also connect with me here: linktr.ee/danstubetv
I chose the Mini 2 SE - improved controller, raw photos, and excellent price. I would’ve rather purchased the 3, however this was my first drone purchase. I didn’t want to invest too much money but I can say that now with a few hours flight time I am already looking forward to my next purchase. I would love to have a drone in each class. Ok now I’m going to search your videos for an Air 2s vs Mavic 3 Classic. That’s my next consideration! P.S. Im a new subscriber, I appreciate your tone knowledge in all this! Thank you, From San Antonio, Texas!
Thank you for the support. I appreciate your comment. The Mini 2 SE is a great starting point, my drone course can help you become fearless with your drone: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀 I have that exact comparison on my channel. I have a bunch of comparisons that might help you make the right decision for your upgrade ⬆️
Hi there,Could u pls tell me whether I should buy the DJI mini 2 or mini 2 se,I am a beginner(I do know basic flying tho) but this will be my first DJI drone.I do know that the main difference is the camera but is 4K really usable practically in terms of storage or quality? And is there a major difference in repair costs between the two because it has a better camera and a led at the front if it matters? Pls tell me this I would really appreciate it!
You are correct, the main difference is the 4K camera. The file sizes will be larger and the quality is better on the Mini 2. The Mini 2 has been discontinued so it might be hard to get your hands on. The Mini 2 SE is going to be supported for longer but you are missing out on the 4K video quality. I would suggest the Mini 2: amzn.to/4aLJRXp
@DansTubeTV thanks for the reply. The mini 2 se is 100 more, but im going with it as a start because it has a much better range of 10km rather than 1km. Thanks for the video and info. It helped to choose out of the many options.
Thanks for this comparison. I’m very new to the hobby. I picked up a lightly used Mini SE for $150 USD and was happy with that. Then I saw a Mini 2SE with accessories for just $50 USD because he had a hard landing and cracked a gimbal support. I can get the support for $15 to repair it, all in $65 with 2 batteries. I was definitely going to fix and keep the 2SE & sell the Mini SE, but I may rethink that because of the 3rd party apps. Do you think they’ll ever release the Mini 2se SDK? Thanks, Dave in USA.
Thanks Dave! I don’t know about that, nothing has been mentioned yet. I wonder whether SDK support will be removed as DJI are doing waypoints in house and have not shown interest in releasing the SDK for the Mavic 3, Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 or Mini 2 SE.
The Mini SE is going to be discontinued, I broke an arm on mine and D1 store said that they no longer hold parts for the Mini SE. Got one off e-bay.This was last month.
@@DumPixelsmate I was at your stage wanting a drone and I was looking at the price tag and was like okay shit trust me mate the price on the mini 2 se is good if you look at the mavic series which can range from 1.5k to 3k British pounds the mini drones are good because they might be a few hundred pounds but it’s a good entry my first drone was the original mini and had that for 5 years if I were you I would save that little bit more for the mini 3 it’s a newer drone and if you save hard and want it enough you will be suprised how quick it is untill you can afford it just keep saving my man
@@DansTubeTV oh no 😢 I didn't know that. It makes sense then. It's still on DJI's homepage, however it says it's out of stock. It was probably too good comparised to the Mini 3 (not the Mini 3 Pro). Therefore the Mini 2 SE.
Mini se looks out of stock at DJI so clearly the mini 2se replaces it. Like that was a surprise. Sad you can’t get the third party offerings on the 2se.
@@DansTubeTV Yeah _ know. I connect with DJI on this question and their official position is that the Mini 2SE is not in their SDK queue at the moment. These are getting plenty of uptake though - Costcoin Canada and Sam's Club in the US both sell a slightly watered down Mini 2SE "fly-more-ish" bundle. It includes the base DJI Mini bag and two batteries for the price of the non-fly more bundle drone. No charger, but you can pick those up off of Amazon easy-peasy. About as good a deal as you are going to get on our side of the Pond.
