Great kit. I made mine out of a maxpedition beefy and it lives underneath my drivers side seat. I thought about getting smaller tools, but with the truck I decided on 3/8 drive socket set. Screwdriver set, trim panel pry kit, tons of stuff. I have a video on my channel where I talk about everything in it. Cheers
Good points about the vice grips, always carry some. I once did a temporary repair on a throttle cable, just clamping the ends together, & tying them to the car with string so they wouldn’t fall off!
Nice car kit. Perhaps you could also add some high-quality electrical tape for temporary fixings, a small telescoping magnet and a stubby Wiha screwdriver that comes with several tips in the handle
Cool stuff, some good ideas there. Actually just put one of these together this afternoon. I’d seen those new Leatherman kits they came out with recently and just did my own. They’re pretty cool but us gear guys generally already have all that.
I have that same Thrunite penlight. I use to edc it for a while. I would put it in my mouth for hands free operation. My spit would mess up the clicky switch until it dried. Now it sits in my car. I edc a Streamlight usb microstream.
great vid as always Ben, nice Kit. i carry many of same items in my Kit, but also have a half a hacksaw blade (approx 6 inch long) with one end wrapped with Gamma Grip tape, and also a Klein 11 in 1 screwdriver (for places where multi cant reach or fit) and a small 5 inch Needle-nose Vice Grip (instead of reg vice you have) ...and Knipex Mini Cobra ...and few ranger bands and a few heavy/medium gauge wire lengths for emergency twist ties. all the best & stay safe !
@@livingsurvival yeah, they are worth the ridiculous price, get the 2 pack Mini Set with included Belt pouch, it's a better deal than buying just individually. all the best to you Ben !
A thumbwheel ratchet, or a Versatool Pro Driver Set--- mini mosquito clamp --- large rubber band - a small allen key set. - a hot glue stick in mine instead of the Epoxy, - I have a mini self contained file set, USA made that is self contained the size of a fat pencil, I have the Knipex mini Cobras, but have considered the vice grip too. I have an all steel precision oiler instead of the WD 40, and for blade touchup I went with the sharps retractable diamond one But I'm using the Maxpedition EDC pouch, so I have a bit more room Gerat video!!!
Might want to try epoxy putty instead of JB weld. A glue stick works with a lighter and a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter with work with your leatherman and a gator universal socket. Just a thought.
Another suggestion for the empty spot, a pen-style extendable magnetic retrieval tool or extendable pen-style mirror. I ALWAYS use both when wrenching on a vehicle.
Of you wear glasses you can use a hair the or strip of Velcro to attach the limelight to a bow of the glasses to use the light as a makeshift or backup headlamp.
Loved the video and the kit.but may I suggest a couple of fish hooks and some fishing line , and maybe a fish scaler. And yes a fire starter is a must have. Thanks.
@Center Masster I wouldn't use paracord in a tool kit. too bulky and will melt when put by anything hot. Wire isn't af flexible but it has a bunch of uses that you can't use paracord for.
For me, every tool on a multitool is worse than its budget, stand-alone equivalent. Even one as good as the Surge. And Leatherman’s bits are awful. The only advantages are size and weight
