The only overhead signal box on any miniature railway in the UK as far as we have found David. We have been to a lot. Brilliant railway looking forward to a possible visit with the Scot next year. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes Chris
Glad you enjoyed it... What a great day we had; weather was amazing for this time of the year. When I film in a location so nice as this you just have to add a few of the attractions for future visitors to see. Just hope the railway enjoys my videos as well.....Best wishes to you and Jayne. Truly excellent Chris! I enjoyed both part 1 and 2 and you didn’t need to apologise for the hand-held camera views as there was no real problem. The BMR seems to be an excellent lay-out but I was intrigued to know where it’s located so I could plan a visit. However, much to my surprise (as you don’t give the location of the BMR) I found the railway is actually in Essex…not near me at all I’m afraid. Then I Googled the BMR website and took a look using the Google Earth satellite views…it was worth it, and the BMR provide a lot of technical detail on their website and information about the railway and it’s amazing amount of rolling stock. Perhaps I might be able to visit the railway one day…it’s a good 300 mile round trip from my home..but in the meantime I can enjoy the videos, which backed up by the website information and the satellite photos on Google Earth…further my enjoyment. Thanks for the videos! Rob in Bournemouth.
Hi Rob. Thank you for your kind comment. I will have to put the locations of the railways on the video as it could help viewers to find it if they intend to also make a visit. What we normally do is find an area where we have a few railways to visit. Find a caravan site as near to the area as we can. We then book that for a long weekend break. We then get the best of both, a short break mixed in with some train riding/filming. Plus, it cuts out a long drive in one day. We also use Google to find railways and locations. Best wishes Chris.
Lovely video If I win the lottery, I want to buy a miniature railway for the garden. . might need a bigger house first There's a miniature railway in South Shields, just a few miles from where I live Regards from Whitley Bay
Hi Brian. Sounds like every ones dream, some are luckier than others. It is nice that they share them though like the B M R. Best bet is to join your local Model Engineering Society and have fun with them. Would that be the Lakeshore Railroad? We have a film on this channel of that one. Still need to visit the M.E.S in Roker Park Sunderland. Also the Tyneside Society of M.E in Newcastle upon Tyne. Regards Chris
Hi John. Welcome to my channel. The elevated tracks are more for the smaller 5"/ 3 1/2" gauge loco's. The owner/drivers find it easier to drive these loco's as you very nearly sit behind the cab or tender on the elevated track. If the loco has a tender, they have extended control arms to fill the gap between the cab and driver. If these gauges of loco are at ground level, they normally have a riding/driving truck which makes driving a little harder and can give you back pains. I hope this helps you John. Best wishes Chris.
