Good video How did you solve the cables when moving the tv arm? How would you leave some extra cable so that when I move the tv arm it has enough cable to take of but without seeing it? With cable management?
I rest the extra cable slack on the mount. Some mounts come with cable management. This one didn't, but it was straight forward to rest the cables on the 'pivot arm'. Hope that makes sense.
Lol I just realized there is a sub woofer in my garage because my son tries to pretend he's not stashing his crap there by putting it up above my reach. I'm going to surprise him by putting my new cord control system in it 😂
First actual video which show how to manage cables vs Cutt ng your paper card house. I don't really call that cable management. Thanks for showing a proper management video
Nice job M. . I don't understand why you can't find outlets whether they're rca / coaxial / power that aren't at some other than 90º out of the wall. So tired of plugging stuff in and it sticks out 3" from the wall surface. Need stuff pointed 45º left or right ... or down so that there's no need for funky cords or adapters. That and for cable .... every cable guy that has come out over the years complains about those 90º cable adapters.
Thank you so much for responding... I have similar mounting bracket. I will def order the raceway to hide my cords. Thanks for your advice about the slack. Your video is the best I’ve come across.
Looks great and really well thought out. The corner mounted track is out of the line of sight. It would have been very obvious had the track been ran up the wall centered on the television.
Did you have to get any replacement hdmi cords or anything that may not have been long enough to reach ? I know you had to get a longer extension cord for something but I was wondering about any other cords
I had to get an extension cord for the TV power cable, but I think I had a HDMI cable already on hand that was long enough. I'm using a 6.6 ft cable (I think), but use whatever length works for your space.
Thank you for posting. To the point and informative. 10/10 I will also use this method for running cable in ,y small RV motor home. This is the only channel I have felt worthy of subscribing to.
Can you still swing out ur tv in dif directions with cords in the raceway... I’m trying to find way to hide cords and swing tv to view in 2 room areas. Thanks great video. Nice and minimal 👍🏻
Yes, I'm able to move the TV so I can access the back panel. You just need to leave enough slack for the cables coming out of the top of the raceway. I wrap the slack around the TV mounting arm.
i love the idea but my question is can you do this over a fireplace of so can you show how. my husband and i are getting a new tv and i want it over the fireplace but he doesn't because of the wires. help please
🙌🏾 I painted my bedroom yesterday, so I took everything down. I'm happy to report the raceway did not damage my wall when I peeled it off and the box solution looked good as new - no heat damage as some folks suggested. I'll be putting everything back up today. I'll probably take some pics for instagram. I think I mentioned in this video that I was moving - that didn't happen being I got married instead - then the pandemic happened. Hopefully 2022 will be the year!
Great job. Have same setup, without box.. Lol, but genius solution. I loathe cables and wires as well, not that I know too many ppl who do, some just don't care as much. What did you do for purple effect? Too cool. I want something like that.
@@Myxo14 NP. I did check it out after.. colored led lights..found em pretty cheap on Amazon. I'm getting them for basement mancave. Too cool. Idk why I missed it. I mesn, what don't they have.
A universal sound bar mounting bracket should work - there are plenty to choose from on Amazon. The bracket will attach to the back of the tv mount and the sound bar will fit under the TV.
Looks great, but what happens when you move and want to unplug the TV or just change the TV, do you have to rip the cable cover off the wall? Presumably that peals the paint off the wall as well? They should really make cable covers with opening on the side so you leave the piece intact on the wall but able to take the wires out without any damage.
Great video, but i still think the 20 minuite patch job (if you were to sell your house) would be worth it as cables thru wall will always be the cleanest.
+Elle Dash Yeah, I was concerned about that as well. I monitored the heat from the cable box for the first week, and the bottom of the box was warm at most. My cable box is small and low powered, so it's not much of a concern. If I had a full sized receiver or something high powered, I'd probably line the box with something heat retardant.
Nice video and great tips! *HOWEVER* it is pronounced shena in Swedish (exactly the way you pronounced it but with shh in the beginning instead of "g") 😁
@@Myxo14 Video: Minimalist TV Cable Management Tutorial - How to hide TV wires without cutting holes in your wall!! Time=4:15.Also, I need an affordable, and listenable, sound bar for my TV. Receiver and big speakers have got to go to a new location.
The led strip I'm using is this one here: amzn.to/2iGkpxb You could get a Hue or Lifx led strip, but i think those are over priced if you're only going to use it for TV back-lighting.
Myxo14 oh ok I have a reassembly small bedroom and I want a tv near my desk which I will sit close to it also watch from my bed and I was wondering what size I should go for a 32inch as I'm sitting about a meter away or a bigger 40inch
+Harrison Gardner My bedroom is small as well...filming different angles was pretty tough for this video (with the bed in the way). Your dilemma is a tough call. I originally had a 32 inch, but found it too small to watch from my bed, so I returned it and bought the 40. I find the 40 perfect. I think a 40 inch would be too big for sitting a meter away, but viewing from your bed, I think you'll be happier with the 40.
