Is that bow guard a break away if you hit something solid, to keep from bending the shaft?

I have a slight bend in the shaft in the stow position why is that?

I have one as well, it's never been a problem at least for me yet.

@jkylel7401 my trolling motor guy told me it was natural and was not gonna cause any issues
