I am replacing my veritable speed switch on my Minn Kota and the new switch wires are red white and black my old one has 2 black wires and a yellow/green wire not sure how to wire it to work Thanks
Why would you put the pump into maintenance mode? This video is really confusing because I've learned how to put the raptor pump into maintenance mode but why do I need to move the raptors up and down manually?
Hi I have a Ulterra 36 Volt Minn Kota and want to replace the wires from the Minn Kota Removable Plug and Socket but there are no details where the wires are connected to Minn Kota unit as it was disconnected for a repair to the control unit due to water ingress but There are no clear points to connect new wires. Are the new wires needing 90 Degree female Spade connectors as I did not disconnect the wiring I don't want to get the Positive and Negative in the wrong way as other unit I have seen show both cables with female connectors on the new wires surely they should not be able to get cross connected ie negative onto positive terminal . Is the Right connector Positive? And is the Left terminal the Negative? As athe installer of my unit made up a female to male short extension which will cause higher resistance over time as the corrosion takes over due to the lack of water proofing in the electrical connector area. Pretty Bad Design for a unit that is sold for Salt Water Usage? With No adequate Sealing to keep any water away from the power supply connections corrosion and failures are going to occur on a regular basis. I have also had issues with the Shaft delaminating after Three months use, Had it Replaced then the control unit gets water ingress and shorts out the PC board. This is not a well designed unit Not Fit For Purpose for use in salt water or even in rain in my opinion
How will the PCL charger interact with a BMS that floats the voltage at 12.8v after reaching a full charge at ~13.5v? Will it read it as being low charge and reinitiatethe charging process if left plugged in? What voltage would initiate a charging cycle after completing a full charge in the lithium setting?
The new Quest motors are fantastic! However I recommend MinnKota supply a longer mounting bolt with there composite bracket. The provided bolts are too short for many applications and longer ones are hard to source. 👍🏻
That's called the "brush retainer". It's used during assembly to hold the brushes back so the armature can easily be installed. It confused me as well, but that is literally all its for. As the armature gets pushed in, the paper ring is pushed out of the way and allows the brushes to spring in to place.
Nice video, very detailed and good advice. One tip, cleaning up silicone off your hands and/or excess that squeezes out, such as in this case, use a paper towel and rubbing alcohol, comes right off - nice and clean job!
I bought a used Minn Kota 24/36 volt trolling motor. How do I know what type of control board is in it? If I took a pic and sent it in, would you be able to identify it? Thanks for your time.
Excellent Video, But At 16:19 I disagree, in the minn kota ulterra owners manual Minn kota recommends greasing the stow and deploy shaft with marine grease, I’ve been doing that and no issues, I strongly recommend greasing it for smooth stow and deploy,
How much of that nose cone is solid? If I needed to trim off 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch is there enough material there to do that? Or is it pretty much hollow with the exception of the potting material?

So if I am running 2 12v batteries in parallel, what size breaker should I use? Would a 60 am be sufficient, or do I need to go to 100amps?? My trolling motor is a 12V, but it has a GPS anchor, I run other electronics off of those batteries- a single 12v might not be enough capacity to give me all day run time?
I have a 2 bank charger all hooked up to my 2 batteries with a positive and negative coming from the boat from a previous owner or factory not sure. Question is where do the pos and neg wires coming out of the trolling motor go? My old motor had a plug into the boat. The rings on the end are super small
