I rebuilt a 1967 6hp on an old 1976 25’ catalina pop top sailboat that literally saved 4 peoples lives at catalina island. Zero hours on the fresh rebuild, only test ran. But the winds and seas got heavy and the new $1000 sail tore at a seam and we went wave surfing, we fired up that little johnson and made it safely to catalina harbor and stayed for the night. Next day motored completely all the way around the island while fishing, caught and cooked calico bass for dinner, slept for a few hours until sorta sober and motored back to long beach in the dark 6 knots at at time.
beautiful! bummer about the long shaft. hows the head temp? id be concerned with a head gasket being original as well. i always put a fresh one on as they will leak eventually.
Can you please another video I want to see the inside of the throat of the carb is there a brass pipe or is it a half a pipe starts at the bottom.. a true 35 has a half pipe get back . I'll whate for your reply ✌️
@@kyledevries4423 all it was Johnson n rude had to put a pin like nail in the top of carb so it drops in the pipe to restrict gas flow to be a 30 . people don't know there's a cap on top to take the pin out for a true 35 hp take care friend. FL
