Lots more progress on the wagon plus some mint door trims for the wagon! looks like black interior is the go. Stainless bolts: www.thestainlessshop.com.au
You have the hatchback as well !! 😎cannot wait to see that. I'm gonna look up where I can find cavity wax locally, never ever been told to do that. Priceless information mate, always appreciate the gems you share in your videos. As always thank you for sharing 👍🏽
Looking shmickkk!! Been awesome watching this from the start, just shows how quickly and affordably you get do up a car or a bike with even far less facilities and a good understanding.🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@Phil_Bennett yeah awesome thats all its is, excuses only hold yourself back from greater things, take what you have and put your arse into it! Will never get more reward from just “doing it” with these projects, its all the way or no way, half arsing is never and option 🤙🏼
really love the tips, will that cavity wax wash off with water or melt on hot days ?(like if water is running past the door belts etc) black and green is a great combo! I fitted magna tailgate struts to My gemini wagon after fitting speakers in the tailgate and it nearly takes your head off also.(I'm more concerned about the alloy nutsert i used to mount the second ball ends for the second one. seems good otherwise.) good tip about the tiny holes in the wiper plenum etc causing over spray if not covered. probably wouldn't have thought of that.
I clean the parts/vinyl with wax and grease remover and a grey scourer pad. It leaves the surface very clean and raw. The guys at lonsdale paints told me I don't need primer and I've never had any issues
Looking pretty schmick :) I've learnt something new today, I've never heard of cavity wax before, thanks for pointing that out :) A quick look online and it seems there's a million different varieties, brands and container sizes for as many different prices, from a Dynax S50 for $72, 3M product (511g) for about $40 (to use with an applicator kit for an additional $40) to a Troton brand 400g aerosol for $18.95. I also believe there's one that can be used for exposed panels too, such as the underside and wheel arches. Is there any particular reason you chose the one you use?
Cheers man! Glad my knowledge is getting out there and potentially helping people with their own cars 🙂 I just grabbed this one off the shelf so there was no particular reason I went with this brand. I actually found it a little thin and would probably prefer something a little thicker in the future. Around 15-20 bucks for an aerosol or 40ish + around 30 bucks for the stoneguard gun is probably around the ballpark. If you have a compressor I'd grab the gun because the you can do the black stoneguard too 😎
@@Phil_Bennett Thanks for the tips :) It's always good to learn something new :) I've not long ago had my old HC 929 repainted, and after watching your vid in regards to the cavity wax, I'm pretty keen to make sure it stays in good nick :) I do have a compressor and was thinking the same re the gun, I don't know if it would be an easier way to apply it compared to an aerosol, but the gun would most likely give better coverage :) Good choice with the black interior, and keeping the chrome too, I reckon :)
@@Phil_Bennett That we do :) Mine is actually an '89 Sedan, I can't fit in the Hardtops, I'm too tall, the turret in them is lower than the Sedan :P I've been wanting to turbo mine for quite some time now, I watched your drifter green HC vids with envy with the turbo you fitted ;) Do you remember how much in parts and materials that turbo fitment cost you? Do you have a list of all the bits you needed to fit it? :)
@@AH-cn5li It's hard to put a total cost on it I just did it bit by bit and didn't keep track of the cost. If I was gonna do a street one I would make manifolds and keep all the air conditioning and stuff. There is going to be more V6 turbo content on the channel 😉
Over the years I've collected and wrecked out a fair few that have been too far gone to fix, anything else I need these days I just turn to Facebook groups
