Thanks for the wonderful how to play! This is quick and informative and perfect! Just to give you a head's up, we have updated the tiebreaker rules in the 2nd printing so that the first tie breaker is the player with MORE Buildings/Plans in their Neighborhood, rather than fewer.
Perfect, thank you so much! I had read the confusing instructions, and even followed the QR code to the site that was supposed to have the official video, and couldn’t find it there. This was just what I needed. It’s a fun, portable, quick game, so glad I can play it now!
So glad it helped you learn the game! I just got their newest game, Mint Cooperative, in the mail a few weeks ago so I’ve been itching to play this again. I do find the rule books a bit confusing and ambiguous (especially Mint Cooperative) so I understand the frustration. It’s a fun little game and I’m glad I picked it up. Let me know how you like it after you play and thanks for the comment!
Heck yeah, thanks for the comment! Trying to get back into making these videos. Just put one out for ROVE, check it out if you’re interested. First video in 4 years so I’m a little rusty lol
Johannes Höhmann It's getting a reprint early next year in connection with the Mint Delivery Kickstarter by the same designer. Hopefully you can find it then!
The steps in the upkeep phase are listed as an unordered list. In the video, you describe the upkeep phase as if it were an ordered list. When the upkeep phase begins and someone has 7 points, can all players still aquire their stars/points from their buildings that would gain additional stars during upkeep?
The Upkeep phase is ordered and the first thing you check is the game ending. If someone has 7 or more stars or there’s not enough Plans to refill the supply then you end the game and don’t apply any Upkeep effects on buildings. I’m assuming you are talking about the Gallery. If the game doesn’t end and you put a mint on the Gallery during upkeep but that pushes you over 7 stars then you still play the next round as normal and the game will end during the next upkeep when you check for 7 stars again. This has been clarified by the designer on BGG in this thread: boardgamegeek.com/thread/1727034/end-game-triggering-question-gallery Hope that clears everything up!
@@MyklSkeleton ah yes, the Gallery was specifically what I had in mind. Thanks for the link, I can tell that is the intended way that the game should be played although the rules read differently. Ordered lists should have numbers, not bullets. Under overview it reads "Once a player has 7 points earned (or...) the end of the game is triggered. The game will then be over at the end of the current round" Maybe I could point these comments to Justin in case they want to make small copy edits for future versions! Haha Thanks for the reply and the awesome video
Just purchased it last week end it is brand new, take away plastic cover the card however cards looks dirty is it the intention of this game or I found some repack of this game?
The cards do have a dirty look to them. I’m pretty sure that was an aesthetic choice they did on purpose. It doesn’t really bother me but I can see where it might bother some. Sounds like you got a new version as long as it was shrink wrapped.
