The pin circled at 5:23 is the wrong one - you actually want the pinhole to the left of that one for the function button. Whoops.

So, I recently wanted to build one of these, and I found the parts list, but I think some things are sold out, or I'm dumb and can't find them. I was wondering if all the parts are still for sale and if so can you make a better list? (The wiki one doesn't include the controller board and such)

Thanks for the updated build Wermy. I ordered my parts from you and Helder about a week ago, and just started getting my shipments of the other stuff from Amazon and EBay. So excited to start my build. I just finished my first quadcopter build and need to start another project ASAP! Thanks for all the hard work

If possible just (IM STUPIDER THEN YOU) solder the headphone jack with the speaker wires to the speaker pins but put the jack on the side (theres room by the "funtion" key

if you remove the botom left screw post of updated parts you can extend the jack out of the tin with out a speaker of course

I bet you could move the bottom plate higher and have a little extra space for other things as well also you could put grips and other comforting materials on it to make it more casual

Have you looked into possibly adding a headphone jack as well as the speaker? It tends to be more convenient in some situations and it looks like there would potentially be enough space in the case.

I guess if there's one thing I'd like to see added, probably something for the shoulder buttons, like a rubber piece or something, the little buttons look a bit awkward to me. Also I'm wondering if there's a way to add a sleep mode or something, maybe pressing the function button with one of the other buttons. I'd still like to try and make one of these some time though.

On my retropie configuration, save states are controlled with the L and R buttons. Will this support save states in any way or will the shoulder button only bring up the cheat sheet?

I was thinking about trying to do this except with a small keyboard with a track pad on it. Is there such a keyboard that would fit inside an altoids tin?

I like the idea of the function button, but I think it still needs some work for user friendliness. For example: Replace the wall of text cheat sheet with a graphical diagram. However, what I think would be even cooler is if the 3D printed parts actually had icons indicating the functions next to the buttons. It would also be nice if the cheat sheet was shown by simply holding the function button instead of having to press R.

Hi there Wermy, first of all awesome job here. These look amazing. I would like to make one, but i live in Portugal and stuff is really hard to enter in Portugal. These guys dont joke with foreign stuff and their tax (ask Madonna she knows xD) anyway, what's the easiest way for me to get the parts i need? Warm regards and keep up the awesome work.

One little thing about this I think should change is how the blue parts don't extend to the edges and leaves a gap, besides that it's a really cool machine

That piece of sheet you put in between the battery and pi zero looks like those they use between chip and heat sink. If anything the pad will transform the heat over not isoloating the heat. The pi cpu seems directly under the 3d printed cover, so why not open some small vent to let the heats out?

I imagine the metal ridges around the control pad as well as the hinge directly to the left of the D-pad make it quite painful to play this for any prolonged period of time.

Wait a second. What's the point in using specifically Pi Zero W in a grounded metal chassis? It seems to be recessed into the chassis enough that it should almost shunt out or shield the wireless signal. Also thermal pad alone makes for a terribly ineffective heatspreader, as its thermal resistance, about two orders of magnitude higher than that of metals, quickly adds up across. Maybe using copper tape sandwiched between two insulators like acetate sheets or something like that would be better.

Wermy, I finaly was able to finish this proejct and it is working fine for the time being, a bit slow on some emulators but I suspect I may need BIOS ,etc.. One thing that I am unable to figure out is MAME. Is this supposed to emulate mame? if so are the buttons layout already custimozed for this in the image you provided? I cannot find a way to insert the coins in mame to fire up the game. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey Mr. Wermy! I love this project and thinks its awesome. I totally understand why you wouldn't be able to sell assembled versions but I was wondering if it is possible for you to sell a kit that includes all the parts necessary for the minty pi. I understand if this is too difficult for you but I would appreciate it if you consider my request.

Simon Mitchell I agree with you. As of this writing USB sound card is out of stock, battery charger comes in pack of 10, have to buy the spool of cables,etc. It would be nice if Wermy can sell the whole kit. You can exclude items that we can get in reasonable quantity like battery.

I was trying make one too but I got too lazy so I just got a very small android phone from amazon and glue in to the tin and open a ipega 9017s controller and drill big hole for the L and R buttons and for the power I made a hole and put a Lego peace to act like a button which is just pressing on the power button and for the L2 R2 button I got this Bluetooth earphones with buttons so I just remapped them
