@@ModernFrontiersmanmaybe? The Revolution wasn't openly Communist until AFTER Fidel took power. He had Americans among his ranks who were fighting for an oppressed people and they weren't Commies. The USSR didn't want to be seen as to be causing bloodshed next door to USA, but after Fidel declared the Revolution Communist, that changed. Sound familiar? In the 60s-80s Cubans were proxies for the USSR in Africa and Latin America.

Would you be willing to cover the early IDF/ pre-state Jewish forces like the Hagannah and the Palmach? I vaguely remember something about a British officer Ord Wingate (might be wrong on the name) teaching them a ton of tactics before being assigned away.
