You are correct about weight on your waist being more stable. I've never served in the military, but volunteered in National Forest for 31 years. Gone off trail through the forest, hills, and swamps. Any gear closer to my body helps my balance and lower on my body is more stable. As an old fart with no military experience or training your channel is very helpful.
You make a great point, I’ve been thinking about this since you posted the video and 14 like I have had really isnt all that realistic especially if you’re trying to keep engagements short and break contact Preferably not engage at all if possible but if I’m in something that requires 14 mags in SHTF I probably should have never got involved
I carry 23. I know some of y'all will say "BS" or it's unrealistic, but I'm a big boy and used to carrying a lot of weight. I've been training for this for a long time. I actually carry all of it.
Hand carts for soldiers to hump ammo , water, and other supplies were used by armies that were more horse drawn than mechanized. AXIS in WW1 & 2 vs the Allies. And crates would be carried by 2 man teams.
@@ModernFrontiersman Undoubtedly but militia guerillas in remote places might be able to operate 1 way missions where all supplies are staged in a secured area and expended during the operation with excess abandoned.
And I can also ditch the cart itself and maybe hide some of the heaviest stuff and come back for it if I have to hump the puckerbrush. Forgot to add food in the list of carry stuff.
I have more rigs than most people have mags. All have their place. I would never go into a fight with less than 8. Micro set ups are great in vehicle set ups. For training, 12 or more.
I have a mk3 chest rig and a crye jpc 2.0. My chest rig can hold 8 mags. (6 with a radio) and my plate carrier can hold up to 10... I have an eagle industries map pack I put shoulder straps on to make it a 24hr day pack and that holds 7 mags and I keep 1 extra mag on my battle belt... you should have a MINIMUM of 7-14 mags on you... I'm tired of seeing these "tacticool" youtubers rocking a slick plate carrier with only 3 mags on the front thinking they are some tier 1 operator not knowing you can go through 2 mags just conducting suppressive fire for team movements or to retreat ... these youtubers are going to get ignorant citizens killed
It depends on what your mission is. If i'm in a 10 man squad as a rifleman i'm carrying 12+. If i'm in a recon team with one other guy i'm carrying 6 and if i cant overwhelm the enemy in 10 seconds im bugging out.
Lessons learned rule one 1. There is never enough ammo. Always spread ammo around 1 in weapon 4 on a chest rig, 4 on a battle belt, 6 - 8 in a back pack. You can scale for mission or water obstacles such as crossing a river. Always have a small pack that can be expanded to carry it all.
A minimum of 12 30 round mags on your body some in your backpack as well as stripper clips it doesn't matter how cool you want to look running slick or all the videos you listen to the fact that needs to be remembered is we do not have a resupply let that sink in
Hey bud, off subject kinda, but maybe content idea? How do you feel about doing a vid regarding casualties/fatalities of iraq/Afghanistan wars compared to others of the past? Many dont realize the casualty rate was as high as other conflicts, the death rate was lower due to modern meds and technologies. Its important because many discount the wars because they didnt see or hear of the "bodies", so to speak. I suggest it as you are good at keeping stuff like this informative, short and to the point. Thx. Semper Fi.
awesome video. like you said it's situational. are you direct action/raiding or a qrf or just presenting a presence, or scouting. videos are looking good and like the graphics, good work is showing. 👍
I fall back to my Contracting minimum of 8 +1 in the gun on my person, and additional 2 to 7 in my day/ patrol/ go bag. Training and fitness (both mental and physical) matters!
Why The RNC Abandoned The 2nd Amendment Number 7 on the new 2024 platform list of the RNC includes the right to keep and bear arms. That does not sound to me like the RNC is abandoning the 2A. I am really getting sick of seeing this lie being spread around in the gun community.
