Not a veteran, just a grateful citizen and retired teacher and LE. Growing a a big garden, know my county sheriff and he knows me, 20 years as a firearms instructor, now training once a week with a small group of friends- trauma care, comms, bush craft, area studies, empty hand defense, and yes, icky firearms and small unit tactics. Keep up the inspiration and useful info- what you’re doing is important to folks like us
What am I doing? done? to preserve liberty? My first answer was think to myself "nothing". But, the truth is far from nothing. I am an eagle scout. And I was a scoutmaster. We taught boys to become leaders. I served 20 years in the military; including 4 combat tours. I taught men to fight for their country. I'm retired now. My wife and I help/participate in a growing local community group. We tend to older, retired, and get together once a week for dinner. But each member has offered /taught others how to raise cattle/beef, hunt deer, forage for mushrooms and ramps, grow a garden, can vegetables, how to run tractors, grade roads, plow fields, and much more. I'll point out that this community is strategically located next to a major interstate commanding access to the eastern side of the Appalachian mountains. Should the world fall apart these are the people who would turn back "Lone Wolves" and reach out a helping hand to countless "refugees" following any "Bug Out" scenario. When I'm not with our group I volunteer with Habitat for Humany. We teach kids to build homes for the underprivileged. These kids come from as far north as Maine and as far west as Chicago. We have the oportunity to show these young people what community actually looks like. And I take the opportunity to remind them all that there is still a lot of America worth saving. Not everything is accomplished with a gun. Sometimes, it's a conversation with my doctor about mass trauma training for our local hospital. She's on the board. Or talking to our health inspectors about how to deal with a mass radiation event. And every haloween we put on a haunted yard complete with a barrel full of candy. Just because no matter how close the world is to ending...well, kids still need to be kids. Hope this gives folks a few ideas. There are lots of positive things that people can do. Best of luck, Phil
Good extension from our talk prior and some of the other things that were brought up-- there's always more to these things. There is a LOT people can do but aren't. Some are simple, some take balls and dedication, to include but not limited to: - The people's civic duty to vote. - Volunteering in your community (such as community gardens, homeless shelters, elder care facilities, animal shelters, etc.). - Seeking out NGO's with a cause you believe in and get involved with them. - Joining your local Law Enforcement department or other Civil Service department (Fire/ EMS, City Works, etc.). Also volunteering for other things incorporated into that like Mass Casualty and Active Shooter Training events to better help your communities in being ready to protect and care for your neighbors and the children and elderly. - Running for local (Municipal and County) Government offices. - Running for State Government offices. - Running for National/ Federal Government offices.
"We The People" need to stick together. "Praying for peace" . Prepping otherwise any situation that could happen. Already said don't let them"'gas light" you let alone any one of us.
You nailed... Be the change . This country has the mindset that someone else is going to fix it. But the truth is we all need to be the change. Even if it means going backwards to move forwards.
It boils down to lazyness, 99 % of people are not going to leave the comforts and luxury of their homes to spill their blood and treasure to change things for future generations.

I can’t help but come to the conclusion organizing IS talking to people, it is brainstorming with your trusted locals,it is personal preparation. It is training your family all of these things are thing any serious preparedness channel is already doing these call of duty fantasies from unprepared people with large pie holes should go ignored they’re not serious and they shouldn’t be taken as such
