This is a fight that makes me sad there were no fans, two legends going at it in a super competitive rivalry with one of them retiring afterwards, would’ve been very special with fans.
@@anthonygarcia3922 yeah man, did you see Stipe's face after the 2nd fight? Looks like his face got repeatedly raked by a bobcat! The ref in this fight actually gave Cormier a warning, too.
@@undefined5083 I don’t speak like a bitch bruh I don’t know what aolr means just type the whole thing kid god you remind me of my sons way of talking bruh, let me explain in a better way. In that time the wwe offered its fans live stream and that stream would feature the person in the the background on a big screen along with other streamers making it look like if there was a crowd of fans in attendance
@@captainmarvel2821 no shit, but do you understand what im saying. The resume of losses that these fighters had came from future past or present champions
@@TheKickboxingCommunity the non-crowd arena just adds horror on every Gaethje's punches. some of Ferguson punches hits hard too don't get me wrong especially the late uppercut in the final seconds of the second round.
Stipe doesn't get enough credit for this trilogy. I know this wasn't peak DC, but to be KOd in the 1st fight, be getting outclassed in the 2nd fight & turning it around masterfully to win by finish himself was special. Then to finish it off he outclassed DC over 5 rounds. Was phenomenal to watch.
To the 2 people taking away from Stipe's win y'all do realize Stipe isn't young either right? Or that going into this fight he had surgery on his eye. Stop acting like some young buck in his prime beat up a helpless old man
@@rafayg7376 lol agree, that’s how I can tell people have either barely watched their trilogy or have extreme short term memory loss but how Damn dirty DC was fighting was insane; those eye pokes were the scummiest fouls DC could of pulled and he got away with MOST Of them.
man i forgot how great of a fight this was. one of my favs. That eye poke was brutal but DC has poked a lot of eyes himself too. A fitting end to the eyepoke trilogy
@@richardr951 if jon bones did that he be called cheater for life or if dc did that. But this blue eye cracker does it oh its okay its just pay back, why isnt it pay back when bones does it
Miocic has an adamantium chin. He gets blasted in the face and just shrugs it off. Which lets you know how hard Ngannou must hit in order to have knocked him out cold.
No ,he never have an admantium chin as got knocked down multiple times in many fights, but he had the heart and an iron will to get back into the fights ,even from the verge of loosing. A true champion 🏆 .
@@tanujpatnaik1946 having a good chin means being difficult to put out cold, not just never been getting dropped, everyone knows there is a HUGE difference between a good punch drop that results in a standup 30 seconds later and then a good punch that puts you out on your feet.. i really really really really don’t understand how some of you people cant seem to get this through your dense skulls.
@@HbVki Having a great chin means getting hit a lot of times before getting KOed ,eg// Mark Hunt ,Nate Diaz ,Yoel Romero,Tai Tuivasa or not getting KOed at all eg// Ngannou, Prime Tony Ferguson. Coming to Stipe , he got finished by Stephen Struve, DC ,even Alisters punch almost Koed him. Still I never mentioned Stipes chin being bad,I just said Stipes chin is not that great as most his victories were a result of him being skillful.
@@tanujpatnaik1946 Stipe actually has a hard chin, considering the class he's fighting in. Almost all HWs have immediate sleep power. And "almost KOed" is NOT KO'd. You're either KO'd or you're not...there's no almost.
*Stipe had numerous eye surgeries because mr. potato head kept intentionally eye poking him.* Go back and watch the second fight, it’s so obvious. EVERY SINGLE JAB Cormier sticks his thumb into Stipe’s eyes. Then he leaves his hands out fingers extended. Dirty cheat.
@@mikehunt7586 so dc gets shit for the eye poke in the first fight, but the worst eyepoke in the trilogy which came from stipe, and dc never even got time to recover, is praised?
Welllll Clearly even the SLOW MO CAM wasn't good enough for you to clearlyyy see that stipes arm hits dcs arm as stipe begins to throw the punch thus moving cormiers hand Upwards from stipes shoulder towards his face ! Thank God your not an announcer judge or referee lol
@@takerfan4ever he did that shit against Jones and he never poked him once open you're damn eyes in the first fight the dude had his bare thumb in Miocic eyes
These 2 had such an underrated trilogy 2 and 3 should be evidence enough to the people that think Jon is gonna walk through Stipe that jon is in for a FIGHT
But Junkie "poke" Jones' 2 biggest tactics are Sleepay Mumblic's 2 biggest weaknesses : eyepokes and PEDs (as shown by Daniel Cornea, Trencis HGHgannou and Steyefan Struve) PictoJon is gonna come in with a whole pharmacy in his veins, fingers extended with sharpened fingernails, ready to thrown low blows at any moment
I'm a huge fan of DC and still am but that eye poke was 100% deserved. DC was always sneaky with those and Stipe had enough and shoved half his finger in his eye socket.
You are no DC fan. To this day I am sick and tired of hearing about numerous eyepokes from DC which were never there. The first fight DC poked stipe in the eye which looked super intentional. After that no eyepokes were there. At least not intentional. Even knuckles to the eye which stipe reacted were termed as eyepokes God knows why... Moreover couple of eyepokes (unintentional) from stipe were there as well (before the 3rd fight). If someone insists about DC poking multiple times then please put time stamps in their fights which is in ufcespanol official channel.
@@neerajbholan5369 bro watch ALL his fights with stipe lmfao EVEYONE SEEN it why do you think anyone will buy what your saying watch it again or at least watch a yt video on all of dcs eye poked on stipe
@@captaincaveman471 i am not assuming. It's for people like you to do. I have watched that fight a lot of times and i didn't find that amount of eye pokes. So for those who are making these wild accusations just show it to me with time stamps. And nobody has done the thing except blabbering and cussing me. And people do lie because they hate DC for his jones saga which is just hilarious.
People who give credit for eye pokes are so weird. Neither of them should eye poke, revenge or not. Especially if it's closes your eye and the ref doesn't pause the action
I’m not a huge UFC fan, but Cormier was a great champion and was able to bow out with his head held high. He had nothing to prove and was on top for a long time. It’s a shame his last fight was during Covid in an empty arena.
@@TBE99 LOLFUCKNO. Did you not see the 10+ eye pokes that DC administered in a masterclass of eye poking? If not, you must have been eye-poked yourself! 🤣
He would not have won this one if not for the horrid eye poke he gave DC. He completely shut his eye and impacted the remainder of the fight drastically. Cheaty win but still a win.
@@canuzun44 And DC would have never won the first fight without his eye poke. he even did it multiple times in the 2nd fight, cant blame Stipe for getting one back
A perfect example that stipe's head movement and footwork can be on point. He did got hit, yes he's turning 40 but with the proper time preparation he'll be a problem.
@@trentejames9773 he’s a bit too traditional with it sometimes i think, gets hit way too often with unorthodox non-boxing strikes, just my opinion. I may be wrong
Cormier had to set a record with the amount of eye pokes landed during his three fights against Stipe. They will never count them up or take notice of it but damn I'd say he got at least 37 eye pokes in.
You could tell they were holding back, i caught a few moments where stipe was gonna throw a high kick and didnt. You might think this makes the fight boring, it makes it better in my eyes as this is a clear show of pure respect and honor.
The Greatest part of the pandemic was silent ufc events. Jesus Christ, I never realized just how hard Daniel Cormier hits at heavyweight until watching and listening to those shots.
He's quite resilient at taking a punch, provided he sees shots coming. All his KO losses came when he didn't see a shot coming, although Ngannou caught him with such a perfect check hook it probably wouldn't have mattered even if he saw the punch coming, as Ngannou has freak power and Miocic ran straight into it.
I remember watching this and being so amazed with the fact that DC didn’t get finished especially after the eye poke. He showed true warrior spirit and the heart of a champion in his last fight
DC is a POS. The only reason he EVER beat Stipe were eye pokes. DC watched tape of Stefan's win over Miocic and decided that was his only hope. Seriously. DC is a POS, I've got no respect for him whatsoever and I can't figure out why anyone does.
I have no idea why everyone was fixated on the right hand at the end of the first round. Stipe stumbled but giving the round to Cormier just for that is ludicrous.
@@zippo_muk9254 OH HE’S HURT Goes on to win a five round fifth decision. It’s kind of a pet peeve of mine. Costa/Vettori. Costa hit one good high kick in the second round. Vettori blocked it with his ugly cinder block head and no sold it. Everyone thought that that head kick won Costa the second round, even though he was loosing the round. Whittaker/Romero. Whittaker hits a head kick. Romero takes it, heaves, takes a long ass time to stabilize and breathes in like a floppy air bag. “ROMERO EATS IT LIKE A TIC TAC.”
Idk if yk how scoring works but whoever does the most damage wins the round. Cumulative damage doesn’t beat instant damage and Cormier had the most damaging strike in that round. Giving dc that round isn’t ludicrous if you actually know ufc scoring rules.
@@zippo_muk9254 bruh tf are you talking about he got rocked with a punch that made his legs buckle and he fell into the cage. Him being off balance was the direct effect of him being cracked with a solid punch.
What a fight! Damn, I forgot about that nasty eye poke from Miocic. I know it wasn't intentional, and DC had one of his own. Great performance by both men, true warriors in and out of the cage.
But seriously , in slomo it looks like Stipe's finger goes into his eye up to the middle knuckle and gets caught in the corner of his eye socket. How the hell did DC keep fighting.
@@dr.wolfgang3256 it was a fluke when he beat stipe, stipe proved that by spanking Daniel twice. he was never a light heavy champ either, u agree with that obviously
As a massive fan of Stipe, watching DC bitch about ONE eyepoke in this fight after he poked Stipe over 20 times in the last fight and Stipe NEVER complained, is absolutely hilarious to me.
In both the second and third fight... Both eyepokes (against both of them) were deemed by the referee as "punches" , when they are clearly pokes. Well aware that its superhard for the referee to see it and it happens extremly fast and often on the side where the referee aint. UFC can fix this easy by either allowing technology that detects eyepokes or "eyepoke" referee that only check for that stuff, and can fast and easy "pause" the fight for investigaion and rest for the fighter that got eyepoked. The "5 min rule" is pure bs though, some injuries takes longer time to recover from. If its not the main event, the fight should be restarted in its entierty after the main event with both fighters fresh, and maybe 1 fighter coming in to that fight with -1 point due to the eyepoke. There are lots that can be done, but noone does anything... Just waiting for when one of Danas favorites gets eyepoked out of a championship for this madness to end and things to start change.
These 2 guys to me represent the class of the UFC. Tough as nails. Consummate professionals, courteous and classy after wins and losses. Young professional athletes should take note of the way they conducted their business.
2:42 for such a natural and instinctive wrestler, I'm surprised he didn't level change and take advantage of Stipe walking forward swinging. Wasn't much distance to cover either.
I don’t care what anybody says it’s the only reason dc lost the second and third fight. He didn’t wrestle at all in the third fight and only in the first round in their second fight. One of the best wrestlers in mma and all he wanted to do is strike with stipe. His corner was screaming at him to go for takedowns all throughout the third fight it’s very bizzare
These are probably the 2 best heavyweight fighters ever. Stipe is unbelievably underrated and one can only imagine what dc would've been if he started earlier with mma.
@@thegreg9800 i don't believe Ngannou is a good fighter at all (skill wise) He's just so unbelievably powerful he can negate the skill that Stipe had in their 2nd bout.
