Such a a great performance. It's the most consistently high-quality match I've seen from him since perhaps his semi against Medvedev at Wimbledon. I might be wrong, but he looks like he's changed his forehand slightly and is now hitting with even more topspin than last season. At any rate, he's been playing fabulously ell and his game is beautifully elegant and complete.

Unreal performance from Carlos, just relentless aggressive tennis. What impressed me the most was his defense, he always had one of the best court coverage and speed but he was lacking in pace absorption and redirection, leading to him being rushed by players like Sinner and even Djokovic on fast indoor surface. Kecmanovic played really well and he was pummeling the ball. It seems Alcaraz has improved his defense. He wasn't getting rushed today. Looking like a real contendor for this Slam.

Agree, in some ways Kec is the perfect foil to Alcaraz to bring out his best - good tennis is nothing without worthy opponents. Kec has good weight of shot and area targeting, but without the raw drive and precise spot targeting of Alcaraz. One might expect similar but with more parity from the Alcaraz- Sinner prospective final.

The only thing Alcarez has to be careful with is he takes a lot of risks with his body, going after shots that he should just concede. It is a bad decision that could cause injury. You are winning in straight sets. You have to manage your body for the future. Some of the shots he goes after could cause a career ending injury. Crazy and reckless at times when there is no reason to do it when you already have two breaks and two sets. He's still immature and doesn't get that yet. The best of the best athletes in all sports recognize the importance of avoiding injury as part of your day to day philosophy of playing a sport.

I think Kecmanovic's style of play is very similar to Alcarez but Alcarez is at a level of 10 and Miomar is at a level of 8.5. It's a bad match up for Miomar because Alcarez knows he chooses the same types of shots as he does with a lot of pace and angles and the rhythm is perfect for Alcarez. Djokovic has a lot of variation with chip shots and slows the pace down which gives Alcarez trouble. The last time these two guys played it went 5 sets but Alcaraz has improved. Miomar may never beat him in the future with this trend. He should watch how Djokovic slows the game down and mixes it up. He'll never beat Alcaraz using an Alcaraz style of play. It becomes impossible.

Alcaraz went absolutely Champions League on this guy! He was so aggressive, especially with that canon forehand. Very demoralising trying to get a point, let alone a set against him. The guy hits rockets all across the court, gets to every ball, and has elite mentality. If he beats Novak in the final (again) ... .
