Mipha has her own place of remembrance now!
When I began this colossal game, I ended up visiting Zora's Domain after completing my first dungeon, the Lightning Temple. Because of this game's method of scaling difficulty and my odd routing which kept me from upgrading both my inventory and clothing, I ended up bailing by the time I reached the Water Temple in favor of heeding the game's advice to visit the Rito. This detour did not come before I managed to reach the beautiful spot of remembrance that is Mipha Court, however. I made my way to the peak of Ploymus Mountain and was greeted with far less hostility than this game's prequel had given me at the same location. Immediately, I recognized the first chord as being an homage to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and despite not having as strong of an affiliation with that release as many others, I immediately felt attached to this piece. The track also contains musical nods to Mipha's own theme, as well!
I kept this piece as faithful to the original as possible, and this video serves as the debut of my new flute! My old flute was used by my sister years ago and never properly refurbished, so ever since I began playing the instrument, I was never able to play a flute in great condition. I figured that, with MAGFest coming up and my flute skills steadily improving, it was finally time for an upgrade, and the new instrument really helped with the high-pitched long notes in this cover. I do need to work on intonation though, as I'm having to adjust to an open-holed flute.
