Yeah, sure, nice job, but still no sitar! The soul of this song is the sitar and seems like no one is capable of doing a cover with one! Seems like I'm the only one interested in doing it.
I really enjoy the instrumentation in this arrangement! The melodica and the marimba voice for the keys were a surprise but as soon as I heard each instrument it felt unmistakably right. Phenomenal cover!
Thanks so much! I didn’t want to change the foundation of this piece because it’s already such a fantastic song, so I remember spending a ton of time perfecting every sound and effect. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
This is one of my favorite tracks from the OST, and I laughed reading your description. I didn't realize it was such a hidden song, but that's because I've replayed the track a million times afterwards and forgot the reality of its short stint in-game 😆. Anyway, this sounds SO GOOD. I can totally imagine it being fitting for the Sacred Grove as you experience. Your rendition is honestly my favorite version of this piece. The instrumentation is fantastic, and I especially love the sound of the shakuhachi and clarinet. Gonna have to listen to this one a few more times. Great job!
I feel like I’ve been missing out for so long having not known about this piece! As soon as I made it to the Sacred Grove I had to stop and listen for awhile. It means a lot that enjoyed my cover so much! I’ve been very excitedly tossing the shakuhachi into any covers I can, and I’m glad to hear it was well received here!
got this in the reccomended of the zohar piano cover ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kQ0ZZUXgswQ.html watch it if you havent, imo this guy is probably the best pianist ive ever heard ), sounds and this sounds very nice, cool cover.
Saw this when it first came out but didn’t have time to comment until now. This is SO nostalgic!!! You both not only captured the song but expanded it so tastefully (like that guitar solo *chef’s kiss* 👏). Though I’ve been a silent lurker, I admire the work you do on this channel since I can’t imagine all the hard work of playing multiple instruments in one cover. Keep up the great work!!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! It’s been a lot of fun continuously improving with each video, and it means a lot to have people watching and supporting me. Also, I agree, Ian’s solo was great and fit the vibe perfectly!
I noticed some negative feedback about the tones of the flute, and while I don't know music too well, I'd say I agree they're a little off. But this is still great work man. That part in the second half where you pair the flute with the sax and the back and forth between them was COOKING. Using a hair comb, the flute solo into the final part, this is super unique and really evolves the song which I love. Keep up the good work man
I really appreciate that! I’m super happy with how this arrangement turned out, but I definitely could have spent more time perfecting the actual recording. Maybe I’ll redo it at some point in the future. Regardless, your comment means a lot. Thank you!
Ooh this is so jazzy and smooth, I love your unique take! The 6/8 pulse is nice, and I love the vibe of this tune throughout. Awesome collab, the flugelhorn lead sounds great!
I didn’t grow up with the game, but it and many others paved the way for modern video games and their own music, so I have to respect it. Chrono Trigger’s soundtrack is fantastic! Thanks so much for listening!
Dude I LOVE your thumbnail 😂 This sounds amazing and so lyrical. I love the 6/8 feeling, it really gives more of a smooth dance vibe. Keep up the great work as always!
Thank you so much! I always enjoyed the fast pace of trading at a lot of jazz performances at my college. It’s such a great opportunity to let instruments and musicians bounce ideas off of one another!
The game sounded to me like an instrument called a Celes, its like a cross between a piano and a xylophone. It's a pretty rare instrument tho... I haven't looked into obtaining one either...
