I love his interpretation and voice. We need to stop comparing this singer with that singer. Can we not let a performer's acting and singing stand by themselves? This guy is fantastic!!!
I’ve been doing the Gethsemane circuit today trying to really appreciate each artist’s performance of it. The special sauce is certainly in the emotional commitment to the point of the song. The gravity of its meaning. Comparing the singers against each other isn’t fair, I agree. But comparing them against the song itself is definitely a good measuring stick for judging a performance. I’d even give extra credit to a poor singing performance, as long as the emotional commitment were there. It’s the key to the whole thing. Tho, who isn’t a bit disappointed when they miss the mark on certain milestones within the song itself too right haha Edit: what I said above is why Neely won’t ever be topped in my mind. He understood the song on a fundamental level, and committed entirely to the emotions, and it doesn’t hurt he had a range and voice that both matched and can handle the very high-skill vocal demands of this piece.

Just after 4:43 just kills me. His voice is so evocative and heartbreaking. I love this in ANY language. Fernandez is superbly expressive. Wish I could have seen this version, even though I don't know the language, the emotion is stupendous.
He feels it and sings it exceptionally! Fantastic performance! I admire the singers that have sung this song. Well done to all of them. I cannot critique such fine vocal range and work, plus emotion.
Wow, I know this song so well and heard many different people sing it and this guy does a great job!!! I don't have to understand the words, you can feel the meaning through the very depths from within....THATS A PERFORMANCE!!!!
This guy is just FANTASTIC!! He conveys the emotion better than probably anyone else I've seen on YT. He's among my Top 3 favorite male singers to do this song, along with Ian Gillan & Jeff Fenholt.
Absolutely breathtaking. I am not a fluent Spanish speaker, but the message he portrays doesn’t need a specific language in order to be understood. He is a fantastic performer with an amazing talent in storytelling and an incredible voice
many use this song to primarily show off their vocals and throw in a little emotion. He does the opposite, I see his dilemma and conflict. singing is all secondary and it is fantastic.
This guy deserves the crown of Ted Neeley. Don't get me wrong, Ted Neeley is still the best but we gotta pass the throne to Miguel now. Watching different Jesus Christ Superstar versions, I only loved Ted Neeley's version. But after watching Miguel's, this guy deserves to be the next JCS Icon!

Vi esta versión de Jesucristo SuperStar dos veces, porque quedé impresionada con la interpretación de Miquel Fernandez. He visto otras interpretaciones y para mi sin duda es el mejor, por su forma de transmitir su enfado, su dolor, la canta con una fuerza increible. No puedo para de ver este video, me conmueve, Y su voz es maravillosa, es uno de los mejores actores de musicales que existen, si no el mejor. Ojala vuelva a este tipo de genero. Es el mejor de todos!!
Brandon Recktenwald -- I DO understand that sentiment, but, oh, I just don't know if the same ... intonations .... of expressiveness in his voice would translate from Spanish to English. When he is singing the part "sad and tired," the Spanish words have such a different .... sound ... to them. And, yes, I do agree - it would be wonderful to hear him sing in English if he could keep the wonderful "swells and dips." *sigh* I can't stop listening to this!! PEACE .....

La obra de Jesucristo Superstar siempre me ha gustado y en especial Getsemaní, porque porque es una conversación tan honesta con Dios Padre. Ahora bien, esta interpretación solamente le veo un punto negro y son los aplausos del público. Siento que el público no agradece como debe al enorme talento y a la excelente interpretación de Miquel Fernández.

Impresionante. Siempre pensé que nadie me emocionaría tanto como Camilo Sesto, pero me equivocaba, Miquel es espectacular. Lástima no haberte descubierto antes para ver el musical, pero nunca es tarde. Me declaro fan incondicional!

Muy buena voz e interpretación, y sin desmerecer, cuando uno ha visto la interpretación de Camilo Sesto, ya no hay otra que la supere.. La de Camilo quedo para hacer historia, es magistralmente única.

Llevo semanas oyendo y viendo este video a diario, tres o cuatro veces, y no me canso... todavia me emociona. Qué letra, qué voz, qué interpretacion... me llega hasta lo mas profundo. Genial Miquel Fernandez, todo un descubrimiento.
Hace semanas que no puedo dejar de ver este video, y cada una de las veces un escalofrío de emoción recorre todo mi cuerpo. He visto decenas de interpretaciones de este magnífico tema, muchas de ellas maravillosas, pero sólo está me conmueve cada una de las veces. Ojalá Miquel Fernández vuelva alguna vez al teatro musical. Desde luego y sin ninguna duda para mí es un grande entre los grandes.

Hablo inglés, no entiendo español (estoy usando GOOGLE TRANSLATE para escribir esto), pero ... su voz, sus emociones, su rostro y su movimiento son tan INCREÍBLES, lo he visto una y otra vez. Cuando canta "Estoy triste y cansado", es un hormigueo. ¡GUAUU! Toda la obra está en RU-vid y la vi. !
Más allá de la opinión de cada uno, que son varias y diversas, lo concreto es que Fernández tiene un control de matices e intensidades asombroso, es virtuoso y muy asertivo. A veces distorsionada para dar énfasis y otras muy suave, dulce y profundo, que ambienta muy bien el sentido de lo cantado. Con Sesto esto no me pasa, él sólo canta e interpreta con una confusión de sensaciones. No tiene muy claro lo que está cantando. La voz de cabeza de Fernández es asombrosa, tenorazo. Inigualable.
Me he criado siempre con la versión de Camilo Sesto y me ha chocado mucho la letra de esta versión pero tengo que reconocer que esta voz es impresionante. Me ha encantado
a mi me gusta la de camilo, pero esta es mi favorita sobre todas, incluso sobre las letras originales en inglés, será quizás xq soy español, pero da igual me llega la interpretación, la letra y x supuesto la voz.

@@socorrotrejo7140 para mi Camilo esta muy sobre valorado (en esta canción) por ser Camilo Sesto. • No logra sostener los agudos. • Se desgasto la garganta debido a que la técnica que empleaba no era la correcta para este genero musical. Y se puede notar al paso de los años. • Camilo finge el sufrimiento, realmente no estaba actuando, porque no era actor. Eso no quita la increíble voz que tenía, pero para su genero.

Es algo innecesario (basta con que resulten expresivos y, sobre todo, creíbles: como si fueran parte del diálogo, no un mero adorno, como los que utiliza aquí Fernández). 2º) Sesto se desgastó la garganta porque cantó un repertorio de lo más exigente, y sin parar, durante bastantes años. Habrá qué ver cuál es el estado vocal de este Miguel Fernández cuando pasen unos años. 3º) Ser austero e interpretar cantando --sin histrionismos y exageraciones, como hace Fernández-- no significa ser menos actor.
Es un excelente actor y una voz fantástica, he visto un montón de versiones de ésta función y es la primera vez que no entiendo porque han cambiado tanto del original.
es impresionante esta version, y cuando lo vi en directo hay si te quedas sin palabras, muy emotivo, y una voz increible, la mejor version. Miquel Fernández es muyyy grande.
El mejor, sin duda, y vi a los tres, también a samuel, que me encantó. Pero el mejor ha sido Miquel, y me alegro enormemente de haber podido asistir a una de sus representaciones.
Me encanta esta versión, tanto de Miquel como de Gerónimo, aunque reconozco que Gerónimo te pone los pelos de punta. Lástima haber perdido la oportunidad de haber visto en directo a cualquiera de los dos.
Ve la versión de Steve Balsamo. Andrew Lloyd Weber lloró x esa interpretación. Luego ve la de San Vasc....hablando d la voz, la emoción y la actuación. Dame las gracias luego.

Esta versión (y otras en español) esta infravalorada por culpa del excelente trabajo de Camilo Sesto. De esta en particular se puede destacar mucho la letra, ya que es una versión distinta a la conocida y aún así transmite el sentimiento que debe de transmitir.

Justo después de 4:43 solo me mata Su voz es tan evocadora y desgarradora. Me encanta esto en CUALQUIER idioma. Fernández es extraordinariamente expresivo. Ojalá hubiera podido ver esta versión, aunque no conozco el idioma, la emoción es estupenda. Usando el traductor de Google,Espero que puedas entenderlo!
