Choice Specs Electric Tera Miraidon won Indianapolis Regionals
Rajan Bal went 15-2 to win Indianapolis Regionals, putting Miraidon on the map. Most people had Miraidon as a B-tier Restricted, but Rajan (as well as Aaron Traylor) both went deep with it on hyper offensive Tailwind teams with a double normal Farigiraf Ursaluna core that serves to counter Calyrex-Shadow by switching into Astral Barrage and hitting it hard back. Rajan went with Ogerpon-Cornerstone for a consistent Follow Me Pokemon with Sturdy that could last through Tailwind even at a disadvantage and let his Whimsicott set up a 2nd, allowing Miraidon and Bloodmoon-Ursa to clean up games. Aaron went with a Choice Scarf Ditto with Tera Ghost to copy boosted Pokemon like Terapagos or Calyrex and reverse sweep them.

All of us Miraidon mains had some permutation of the team that won Indy, but he was the only one to synthesize it all well and not run into a bad zacian or Kyogre team. Hats off to him, but I can't help but he a lil jelly because we Miraidon mains knew how stupid strong it was day one

I can understand that, many players tried to use it as a terrain setter... and completely forgot how insane his damage can be. You think Kyurem White is insane with 170 SpA ? Miraidon's SpA is higher under Electric Terrain.

I have been playing a team that was pretty close to this but made a few swaps. I kept running into this team on showdown so it had to check youtube. I've been building it since day one and didn't understand why people where talking crap about it. I learned after a while that the quark drive mons unfortunately are a bit hard to use. I'm using Miraidon, Farigiraf, Urshi rapid, torn, Incin and the last slot has been changing between Ogerpon fire and rock as well as a few other mons. Volt switch is the most used move. I've been using the tera fairy set but will definitely looking at electric with discharge. PS: Thank you for putting up the vid. I will use this rental on cart and for once I have heaps of practice playing a rental.

From looking at the video, Miraidon should have 176 HP, but has 173 instead. Maybe it is missing bottle caps on a few stats?

@@xyzl0lxyz Tera Electric Volt Switch / Discharge has more secure KOs on Flutter Mane and Incineroar and things of similar bulk. I also heard it got a OHKO on AV Tera Grass Kyogre with Draco Meteor, which was a roll but one that isn't possible if you go Timid.

In all seriousness, leading Rillaboom can at least force a Volt Switch and prevent a KO unless you have something in range of Draco turn 1. Having your own Ursaluna or other Ground types limits their ability to lock into Discharge or Electro Drift in the late game, and if you can deal with Farigiraf's ability to reverse TR with a Taunt Pokemon, this team doesn't love being in TR.

I have been saying since day one that Miraidon is a strong mon,but people are making a mistake by pairing with quark drive mons Quark garbage mons are complete bait,they do nothing for Miraidon With the proper support Miraidon wrecks havoc

When I've been running tera fairy dazzling miraidon specs I can 2 shot ting lu. Tera electric may be better though.

@@YoJoRockThaBeat That's a bit of the problem with Miraidon... the rare ground Pokémon that are good against Miraidon (Iron Threads, Ting Lu...) are not great for other match ups.

@groudonvert7286 yup. It reminds me of "Incineroar Counters" What good are they if they lose to the rest of the team? Ting Lu is attractive, but it can't stop the physical attackers from walloping it. Hell put an Araquanid in front of it, and it has to Tera. Ting Lu, imo only works if it can offer some offense in return. Otherwise it's Calyrex Ice food.
