This week we are reviewing infrared heating in our van, if you have been following our travels you will have seen we are currently experiencing some very cold temperatures in Denmark.

Looks good 👍. We’ve got a little 2 bar infared heater. The mirror heater looks a bit safer. Do you leave it on when you’re not in the van?

❤️ always off when we leave, great bit of kit, will leave the van heating on tickover tho ( elect / gas ) just to keep it warm 🙂

How much does it actually use when you turn it on? Is it always pumping out max watt or can you put it on 250W max and put it next to you? I mean where you have it on the floor it really doesn't do much good, you need to have it pointed at you so you feel the radiant heat and then you don't need to heat the whole van. That is the power of infrared heating. If you use to like that it's better to get a diesel heater for winter use.

It’s pointed towards us when we use it , and it has a temp control too ! Lovely bit of kit 👍

Hi guys. I noted it was 10.2deg in you cabin but how long did it take to reach a reasonable temperature please

Really interesting question! So they don’t heat the air, here’s a link to their website that can explain how they work far better than I can. However in our cabin when you are working at the desk or on the sofa it’s very quick warmth, you are comfortable within 5 minutes. While filming you can see on the remote 10.2 within a minute it has risen to nearly 12, although I didn’t edit that in. It’s a very different form of heating that has surprised us how effective it is. Really interested, 1 we’ve acquired a flat with no gas. 2 looking at staying on Camping Car Park sites with 6Amp hookup. The old style ones were dangerous like the ones caravaners used to heat the awning in winter with the dog in it. Good review, could be the way forward if it was say window size for the dinette area.

They really are great , and come in a lot of different sizes, the fact they can be mounted pretty much anywhere, or floor mounted is a real plus point along with the fact of how little energy they use and how they heat , there is a link in the description and the company owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, worthwhile giving them a lookup when you are ready ❤️🎄

wow surprise, at this moment the first snow is falling here, i am like 20 km from bruges, on the other side, maybe you can visit the Christmas marked in Brussels i was there and it is pretty big and beautiful ... tel the chauffeur to drive carefully and regular take a break 🙂@@redsgotravels
