Guys, I created this video with the initial intuition to use it as an audiovisual portfolio, just to show it to possible producers or customers. It was conceived in just two weeks, from the script, image collection, "narration" and subtitles. Naturally I am from Brazil, and I made this content to be accessible to my language, but without any pretense. I have already been notified of (serious) spelling errors, but there are some changes of letters that ended up being typed in the narrator, and consecutively in the subtitles and lettering (because they were copied and pasted), due to the short production time, and I having been the only person involved in the project, it turned out that I didn't have time to do a more thorough review, and in fact it didn't worry me much, because I was sure that the video would have no more than 200 views. I no longer have the project file, so it's no longer worth it to fix it, but I believe that the essence remains present. Long live this wonderful band! (again I'm sorry) Good entertainment to all!
fuck the haters, I loved this! Even if it wasn't intentional, the way it ended up looking and feeling is punk as fuck. so yeah, long live misfits (danzig era only for me tho)!
Oh it’s very good. I already know a lot of this information but there is still a lot I don’t know. It’s very interesting and I think you did a great job!!
Glenn with that voice of his could have made any other safe hard rock band and gotten fame and success. Instead he chose punk rock and found his own success. A true dude
i have an old photo of my dad when he was 16 year's old and that was in 1957 and he had his hair just like the misfits with that long piece going straight down their faces. I never saw this photo until my father passed away in his accident and I would had loved to have seen his expression and the story behind it but that story is lost forever and will never be spoken about ever again.
Nice info about Misfits! I saw Glen Danzig in concert years ago with Type O Negative and it was such a great show! I love the misfits and danzig, back in high school I had the Danzig skull logo airbrushed on the back of my leather jacket. My nephew's band got to open up for the Misfits and got all their autographs, very cool!!!!
Danzig, Type O Negative, and Godflesh!! I was too young...but remember reading about it in a magazine (Metal Maniacs interview with Godflesh -early 1996).
Um yeah he did. Metallica single handedly brought the misfits back from the dead. Danzig made a fortune just off of merchandise thanks to Metallica wearing Crimson Ghost shirts
@@SamuelMartinez-gz8dv ha ha ha. Were you around when The Misfits broke up? I was. They were dead and gone. Metallica started sporting their shirts around 84 85. Danzig tried to keep it alive with Samhain but meh... The last awful tour The Misfits did cost three hundred bucks for tickets . So Yeah sell outs. I would sell out in heartbeat btw.
This band will be 50 years old in 5-6 years. Manny doesn't have a wiki page so I have no idea how old he is but he reminds me some WWII vets when I was younger. its weird to see how old people have got in the past decade. Punk was ending when I became a Teen at 13 but Post punk or Gothic was a thing along with Thrasher Metal bands of the late 70s and early mid 80s. I was lucky to have been old enough just to experience it. it kind of depresses me to see how old people are getting.
I get that. Time is messed up. The farther things get away in time, well... The further away they seem, almost like they didn't happen, when generations keep being created that don't understand the old days. So the older you get, the more alienated you feel from the world around you as less and less people understand your world because the time you grew up in is just stories to them from long ago.
The Misfits is one of the best band names of all time. Favourite songs: Bullet, London Dungeon and We Are 138. Favourite albums: Legacy Of Brutality, Walk Among Us and Compilation 1.
There’s always a possibility that he was a crack head and worked around the clock on it, in which case would have taken him around 8 days only. Not too bad actually 😂
@@bigfoot6223 Misfits have been around since 78 , minor threat since 80 ,completely different styles of music, indeed minor threat was a staple in hardcore, but Misfits borrowed from nobody.
@@daverawcliffe3212 Minor Threat started an entire sub-genre, that still exits today. When the band formed has nothing to do with anything, really. For example, I would say that NoFX influenced more bands than the Misfits did, even though the Misfits influenced NoFX. Would skate punk exist without NoFX? But if when a band formed is meaningful then the Ramones influenced everyone., and are kings. Or were. I could probably throw Black Flag in the mix too.
@Truth Seeker If I were rich I would't be wasting my time here. I agree with Bruce Dickinson: "Punk Is Rubbish, Punk Musicians Can't Play Their Fucking Instruments" You're a fucking Doyle fan. I really HATE vegans.
your question is one of the most poignant comments ever on a youtube video. I Totally agree! made by a broken app and somehow the broken tone, bad voice over, terrible mixing and unrelated shots repeated over and over fits the story of the Misfits struggle perfectly... actually means this is one of the greatest rock documentaries of all time... along with heavy metal parking lot. love it.
@@markfarrell3671 I've heard their other stuff and just don't like it. It's almost like individual people have different taste and likes huh? Werid, I know.
Cliff Burton’s favorite band(as well as anything Glen Danzig put out). Cliff Burton, I feel, helped catapult The Misfits to more exposure through his Crimson Ghost Tattoo and always wearing the shirt as well. 🤘🏽
Not sure how true that is...I know for a fact they were great friends with Black Flag, Necros, ect... They DID create their own niche though. They created Horror Punk without a doubt. Of course Black Sabbath, Cooper, and also Screaming Jay Hawkins, Arthur Brown, Roky Erkison....all had a hand in the horror rock subgenre.
I love all their music but the two that stick out the most for me is Eagles Dare, and Last Cares. The best art cover is Hybrid Moments i have an original first print poster in mint condition i wish i could own them all.
I dressed as a ghoul attempting to drive in the rain and my car broke down near a prison lol so I was sitting in the rain in the car, a cop drove by & didn’t attempt to help a stranded ghoul. I then towed the car home & borrowed a car to head to NYC. This was my ghouls night out.
Imo The Misfits original line up with Danzig was the absolute best. My friend gave me a blank 90 minute tape which had all their music. My mind was blown! This was in about 1993 or so. I listened to everything. I was really into the Beatles at the time and current music like Green Day who were just getting started up, Sex Pistols, rap of course. And I was really getting into punk rock at this time and the Misfits were really truly to this day the greatest Punk rock band. With their whole style. It was Halloween themed all their songs were very catchy and simple but great. Also Nirvana was at the top of their game. I mean I listened to anything that was good. Good imo. I hadn't yet heard Johnny Cash but I really got into him as well. Nine Inch Nails. We went to Woodstock 94' it was insane! We found out they tore the fences down the first day. My friend called and told me he was watching MTV and it was now free. We were all around 15-16 or so and us four went and just had a blast!
Need info about DANZIG? Look up THRASHER magazine on March of 1986. He's the front cover, the main article & you'll know everything! Each concert, record & even more!!
Who would of thought that would happen. I grew up in the ‘80’s and I remember having a backpack full of tapes for my Sony Walkman that should have been glued in my hand. Misfits, Dead Kenedys, The Casaulties, the Cramps,
I saw the Misfits with Marky Ramone And The Intruders at Tower Theater in OKC in 1997 or whenever that was. I was used to the underground thrash/punk shows around at that time, and that show was big, none of the people were there that went to the thrash shows, and they were all lined up to get autographs from Jerry Only at the end of the show. It was very odd. I went on to start bands of my own that kickstarted a more thriving and larger thrash/power-violence/punk scene around OKC with a departure from the traditional junk like The Misfits, Ramones and all that old crap. But i find myself looking back at this old stuff and appreciating it more for what it was, and owe a lot of what we were doing over the years to it. The old Misfits songs really were great.
Early days was ruff, fight every f block to concerts,15 and kicking ass was the game then we become lawyers ,bikers and realtors Im still FRIENDS with most of the boys 1981-2021
I was on a dark part of the road with no lighting in the middle of the night once , it was about 2am and raining and I just thought I caught a dark figure on the side of the road. I thought I'd go back and check and sure enough it was a girl in her mid to late teens wanting to get to the next town about 30km away. She jumped in and within about 20 seconds I realized she had crapped her pants! I wasn't going to kick her out even though she was asking to use my phone etc but I can tell you I was that speeding driver that night. It was the fastest 30km she would have ever traveled. She then wanted me to drop her off at a specific address but I dropped her at the service station and got out of there. Don't be that chick! Lol
Yeah it’s awesome. Im a hardcore misfits fan with Danzig, but I cant get into the misfits without him. It’s not terrible per se, it’s just not my cup of tea.
Check out the No Dogs In Space podcast. They do an excellent two epidode history of the misfits. Marcus does some excellent research and great presentation
Need info about DANZIG? Look up THRASHER Magazine, March of 1986. You'll learn about everything he recorded, his concerts, his changes & all you need to know about his first decade!!
Good job. Even though it's littered with minor inaccuracies, it's still good. But man I can't believe the misfits don't have 1 full length documentary with all the band members involvement. I mean everybody else does. With the misfits being as famous as they are it's just shocking that they can't even agree to have a documentary. Or footage of their reunion shows. I get Danzig wants to have a mystic vibe about the band but still.
