Miss Saigon Kimparison - This Money's Yours 

Lea's version in the 1989 rehearsal is the best. You can see it on the documentary "The making of Miss Saigon". I also think all the songs she sang in the rehearsals are the best versions, including her solo of "Movie In My Mind" which is normally sang as a duet with Gigi. And her version of Sun and Moon with Schoenberg at the piano became a classic.

FUN FACT: Did you know that Annette Cauld is Eva Noblezada's Aunt? She was in the Ensemble and understudied Kim in the original Broadway cast and then later took over as Kim fulltime when Lea Salonga left. She later went on to appear as Celina the dance teacher on Sesame Street. It runs in the family. So cool to see Annette now be a proud aunt to Eva who wowed West End audiences in the recent 25th Anniversary revival (that was filmed) and now about to be in the same Theatre where she was.

Lea is not only the original manila cast. She is the original Kim.

Lea Salonga, always. Both she and Isay left an indelible mark in my brain whenever the words "Miss Saigon" are mentioned. But I'm so glad to hear Caselyn Francisco's voice. I knew that she really wanted to be part of the musical and was happy for her when she joined the German production. This is the first time I heard her sing in German. Thank you! :)

What made Lea Salonga the best is she emotes the song well. Not just singing well then putting emotions..

When Lea sings, you will hear the words clearly. The others tend to garble the words, especially when the notes are hard to hit. Good enunciation is needed as well as hitting the notes with expression.

@Betsy Haze , correction for Ms. Lea Salonga (11:12). She is the original Kim at the 1989 London cast (not original Manila cast 2000) who subsequently won Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical at the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards for the same role. :)

Saw Jennifer Paz performance in 1995, also met Deede Lyn Magno at a local bookstore promotional performance for the Play. Then around 96 met Monique Wilson in concert at local university. Of course the love of my life is Lea Salonga lol

My first time hearing Monique Wilson and Jamie Rivera's version. Wow. Joanna Ampil's and Tanya Manalang's version, wow. But of course, it'll always be Lea Salonga. I wish you included the one from the original production on West End but thank you for sharing!

FYI..Lea salong is maybe 29 or 30 years old already in this video comparison while the others are still 18 or 19 or early 20s... so there must be a difference in vocal power as you age... and imagine a 30 year old woman playing a 17 year old girl is maybe a bit hard yet Lea nailed it :-)

Eva's vocals are just INSANE. Unparalleled. Even by Lea. Their voices are just so different. Lea's voice is gorgeous, but it doesn't have anywhere near the amount of raw power that Eva's has.

You didnt mention nor show Lea salonga as the very first Kim (in the original/ first Miss Saigon in 1989 West End and 1991 Broadway) but instead you showed her performance in 2000 in Manila.

Monique Wilson is the WEAKEST link among them all. Was surprised I thought she was good knowing she came from Repertory Phil like Lea. No wonder after her stint at West End, she’s nowhere to be found and faded into oblivion.
