God resists those that are prideful When I was an atheist I was just like this kid Sheesh I really was a fool. So blessed the Heavenly Father pulled me out of that crap.
I have the same testimony, and I could absolutely laugh when I think how surreal it is to be on the other side of this argument. Thankful for His grace every day!
I was on your side for almost 30 years. Then I really read the book. I hate to tell you this, but there's no all-loving, all powerful, or all-knowing god described on the Bible. Instead, you have a god that endorses slavery, rape, sexism, discrimination based on how someone was born, animal sacrifice to satiate his blood lust, and intentionally murders innocent children and babies for no good reason. Then, even though he supposedly knows everything and can do anything, decides he needs to sacrifice himself to himself so people can get away with breaking all of his commands and laws as long as they simply believe he exists. He apparently rewards blind belief in a book that has been shown to be false by archeology, zoology, biology, geology, paleontology, astronomy, physics, linguistics, philology, dendrochronology, bacteriology, entomology, etc. over treating others well. The Bible fully admits that He ignored almost everyone in the world except his chosen people for thousands of years. Does that seem like a very just being that wants equality? That alone should tell you it's all crap made up by simply one set of people. If you really examine the book and look at the information scientists have discovered from the writings and archeological finds, it becomes clear that the Israelites were just an offshoot of the Canaanites. All of the "false gods" were canaanite gods. Even the book used the same name for god as a canaanite god. There are many reasons why so many biblical scholars have concluded they were just canaanites. It also explains why there are still some references to God talking as if there are more than one deity present at times like in some passages in Genesis. Honestly, I get the reason you all want to believe in something. Never dying sounds pretty cool. But do you really want to believe it's the biblical god? Do you really not have a problem with killing the innocent, slavery, sexism, genocide, etc.? Do you honestly find those things to be moral? Do you honestly think it makes any sense for murderers and rapists to go to heaven as long as they believe, but people who have absolutely zero reason to believe because they were already indoctrinated into another religion or never even heard of Christ are going to hell for eternity even if they're truly good people? What about those of us that still live good lives, but don't ignore all the things that shoe it to be nonsense? I should spend eternity in hell for simply being unable to believe something that I know can't be true is true?

Lol, I find it funny how it's almost a badge of honor for athiests to be able to paint themself into believing nothing to avoid having to defend something. My favorite: I think it's entirely possible that God doesnt exist and it's more likely that the universe just happened. That's quite the claim, and they also dont get that the exact opposite view is most Christian's view. We think it's more likely than not that God created the universe. Both claims are massive in thier implications and yet athiests hold steadfast to the delusion that they dont beleive in anything and are just unconvinced of gods existence.
@@scottwall8419 God is inevitable, there is no version of existence that can be described without God. As Frank defined it, God is beyond the universe. The Atheist first has to say "there is nothing beyond the universe" and then they have to say "the singularity before the Big Bang isn't beyond the universe." These kooks believe in simulations and multi-verses and yet God is off-limits? The only way they can deny the existence of God is to misdefine him as, like Turek noted, "a finite being constrained by time, space, and matter."

@@Kevin-nr9hp thanks for the reply. I was merely pointing out the fact that the young man raised questions that Frank turek ducked dodged and avoided rather than answer. Frank makes CLAIMS that cannot be backed up with evidence. To some that makes him appear foolish 👍
Can’t believe he thought that Frank wouldn’t have read Dawkins’ book. But then, he’d never read any of Frank’s books, so he was extraordinarily unprepared for everything that unfolded in that video! A bit embarrassing really…..🤭
Omg (pardon the pun)! Why can’t you religious people grasp this concept. You assert that there is a god or Bigfoot or the Easter Bunny or whatever.... We (atheists, abigfootists, aeasterbunnyists) say “we don’t believe you. THATS IT! FULL STOP. Simple. I can’t imagine anything more conceptually simple wth? Btw I respect you all. I get it. So I don’t judge you or look down on any of you. However, this is incredibly frustrating. You may say that some atheists claim there is no god. Ok, fine. Some Christians do not accept the resurrection of Christ or his alleged divinity but in general we rightfully assume as much. Please, Christians, please default to assuming that any given atheist is taking a stance on non-belief; not one of an inverse stance of the religious...ie; “something exists.” Again, we say “we don’t believe you.” NOT: we believe or claim the opposite of what you claim.
I wonder if Frank has debated Richy before. It would have been great if he had said. Yeah Richard, yeah I kicked his butt in a formal debate a couple months ago. :)

@@BenDover91187 Hey Mr. Dover, thanks for the reply, it was nice to re-watch the video again after 3 years! Your question: "how you guys get to the point of praying like that for this kid?" The answer: As believers we are called to be like Christ (1 John 2:6, Galatians 2: 20). Jesus died for His enemies (Romans 5: 10), the Bible says... “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven... -Matthew 5: 43-45 God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5: 8 The only way, that you or I are going to love our enemies and pray for them, is when our hearts and minds conform to the will of God. The Bible says we have not because we ask not (James 4: 2-3). If you desire to have a heart like Jesus Christ, then ask our Father in heaven. That is the truth, I don't know how or when or if He will give you what you ask for, but it is good to ask God to make us more like His Son. We are also called to love one another, I'll pray for your heart to be more like Christ, I appreciate any prayers also. God bless you, brother.
@Adam Sanchez Brother Adam, thank you for your response and your prayers. I will pray to have a heart like our lord. I'm still too much like the "sons of thunder" which is why I can relate to James and John. I know I still have a lot of maturing to do in my faith and it's refreshing to have brothers and sisters in the faith to help me grow so thank you so much!
@@BenDover91187 Hey Ben, that's great to hear. Growing closer to the Lord is the most important thing anyone can do. It takes effort on our part to faithfully study the Bible, and also be aware of our own desire to sin, weather that be anger, lust, pride, laziness, ect... These are sins that are common to all people. We should all be like Job and shun evil (Job 1:1). The Bible says our battle is not of flesh and blood but but against the dark forces of evil, in the spiritual realms (Ephesians 6:12). When we are aware of that, we can ask God to help us to shun evil and not sin against Him. The best way to do that is to read the Bible faithfully. I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You. -Psalm 119:11 Take care brother!

Ganta S you might be surprised to learn that statistically speaking religiosity is found more oftenin the ranks of highly trained scientists than in the general population. It does seem that the more one looks into the fabric of the universe through the scientific method, the greater their belief in a divine creator.
It's a common thread among "instigator" types. It's basically "I have nothing of spiritual value, let me try and destroy whatever it is you hold of some value, so in the end, we are both left with no soul" The whole "game" is just a series of questions that incite "skepticism". But they NEVER offer a viable alternative, and they rarely ever allow themselves to be in the spotlight of scrutiny. Deep down, these people are beyond weak. Not all Atheists mind you, some of very charming and kind Men & Women....but these "bottom feeder, still in college, coexist bumper sticker" types ya gotta watch out for lol
And aren't You criticizing and condeming religious people now? You can make exactly the same objections one way or another, but it still doesn't prove or disprove God. Just like his paradox theory. He hasn't realise he is in the paradiox himself, as he refused to read the book of Frank Turek and see the arguemts from his perspective. If christians refused to read or hear the arguments of respected scientists such as Steven Hopkings, what would You think of them? Don't You think it would be narrow minded. So if somebody wants to really answer the question whether there is or is no God. You have to put all the emotions and hurt feelings aside and be open minded enough to actually look and exam the evidence
@@deangoff9596 here is one of the definitions of a paradox "a situation, person, or thing that combines contradictory features or qualities." So in this case a table of people each representing their own religion while each thinking their religion is correct is a paradox because they can't all be right which means most are wrong if not all making them combine their justification with self contradicting statements creating a paradox. Not every paradox is an infinitely recurring problem that is contracting its self. You may want someone to help remove your extra chromosomes
Nick so in other words, every aspect of life and thought is a paradox, which would make your point moot. I take it that you are the person who was rude enough to miss the entire lecture but then come in like a dumbass and assume you know more than the person who gave the lecture? That is truly paradoxical. Just because 10 people have a different perspective on something does not make it a paradox, it’s called life. Which if you are the person seen in the video, once mommy and daddy and the Federal Government stop supporting your narcissistic goal of mirroring whatever might be vomited out out the mouths of an endless cycle of professors, you might find out what life truly is. People are allowed to have different opinions and tell each other they are wrong and there is nothing paradoxical about it in the real world.
He wasn't seeking truth or answers. He just wanted to be argumentative and promote his agenda. That is the dishonesty of atheism. They are very close-minded at the same time calling other ppl closed-minded. They fail to see their own hypocrisy.

This reminds me of high school, when there was this one kid that always came in late because he was hanging out with his friends before class. This guy would ask questions that we already discussed and became frustrated because he didn’t fully understand everything and blamed it on the teacher. He wanted to learn, but wanted to do his own things first. I guess he just wanted himself to be the priority in the time being and not his well being for the future.
That wasn't his point, his was saying that if only one belief can be right, and everyone in a room holds a different belief whilst equally believing that their belief is the right one, then by having one be wrong (to which one of the believers are shocked as their faith was unwavering) the others are likely to be wrong aswell since they all share the same quality of being believed with certainty. It's like having someone say "I flipped a coin, did I get heads or tails", one person says heads, the other says tails, then the first person says "actually I got a 4 on the dice I rolled", the initial claim has no reason to believed once evidence against the first choice (heads) has been provided, yet for some reason people still hold steadfast in their belief that "it must have been tails!"
He just phrased it badly, ignore the paradox part all together that's seems just to be a lack of knowledge but he wasn't excluding himself from the analogy because he believed he wasn't wrong he was excluding himself on terms that atheism isn't a belief rather a lack thereof.
@@IvanIvanov-vy7pt And in the lotus sutra, the blue cliff records, the doctrine of the mean etc etc. The bible does seem to borrow from a lot of other earlier sources.

ahhh, to be 25 again and know everything... Little do these poor kids know that it's science that's actually providing some of the most extraordinary evidence that the Bible is correct.

Wow, can you get any more motivation to lie about yourself than that? _The Bible is full of errors and doesn't present the Christian dogma the way Christians understand it._ Says whom? Mohammed, again? See, everything about Islam hangs on one man's word, while the Bible has five corroborating accounts in the New Testament alone, AND this is by people who were contemporaries of Christ, were eyewitnesses. But the Qur'an is written more than 600 years after Christ. So Mohammed has ZERO standing to claim that the historical account of THOSE WHO WERE THERE, are wrong, were in error, whatever. ZERO. So, your claiming that the Bible is full of errors is an error and doesn't present the true Christianity and has ZERO merit.

Let's stop this. Whether you believe the biblical god exists or not is irrelevant for you here on Earth. Religious people will tell you the bible god doesn't intervene or protect innocent babies from being starved, molested or killed because it's all on us to figure it out and make the world better for each other. So with that said, the biblical god existing is effectively irrelevant. Now maybe if "he" had to live as a human with us until the world becomes "a better place" "he'd" be more inclined to intervene and help. But right now he's just a guy in the sky judging, demanding worship and watching for the "big day" for thousands of years now according to religious people's beliefs.
