Did this river in 1986. Started with 4 canoes and finished with 2. Memorable.

Great video and so impressed you portaged 9 km. Cannot get my head around a 9km portage with gear and canoes and paddles and mosquitos. That explains the scotch anyway.

Many moons ago I used to drop off canoeists (2 at a time) with their canoe and supplies for some river trips west of Wawa/northern Shores of Superior using a DHC-2 Beaver seaplane....they always looked tired but happy by the time I returned to an agreed meeting spot downriver to pick them up after a week or so....

A pleasure to run across your trip. We launched at Mattice in 2018 about a week after you and water levels were similar. We were camped on a sand spit at the base of Stone Rapids on the 31st when the storm hit. Our guess was the the leading edge winds were 50 kph or more. We had to hang onto a couple of tents for a as we hadn't used big enough rocks to hold them down to the sand. We were running a bit short on time so we took out at Moose crossing and were pleased that we did. We met a group on the train who claimed to have waded for 10 km below there. The ice damage well above the Moose was impressive. Two of us had been down the lower 18 years before in September 2000 and there was nothing like that then. Even though the water levels were similar per Environment Canada's gauge the gravel on the river bed was much less and easier to paddle through then in 2018.

Thanks for watching. Good call on taking out at Moose crossing. The 10km past the bridge was tough and I think we just snuck through!

Absolutely loved this video! Always inspired by large journeys like this. I was wondering do you guys have a packing list anywhere for a trip of this scale that your would consider releasing

Hi there. We did the trip in 12 days. It could be done in 10 days but we were not in a rush. The biggest challenge was low water levels and navigating shallow sections. Several groups behind us had to take out at moose river crossing due to low levels. Suggest going earlier in July and keep tabs on levels.

What time of season was this trip?! Late summer?

We started the 3rd week of July. I recommend going earlier in the summer and keeping an eye on water levels.

There's something about the RU-vid music creator's use that for me ruins the video. I'd rather hear the water rushing by or the breeze of the wind across the microphone vs the music.

was it buggy?

Thanks for watching. It was late July and yes it was very buggy in the evening. Some of the worst I’ve seen for mosquitos. As we got closer to Moosonee we camped on beaches and in the open and bugs were not as bad.

Enjoyed your video content but did not appreciate the bad language from some of your party just not neccesary.
