They must have beefed this up since then cause my 4th train had siege tank and Goliaths and marauders with it. I used the high ground to finally get through it. I failed to make a second factory earlier on and should have made marauders. But I got through.

Hello! Found a save Game, and I Won with the 2 fast Vehicles from on start, 3 Bunkers and 12 Marines protecting Base with the 3 Teams of Soldiers that I had bought from the Armory, or Cantina. Pick up 3 or 4 cache minerals only. Just saying there's other ways to win. Thanks (I like to see how a Genius handles situations too. )
Ok with belshir, wait until after the first prtoss attack to cap the first alter. I used a bio ball MMM to do it. be really careful of hightemps, when u get the 7th terrazine, hold on to it at ur base and then go grab the toss relics. Ignore it when the seal off alters on the right side of the map, use maruaders to snipe colossi. It took me like 4 trys to succeed
Thanks again Psy. I did not even have stim upgrades for this mission, let alone siege tanks. Your walk through made it happen. I was building too many marines. I could not micro heal my diamondbacks like you, but I got all 8 trains.
Well, I'm back. Date: October 2019. Thanks for amazing find, Video! Found 3 Bone samples once and didn't know where? And found 4 Diamond backs and only knew where 3 were at. Almost a Month since I got a glimpse of your Video, searched and searched, destroyed every Base in separate Missions and really couldn't find but 3 Dia Backs and passed those Bone samples many times not knowing what it was. Eh, I went to Hard for a few Missions, and you said problems with this Mission ain't the word! I got all the Lab Upgrades and came back to GT-Robbery on Easy and still couldn't find the goods! I can't wait for the last mission. I've been held up by the last mission "All In" for about 1 week, Kerrigan is so damn strong. Can't wait for to see how you completed it. :)

I went mass banshee for this with 1 set of vikings for anti air support. Cleaned out the map with time to spare. The key is to instantly build a starport with a tech reactor and start banshee spaming as early as possible. The 2 banshee's will get there in time to wreck the first train. What a difference it made not having to deal heavy harrassment all the time and have a mobile force wrecking trains. Each barracks or factory I took out made it that much easier.
Just a heads up to players who can afford to spare the APM, at 3:40, as Zai moves up the ramp, there is an enemy base to your left on the higher ground above the ramp. It's easy to level it on lower difficulties (I haven't tried it on Brutal), but if you can kill it without losing much on Brutal, you can send your CC and SCVs to mine there. Also, afaik, the computer never sends any units to attack you there. (this is my experience from a few playthroughs, so this may or may not work for you)
FINAL NOTE: (yeah I have a bad memory for details T_T) the reason I mention this even though Zai noted there was an enemy base there is because going there early in the mission (on the lower difficulties) made it very easy for me to level the base while suffering minimal/zero losses.
Funny thing it says in the end it took 20 minutes while the video itself is 16:36 :P Either have nice editing cause I didn't notice any speed ups or something's wrong with the timer. Nice video all in all =) Keep up the good job.
the trouble is getting to critical mass early on so you dont waste money replacing every time. i had to let 1 train pass to build up enough, and the last train got so close, that its wreckage was exploding passed the finish line.
Guides for those already exist, but I'll sum it up for you. Press space really fast-you shoot the fastest pressing it fast go for side rockets-drones-bombs Once you get 2 drones just go for bombs use them as much as you need to avoid being hit, it gives you god mode. And make sure you blow the crap out of every enemies you can, and don't stand still. If you have any "lag" turn your graphics down to crap. And its gana take more then 1 try.
if you do the refuge missions and get vikings, you can use them to scout targets for the laser drill artifact mission which gets you siege tanks, then use the siege tanks on this mission to wreck the trains
I'm one of those people that never gives a shit about the campaign, but this guy is hilarious enough to keep me watching (even though I could give a crap less about actually doing the missions haha). Does anyone know which one of them is older, or these bros twins? They should do a 2v2 and have a double cast where they exclusively do super cheesy/all-in type stuff, then provide awesome commentary to go along with... Ahh would be so
There is a Diamondback on the same plateau where Zai grabs his first diamondback, its just not highlighted. up and to the right in the corner of the plateau
Havent done this mission on brutal yet but i generally get the tank mission done first, since they help soo much in this mission (that and the merc tanks as well), Just get a factory and barrack next to each rail line and use tanks+bunkers to take em out.
If you put some siege tanks on the high ground you can kill the mauraders really easy + thier medics stay and heals when someone's damaged which makes it really easy to kill them
@sitrilko I didnt manage to use them alot either, aside from the dig mission when I got the achievement "kill their bases" (whatever it's called). You dont need them when you bunker in and use the laser to defend ofc, but the diamondbacks are better than tanks for a straight up ground army push :)

I did this mission later on. It's a piece of piss with cloaked banshee's + 1 set of of hell's angels to deal with the raven's. I killed every single one of their buildings before the 7th train out of 8. Just star building a starport within the first 5 seconds of the game. Gather resources with your marines to fund the first 2-4 banshees. Get that auto gas ASAP as well. from there keep getting scv's to fund your economy and always make sure to have banshees qued up. in between train's hunt for factories and barrackses to shut down their reinforcements.
Zai ,please, I like the concept of Diamondbacks VERY much, could you please try to use them efficiently in later missions? I just couldnt find a use for them on either Normal of Hard so far. People, please Thumbs up if you wish to see more Diamondbacks, like me.
if you mass siege tanks with the maelstrom rounds upgrade, you just siege them in front of the train, and the splash damage kills all the escorts, along with the train. when the marauder squads came, you siege them in the squad's path, and gg marauders
i beat this mission with medic - marauder for guards and diamondbacks to catch the train. It was easy considering Marauders doing so much damage to the train, then kill the guards, then try to hit more the train...easy easy
@judaiyugisanhi Naturally if beating a different mission first helps you beat this one, feel free. I'm just doing the quickest way I know to get the Protoss missions so that I can get all the yummy research points from those 4 missions.
Forgot to note on my previous comment that I'd advise moving there AFTER you mine out your main, since I think there's less geysers there (not 100% sure).
YAAA..i beat .it..i missed the OBVIOUS thing. more than one factory=MUCH better chance of massing db's. duh ( facepalm using shovel). thanks for the vid again psy

Wait-zerg do have bones!? They were described as insectlike, with exoskeletons etc, i guess there are many exceptions because of the many assimilated races in there...
Are you fucking kidding me?! This is the only mission I couldn't beat on brutal "the regular way", I had to unlock siege tanks first. When I tried mmm ravens massacred me and after I ran out of resources I didn't have enough firepower to destroy trains. When I went for diamondbacks those marauders steamrolled me. I had absolutely no idea what to do (except to micro perfectly which I can't).
