Let her wear what she wants without criticism. Seriously, the world needs LESS of those kinds of nit-picky, mean-spirited, degrading, and void of human kindness put-downs. It does nothing other than shit on someone, and yet looking at the thumbs up, you see why people do it. Society rewards the bully. People like cruelty and belittlement, except when it's done to them. I feel like people hate Tom Cruise as a person but love his movies. He's undeniably a weirdo, but, hes' also a fucking movie star. The guy brings it every time, Edge of Tomorrow might have been the coolest action movie of last year and I loved him in it.

It took me a while to learn to like part 3, mainly because it was more action oriented than espionage like the 1st one. Once you get over that and accept the "new normal" of the MI franchise, then they are great action movies. This is my order of favoritism from best to worst: Part 1 Part 5 Part 3 Part 4 Part 2

Audiences really didn't go to see Edge of Tomorrow ?! Yes they did : $370m worldwide, $100m domestic, in 2014, it was the biggest Cruise movie he did in 3 years since Ghost Protocol. Audiences paid to see that movie.

I haven't seen the film yet (though I want to ASAP), but why would I be pissed because someone has a difference of opinion? My favorite critics aren't necessarily the ones that I happen to agree with the most; they're the ones who are the most challenging, and get me to look at art and culture in ways that maybe I hadn't before. I disagree with Amy Nicholson on many films (like Goodfellas, for example), but she's honestly one of the best writers I've ever read.

I totally want to see more Les Grossman! I think Cruise probably is the biggest movie star alive and if it weren't for the couch and Scientology stuff more people would admit that. He's taking on all these action / sci fi roles and I think its not resonating with audiences as much because he can do it better than 95% of leading actors with one arm tied behind his back. As dedicated as he is it really is too easy for him to keep on saving the world. But with roles like A Few Good Men, Magnolia, and Tropic Thunder he is doing something else and challenging himself more.

well I usually like amy but my god I will now question her opinions. Rouge Nation is my favorite MI next to the first. It is FAR better than 3 and better than 4. That opera house scene was phenomenal and I couldn't believe how well the film was directed. will be keeping an eye on this director now. The female protagonist was also amazing,whoever she is, we'll see more of her. Only weakness is, I agree, it's a bit too long and exhausting near the end. Villain a little weak but outside of that an absolute 8/10 and must see. and yes 92% certified on RT so Amy is not only in the minority but also plain wrong

The villain in Ghost Protocol was the former Swedish game theory guru who was bent on nuclear war. He was a good villain, but I thought his character's motives were a little thin. Ghost Protocol is still my favorite of the series though.

The reason I find this movie the best is because it had some of the best action. Extremely likable characters. And it had TONS of mind games stuff instead of pure action. I don't believe you can say the mind games aspect was used as much in the other movies beside the first one.

Great point about Tom Cruise, Amy! I've been wondering when he's going to do some dramas again. And his movies has been doing pretty well lately, maybe not Avengers numbers, but people still want to pay. I think it's time he gets out of the blockbuster mode and flex the acting muscles. He can do anything he wants, to be honest.

No, I know all about it. All about the volcanoes, and the soul-catchers, and the DC-8-looking spaceships. If Scientology had been around for 2000 years, and it was one of the 3 most popular religions in the world, and there were multiple scientology churches in every town in America, and suddenly some celebrities started subscribing to a religion about an omnipotent being in the clouds who magically made a woman pregnant with a guy who could walk on water and turn water into wine and that same omnipotent being created the whole Earth in seven days, then we'd think it would sound pretty weird.

the best word to describe MI3 is forgettable. I've seen it twice. once a few years back and second time a month ago. I still can't recall anything outside of hoffman and one action scene. it's so by the numbers, generic, and cliche but in no way a bad film. To say it's better than MI5 is laughable having just seen it

This movie was amazing. So amazing I saw it twice, tom cruise has a sleek attitude towards this and I think the line up with jeremy renner, ving rhames & simon pegg was fit together so well. I said it was boring when I saw the trailer, I was so suprised I decided to see it again. It was very, very, very action packed and most of it was mild violence but some was actual violence. For a 12a it was very good. Amazing quality, actors, setup and more... 9.5/10

My problem with Cruise is that he seems incapable of making a sci-fi movie without ruining the ending. Hero's journey. Sacrifice ending. Followed by second inexplicable happy ending. Minority report is arguable, but War of the Worlds' ending is inexplicably awful. The pattern has become so predictable by the time he does Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow that you can either stop watching after ending # 1 and enjoy a good movie or stay for the credits and have that good movie ruined by a tacked on unnecessary happy ending.

I loved this movie and I think it's the best of the Mission Impossibles. It takes the best parts of the best movies and even some Daniel Craig James Bond. It's fucking awesome and you should go see it.

Amy(chick in the middle) Score of 6??? You would rather see Tom Cruise put out more movies like Magnolia? This is a action movie review. Not a Thriller/Drama type movie. It is fine Amy didn't like the movie (even though she said she did then said it was "ok" in mid review changing her mind. I think Amy doesn't like action movies because went from MI 5 to Magbolias??? Amy do everyone a favor, even your colleagues and review movies in genres that your actually familiar with. This way you wont waste the viewers time. Your using up your cohorts oxygen with a review a 10 yr old could give...and give more evidence about your rating. 6???????? You must have watched Barb Wire again with your favorite actress who is very talented...pamela anderson. My rating a 9.1. It was the second best movie I have seen this year behind Mad Max: fury road.

Clinton Hummer She didn't change her mind mid-review; she said it was "very good," which she modified to "good." Her basic argument throughout (and in her print review, which I have a sneaking suspicion that you haven't read) is that it's a good, solid piece of entertainment, but not a masterpiece; she's right, on both counts. Also, get real: Amy's review is not one that a ten-year old could give. Personally, I love some of the Mission: Impossible films AND stuff like Magnolia and Eyes Wide Shut; the former films are a lot of fun, but the latter films are just better. Your last point is a good one, though. Mad Max: Fury Road is, indeed, a masterpiece. On that, you, I, AND Amy are in 100% agreement.

Clinton Hummer That's what pisses me off sometimes when i read critics about movies. When you review a movie as a confirmed critic you should be able to let your taste of the genre aside and judge a movie for what it is, what its aim, the execution, the plot, the cinematography and other stuff. Sometimes critics (talking in general here) walk to an action movie with the expectation to see a Godfather level plot, that's nut!! And Tom Cruise found his jam in action movies and seems to have fun (he's making IM6 and planning to do a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow) may be instead of wanting him to switch back to mangolia like genre we should thank him for being dedicated to his work and fans and doing justice to the action genre.

I love how she says M:I-3 is the best one and Alonso is just like OK. end of conversation, agree to disagree. M:I-2 was just awful and every one since has been utterly forgettable. Fun action-y popcorn that you walk away and forget 5 minutes later. There has not been a good mission impossible plot since the first one, and I'm struggling to even remember any of action set-pieces from any of them.

I don't think anyone has a problem with Tom Cruise the actor. They have a problem with the man, mainly because he's a Scientologist. I feel that now that Scientology has basically been exposed for the whole world to see, Cruise causes less damage. So I mind his kooky beliefs less, and can just enjoy his good sides.

Just saw this movie and was literally one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. So unrealistic and unbelievable all the way through, I understand that's just how these types of movies are but I just can't stand this movie. The plot by itself was interesting but the stunts, lines, and characters were so unrealistic and over the top it totally ruined it. I found myself shaking my head and rolling my eyes the whole movie.

I still hate Tom Cruise. He freaks me out very badly. I feel like his character in Collateral is the closest to his real personality. He has these slaves on these Scientology ships shining his boots. He scares me so bad that I have nightmares about him. So when watching his movies, I get uncomfortable. He just seems manic in all his roles. Movie wise, End of Tomorrow was better.

What a dumb review!! MI 3 is the best in franchise??!!!! Are you freaking kidding??!! No wonder this review got only 37,000+ views. She was such a creep toward Cruise the whole time! I mean, I get it you hate action movies, you don't understand action movies that much. But, that doesnt mean that you have to be such a creep in front of the whole world. Film critics should be unbiased. If you don't understand a genera, leave that review to others. You dont have to talk stupid and try to prove your " Vast knowledge" toward a film about which you dont have any idea. I'm sure she is one of that critics who thinks terminator 4 is better that terminator 2 because Cristian bell is their fav actor. Matt and Alonso were great as usual but she totally ruined it! A review point 6 for MI5?!!! WTF!! Really disappointed on "What the flick?!"
