Oh to be loved like that. What a shame to have their children die young like that. I wonder what they all died from. Another tantalizing piece of history. Thank you Jerry.
This was a real love story, so sad yet so beautiful. Such a magnificent statue, must have cost a fortune, she will never be forgotten. Thank you Jerry, and God Bless.
Jerry, I love the way you say "19 and 52", or "19 and 90"! It's cute and harkens back to a different time. Don't ever change. All your videos are smart and INTERESTING!
You would absolutely love the incredible love story surrounding the Dyer Memorial, here in my hometown. The most incredible love story. It is worth looking up because this man grieved himself to death while building a memorial by hand, for his deceased wife ,until the day he died. He built it alone. The pictures will amaze you. It is visited by many many people year round ( but now it is getting harder and harder to find if one is not from here) The roads in are not the best and there are very few signs.. To see the story and pictures try Googling, Dyer Memorial. Huntsville Ontario Canada.Well worth the time.
A beautiful and moving story about life, love and the heart-felt losses experienced by people that knew us not and that we sadly know only as a memory. Also, the piece playing in the background is so lovely and very appropriate for this tale.
Mr Jerry sir i am getting another addiction and it is watching your fantastic videos late at night while eating butterscotch ice cream and drinking a can of coke a cola..Your videos are so educational and very well narrated i cant stop watching them until finally get tired and climb into bed away from my desk..You also have a nack of choosing the best appropriate back ground music..It all adds to the drama very good job and if you have an assistant thanks to them as well for these videos...
It's a shame that everyone doesn't have that much love following them to the grave. It's not the expensive statue I'm talking about but the actual feeling of loss her husband felt. Unfortunately, so many people pass away and fade into oblivion within a few years, so sad. Maybe the ancient Egyptians were on to something...
Paul Simmons I agree totally, it seems today, love doesn't mean much. I cant see how some people can lose a spouse of many years, & then 1 month later be married to someone else, I just don't get it! I don't think they knew what love was in the first place. It's just crazy. How do you just go out & meet someone & marry them, one month later! lol 🤣🤣 probably will be divorced in a month also!!
It is an eerie feeling looking at this beautiful woman while the music is playing it's as if she has never died. I don't know how to explain this but the fact that she is dead and the life like statue makes one feel that she is somewhere between life and death and the story of love makes it even more eerie. It's like a story stuck in time with the house and all. I'm not sure if I would feel this way if I myself had been standing there I do think that the way you Jerry are telling the story along with the music and seeing her from all angles makes this very special. Thank you!!
@@maryblaylock6545 Well someone needs to use it on these stones. Can't understand why cemetery associations can pay to have the grass cut but not perform routine maintenance on the stones.
This guy is great at story telling. His voice, his speech cadence, etc., are perfect for this kind of thing. The music he chose here is good. He doesn't blow your away with rock music, aggravate you with ridiculous country music or hip hop beats. The hymn-playing piano is perfect here. Damm good show.
+sexysergeant123 Sergent, thank you and yes it was a love story. I did a video called "The Bride of Annandale" it was a true story and should be made in a movie. A real love story. Thank you. Jerry
Love this video. Beautiful statue and I really enjoy the story of the family. I'm in Savannah, Ga and I know we have several cemeteries with beautiful statuary and I have still yet to find out the stories behind them. Always interesting to know. Love your channel! Also, I can hear the faint ticking of a clock in the background and it took me back to remembering being at my grandparents house. Good memories. Thanks again ❤️
Savannah is such a fascinating, charming and gorgeous city! Did you know there are a couple of graves under either a taxiway or runway at the airport? I would love to know their history.
I’ve subscribed to your channel for several years now Jerry. The way you speak reminds me of relatives on my dad’s side who used to talk the same way. They’re all passed away now. It’s just nice to have a reminder of good moments.
What a beautiful homestead, love story and well documented video. Thank you so much. Very soothing and relaxing back music and comforting voice. A real love story. Sigh......:) Thank you for all of your hard work and research and for bringing this great stuff to us viewers Jerry. It is looked forward to very much in our household. :)
If this didn't bring tears to your eyes, then you must not be human. That is true love. Anyone of us should be so lucky to have that kind of love in our lives. Should have made a sculpture of her husband, and then after he died they could have put them side by side, or with them looking into eachothers eyes. Your narrations were awesome, and quite enjoyable to listen to. Thank you for doing such a good job in bringing this wonderful story to light.
Hey Jerry, thanks for posting this on this beautiful lady who died so young. A few years ago I went to Italy, to this famous cemetery in Genova, called Staglieno. About 150 years ago the rich people of Genova and some celebrities had their likeness done in marbal. Google, Staglieno Cemetery and you will see life like statues of dead loved ones who look like they are alive and real. I loved the place!
Hi Jerry, why do you read the dates as the 19 hundreds instead of the 18 hundreds on this film. I see where people like you saying the 1900's but that's not the yrs they lived. I thought if I went to the comments that you would correct the dates. I thought I had a hearing problem at first cause this film is much lower in volumn than most of your other stories. I love your stories and your voice. I am so glad to be a subscriber. I was watching the life story of Michael Landon. He really did have a sad childhood. I loved watching him as a kid. You do a fantastic job on everyone! Keep up the great work. ❤
Alla Bord - Thanks for the heads up - what a beautiful cemetery. There are a LOT of high-quality images on Wikimedia Commons: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Cimitero_di_Staglieno_(Genoa). When I was in St. Louis, Missouri, I went to the Bellefontaine Cemetery and took photos of the mausoleums. They have people like Anheuser AND Busch, among many other famous wealthy people. The mausoleums are works of art, but they still don't compare to the beautiful marble statues in the Staglieno Cemetery.
A touching story in remembrance of a forgotten wife and mother. It's understandable why Mr. Kelly was so bereaved, he lost some of his children and wife.
Thank you Jerry interesting short video. I am sad that descendants don't bother visiting their past relatives to leave pretty fake flowers and to clean the grave stones, surely there might be someone out there. I like graveyards each headstone has a story to tell. Thank you.
Hello mr jerry I've been watching your videos for a very long time and I thoroughly enjoy all of your hard work I especially enjoy the details of your subjects that's something that most people leave out or is just plain to lazy to do the research and get so thank you very much jerry and as always I look forward to your next subject
I really hope that the majority of your videos are the history of Mississippi. We have a very vast and interesting history it should be shared with the world
My Aunt Louise Hamilton told me about this. I guess it must have been in the 70's. I don't know how it looks now but the next time I go to town, Kosciusko, I'm going by to see it. Miley said a friend of hers said it had been badly vandalized.
A beautiful tribute to his first and true love, but I feel sorry for the next 2 wives, who had to live with CC, always in Laura's shadow. Also, where are they buried and what was their names? Very sad...
A wonderful story of of enduring love. Thanks Jerry. BTW, is it possible that Laura Kelly is holding an anchor in her right hand? If so maybe her husband was telling the world that Laura was his anchor. Just a thought.
How Interesting! I have a family connection to Kosciusko - My great-grandfather, George Columbus Edwards, Captain, Army of the Confederacy, is buried in the same cemetery. Perhaps the Kelly daughter that married an Edwards is one of my relations.
most died from complications and infection post childbirth. before modern medicine, having a child = early death for most women. if you look at the old census reports, most men ended up with 3 wives because they would all die from childbirth.
Hey Jerry; I enjoy your videos very much. I know you stick with the south, but have you ever heard of Hannah Dustin? Her memorial statue in Boscowan, NH is somewhat like Laura Kelly's. I think you'd find her story interesting, you should Google it sometime.
Thank you Cindy, i will. No i dont just do the South, i go everywhere, but have found some interesting things in the South lately. Thank you Cindy. Jerry
I think everybody has the same Legends we had to stitch you in Germany of The Brothers Grimm and it was supposed to have them change places at midnight the one sitting would stand in the one standing with sit we went several times to see it and it never happened of course we were sober then so maybe it only happens when you're drunk
